I started out in 2013 at 283 pounds. I had type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and I was miserable. I hated having photos taken of me. I couldn't go up stairs without heaving breaths, my kids were active little toddlers and I couldn't even come close to keeping up. I had no self confidence and no joy for my life. I banded in April 2013 and over the next year dropped about 70 pounds. It was like I was given a new lease on life. I felt like a completely different person and was thrilled with my health. Thats not to say my lapband journey was without complications...I had a miserable first couple of months with the band and was at a point where I a…

It took me longer than I thought but I couldn't be more excited!! 2 months and 3 weeks post op and I've hit the ONEderland! Yayayayayya! Sorry just felt the need to shout it from the roof top. I've met many mini goals in the past couple months but this was my first large goal. Actually 3 large goals in one day! 50lbs down, 50 to go. I'm halfway to my ultimate goal and first time below 200 for about 5 years Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Well! I had my surgery yesterday in Tijuana at the OCC with Dr. Ariel Ortiz. It went well. Moderate pain and discomfort. But they were on top of the meds, that helped a lot. Great caring staff. Great nutritionist. Lots of attention. Netflix in the room to watch. Then some sleeping meds and a good nights rest. The discharge the next morning was about 7am. Picked up my perception meds and instructions from the receptionist. Now back in my hotel room for recovery. Feeling better the second day. I can drink fluids ok with minor discomfort/ spasms ( cold beverages work best for me). I do feel like I did 300 sit-ups. A little difficult getting in and out of bed. And a few bo…

  7. One’s eyelashes are arguably probably the most under looked yet primary physical elements in ladies. Not only does having attractive eyelashes have an effect on the Vegalash size of the eyes, it can make or smash ones complete look Due to the popularity of having lengthy lashes, many ladies spend enormous quantities of greenbacks a year on cosmetics designed to increase their form, measurement and texture. In keeping with the colossal purchaser demand, there is now a plethora of merchandise available which might be designed to do just that and extra An unanticipated draw back to the quantity of merchandise is that it can be complicated for one to distinguish between offic…

One year. 110 pounds. As I sit here munching my egg beaters Breakfast, the first thought that pops in my head is thank goodness I love eggs and they agreed with me after my surgery! When I started this journey, I intended to blog about it. That never really materialized. I guess I expected to need to write down everything that happened. But it turned out just to be life. And normal life. That was totally unexpected. Anyway, I know this is going to be a long post and if you indulge me by reading it, thanks. If not, I'm ok with that too. I started at 275 pounds. I couldn't walk for more than 10 minutes without my back hurting. I was on medication for high blood pres…

  12. I have noticed something I never noticed before. That in our culture, it's OK to be overweight but only to a certain extent. As a woman, it seems to me that I am not allowed to be over 200 pounds without serious social consequences. Once I got under 200 strangers started to be nicer to me. I feel disgusted by this realization. I don't want to be loved for my body, or distained for it. I am so much more than my body, and I am coming to a level of success with my weight loss that is bringing me up against a very deep psychological pain, that was not dealt with fully, or even that I was aware of it until now. Due to severe trauma over a number of years around sexuality,…

I had my surgery on September 27th - SW 260, and just hit my 3 month Mark- CW 200. I did hit a stall period for a couple of weeks but I started going to the gym regularly and the scale then continued to move. The beginning for me was very rough but once I healed and got through the rough patches, I feel amazing. This surgery was the perfect decision for me! Good morning, BP Campers. Thought I'd stop in for a a quick visit and update. I started my preop diet 3 years ago today. I always consider this my anniversary, rather than the surgery date. Here's a recap of my journey so far..... Year 1 - the year of losing all of my excess weight (100 pounds), dozens of NSVs, and a new wardrobe. By far, the most exciting year. Even the month of liquids, 6 weeks of diarrhea and 2 insanely painful gallbladder attacks couldn't put a dent in my enthusiasm. It was all so new and fun and easy. Life was great and I was invincible! Year 2 - the year of finding out life still sucks no matter what size you are, losing my best friend t…

