Today is one year from my bypass surgery. So much has changed in this one year. Both my life and I are unrecognisable. Now I am going to attempt to post the obligatory before and after shots. (please disregard my messy closet in the "after" picture!)

Been a great five plus months. Started at 317 and now down to 220. I drink a lot of Power Aid Zero, probably 4 or 5 of the 32 oz. drinks a day. I gave up all carbonated drinks. I am feeling nervous/figity of an evening and believe I am consuming to much sodium. I used to enjoy the Walmart zero calorie zero sodium Clear American drinks but they are carbonated. Your thoughts on carbonation after Sleeve? Thanks Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I had surgery on Sept 26, 2014. My weight was 238 and the lowest i got to was 157. I am currently averaging 160-163...I think its mostly Water weight, but not matter what type of weight it maybe, it psychologically distributing. Other than that, life has been great. Still pretty much control my eating and exercise. I never really made it to my goal of 153, but I was close enough. Now my goal is just to maintain. I feel great, very active and not afraid to leave the house. This was the best decision done .

I ran my 2nd half marathon this Saturday! I shaved 13 minutes off my first time from back in September. I ran it in 2:27:09. I started running in January this year, and I am just amazed at how it has changed my life. Signed up for my third half marathon already!

I'm new to this website and have read so many interesting stories. So I'm wondering if anyone has used Diatomacous Earth after gastric sleeve surgery? I know it helps with a lot of things as keeping things moving, hair, nails, skin, helps keep your blood clean, etc. but not sure if it can be taken after surgery. I'm almost 2 yrs out. A friend of mine takes 1 teaspoon daily and it's cleared her skin, toe nail fungus, lowered cholesterol, etc. Any experiences out here?

Hello! I am about 5 1/2 weeks out from my gastric sleeve. Unfortunately, my post op period has been complicated by a wound infection, 4 days in hospital on IV antibiotics, then 2 weeks of oral antibiotics. Now I have C Diff.... but I am trying to stay positive! This too shall pass. I have started doing Pilates and am eating food (protein!). Can you please tell me what you eat (meals and snacks) and describe your exercise.... how often, how long, what type? Thanks!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

It’s hard to believe it, but July 18 marks my 12-year Surgiversary! 12 years ago, I weighed 255 lbs (at a height of 5’7”). That was at age 25, after years of being overweight and yo-yo dieting. I got the lap-band on July 18, 2003, under the skillful hand of Dr. Christine Ren-Fielding in New York, and the rest, as they say, is history. I have my life back and it’s better than ever. I feel like the luckiest man in the world. I have a wonderful family with the best children ever, and I have the health and energy to be able to keep up with them and be a real part of their lives. I am also thrilled every day to be able to advocate for weight loss surgery patients through Bar…

I am just about 5 1/2 months out. The weight loss has slowed down a tad but is still headed in the right direction. Had been stuck at 205 for the past week or so. Weighed myself today and was happy to see 203lbs. That bumped me from double to triple digits, 101lbs. to be exact. Definately made my day! 23 to go and I will be a happy camper!!

I'm getting sleeved in about 3 weeks and right now I'm at 403 lbs. I'm extremely nervous I'm not going to lose any weight from this surgery because I've never been able to my entire life. I have 250 lbs to lose before I reach my goal weight and that seems beyond impossible. Anyone lose any amount close to what I need to lose? How long did it take? Any tips? Single digit jeans! I made a last minute stop to Marshalls and I thought to myself I've been having a crappy week (work related) I need a new pair of jeans. I was rummaging through the 10s. But the 10s I have now we're getting a little bit loose, so I picked up a pair of 8s and thought if they don't fit now they may fit in few weeks. Came home tried them on and they fit! Like a glove and I can't believe it. I have not been in the single digits since maybe my freshman year of high school! I'm down 83lbs. Current weight 173.

Today marks one year since I had my sleeve done. This year has really just gone by so quickly and my life has changed so much in the last year. A year ago today I was 319 lbs and wearing a size 26/28 in pants. I didn't have any real medical issues yet but I knew it was just a matter of time before they would start. I was getting to be on the border of high blood pressure and I knew that I would also likely end up diabetic within a few years if things didn't change. My joints were hurting all the time and my back would spasm with pain. I had thought about having surgery for a long time but prior insurance wouldn't cover it and I had no way to pay out of pocket for it…

I started this journey at 260 pounds, I was unhappy.. Depressed and at an all time low, I had my surgery on the 26th of May 2016.. It's a tiny bit over the 3 month mark and after a 2 week stall I can happily say the scale went to 198.5 pounds! I had a little cry earlier when I saw it.. I just wanted to say thank you to every single one of you who post on this site and share your advice and experience, it's helped me so so much! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

One thing I love about FB’s on this day feature is seeing all the selfies I used to take lol. This picture really got me though. It was a picture of my niece and I taken one year ago. I see someone who although she is smiling, she is dead on the inside. Longing to break free from the chains of obesity. January 7th of this year I started my new sleeved life. It has not been easy, but I do not regret my decision not one bit. Exercise has become something that I enjoy to do, I never thought I would say that! I am able to be the active mom that my son deserves to have. I no longer get tired and out of breath playing with him. I had got to the point where I hid from my friend…

I'm about 4.5 months out. Lost 75lbs. Started at 276; I was 201 this morning. Today was the last day for the MD Renn Faire so I just had to go. I took a picture last year but didn't share it with anyone because I thought it looked terrible. I had another picture taken today and I just can't believe how much of a change there was. Last year I was wearing a 46" corset. The one from this year was a 36". Oh and my hair is a hot mess in this, but that should be expected after being outside all day. Can't wait to see where I am next year!

I'm 9 weeks out from my sleeve, and was in the habit of weighing myself every day, until my surgeon told me to stop driving myself crazy and just weigh myself once a week. So I decided to weigh myself every Friday to hopefully have a positive start to the weekend. I weighed in at 263.5 last Friday, but last night I had a dream that I stepped on the scale today and it said 355! In my dream I remember feeling like all the progress I made went down the tubes and that I would never be successful in my weight loss. Even though I knew it was just a dream, I woke up this morning feeling very anxious about weighing myself. Well, I did get in the scale this morning, and the nu…

The day of surgery I weighed 370 lbs. Diabetic, high blood sugar, high cholesterol, kidney not 100%, just am all around, typical obese individual with no drive, no energy, just a desire to eat, always planning my next meal. The attached picture was yesterday's walk. By no means am I ready for a marathon, and there are definately people doing better then me, but I'm not in competition with anyone. I just left the doctors office where I was taken off of ALL MY MEDICATIONS! I weigh 317 lbs as of this morning and I haven't felt this good in MA NY years! Have a great day and thanks for reading. ???? Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App

I am 1 week out today. HW 238 SW 230 CW 226 When do you start to see steady weight loss begin? I lost 4 pounds within the first 4 days and have not lost since. I know I shouldn't have weighed so early but I can't undo it now. I had a Dr. Appointment for something else and they weighed me today. I have had a couple BMs and do not feel bloated. I have for sure been under 600 calories a day usually between 450-550. So what do you all think? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