Two years and a couple of months post surgery and I am in that "new normal" area. For the last 18 months, I have been buying size Large shirts, 36" waist pants. My weight has been consistent. I pushed myself early to do a 5K and climb a mountain. But 2016 was busy. I met a spectacular woman over a year ago and was more interested in building the relationship than trying some new physical challenge. Last October she did a six-week 20-pound weight loss challenge (which she really didn't need to do, but she felt like she needed to reset her system). I didn't have time then to join her, but she did well, she lost 18.2 #'s, and her abs are killer - she is 54 and can …

If they say it happens quicker that might be true but i put my body and soul through trauma to better my circumstances if im a "cheater" for that then so be it but i make cheating look good. I will not miss being scared to take a nap for fear the whole house will hear me snoring. I will not miss the pain that came from walking out my house to my car (the less then a 1 minute Walk ) I say dear friend you did not do me well at all so i bid farewell to the 400s and i say to the 300s don't get comfortable i've started the eviction paperwork on you for you must leave me soon as well!!!! 27. First off I want to thank all the people on here who have been supportive!! I was going to post when I hit the one year mark, this surgery has been life changing and I couldn't wait!! This process is life changing. My step dad showed me a video of myself in July 2015 when a man placed an anaconda on my neck and wow, my weight. I was a huge woman, and my family of about 30 (very close) never told me anything. That is not typical in my family; but I guess since I was fat all my life they just didn't say anything. My sister who is a year younger has always been thin and in within the last maybe 8 to 10 years had weight issues, nothing major (as in health issues or obese), …

1 year 1 month 10 days And I hit my goal! Sept 21/15 - Oct 31/16 Lots of hard work. Many sacrifices. Lots of self talk. Much dedication and self motivation. But it was all worth it! The time flew by and I can't believe I am where I am just 13 short months after my Gastric Bypass surgery. I saved my own life and will thank myself everyday. I wasted too much of my precious life and now I'm gonna make up for it! Turning 41 in a couple days and I've never felt better, happier, healthier and of course lighter!!! I am still building back my energy. I get to start on my supplements now as well. My surgeon told me that now I get my Protein from foods and no more Protein shakes. However, I know that it will be impossible to get that much protein in the small amount of food that I am able to eat so I am going to continue to rely on them for now. I am excited for this journey. Hello all! Short Story... I went to my families house for Christmas & I was discussing with my Aunt & Sister how I was getting the Sleeve in 2017. They were both against it, saying i should try naturally & I need to get physically in the gym.. I was letting all of that go in one ear & out the other, until my Aunt said 3 of her friends gotten gastric surgeries done & all have gained their weight back plus more.. now if she would have said at least 1 gained their weight back, okay cool. But she said all 3. Is it possible to just gain the weight back like that after losing that tremendous amount? Im curious after that conversation..

Hi! I have been struggling with weight loss for about 4 years now after I had my son. I finally got online to see how can I get help. I seen that I could schedule a consultation with a bariatric doctor because I prequalified by the answers of their questions. I have high blood pressure & sleep apnea. I'm so new to this and I just wanted to be put at ease on what's the steps after your first consultation with the surgeon & what should I look forward too. I have a consultation coming up the second week in January! I'm nervous yet anxious at the same time. I'm sure some can relate! everyone, I am in the pre surgery, looking at a surgery date of end of November/beginning of December. But I was hoping to hear from sleevers who were/are diabetics and how your diabetes has changed since surgery, and if you wish you had done RNY instead. I'm a type 2 diabetic, horrible blood sugars and on multiple medications (insulin, victoza, amyral, metformin and invokana). So I am primarily looking at surgery for blood sugar control help. I'm 5'10" and 250. Weight loss will be a bonus but I'm trying trying to decide which surgery is better for blood sugar control. My endocrinologist suggested sleeve surgery but the surgeon thinks RNY. There are some people who know I have had this surgery, and have been with me the whole way on my weight loss journey. With the exception of a very few, the people at our church are not in that group. This is mainly because I do not know most of them very well, and discussing my personal health choices is not my idea of creating that kind of bond. So this morning I am sitting in the Sunday morning service. For many, many years, I have dressed pretty much the same, wearing a nice pair of pants, and a low key Hawaiian style shirt. This type of shirt is not only good for hiding my rotundity, it also does a good job of hiding my personal defense accessory, which goes …
