First picture is from November 2016 at 303 pounds. The second picture is from tonight. Same clothes. I had to hold my pants from falling to the floor. Tomorrow, I will be two months post op and weigh in at 231. So glad I made the decision for WLS.

Well, I'm a new one here. After much waiting, my surgery day is tomorrow. I'm scared, anxious, and excited all at the same time. I really hope this is the right decision and that I come out on the other end where I hope to be. I've struggled with food my entire life an fed up with heartache dealing with my weight. I'm very nervous tonight... jason

I had my surgery on July 27th and went home the next day. I was doing pretty good in the hospital. Walking every hour, burping a lot, and getting in my fluids. Then when I got home everything changed. I was having so much pain that I had to keep taking my pain meds around the clock for 2 days straight. 4 days post op I could hardly get in any liquids and I ended up in the ER for dehydration. After getting IV fluids I felt way better and now set an alarm to get all my fluids in. I am still having a lot of pain around my incisions (mainly 1 that is red and very tender). Really hoping it's not inflected. Today I hit an all time low with my emotions. I cried so much…

Hello all, I'm not one to post things, but I love reading everyone's posts, recipes, emotional ups and downs and the whole nine yards. Anyway, as I said, only 8 days out and have only lost 5 lbs. is this normal? Since this is consuming me right now, I think I may be worrying to much OR does anyone think I'm doing something wrong? I don't have my one week appt until Friday. Any help at all would be so much appreciated. Thank you all for sharing your stories and successes. That is keeping me going! Took some progress photos this am and realized that between today's photos and my "starting" photo I've lost 50 lbs exactly! I say "starting" photo because I've actually lost about 70 lbs overall but don't have a pic of myself in my undies at my highest weight. So here I am on January first weighing in at 207 lbs (after already losing 20 lbs), and here I am today, July 8th, at 157 lbs. I had sleeve surgery on March 22nd and have lost 39 lbs since my surgery day weigh-in. Without makeup or my hair done or striking a pose these aren't the most flattering pics but I love them as a straightforward comparison so I'm taking the plunge and sharing them here. No ma…

Hi my name is Raychel and I am new to this group. I had the bypass done on June 13th and I was wondering if anybody else had it done around the same time, so we could share our experiences and stories together. HW-320 SW-293 CW-267 Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using BariatricPal mobile app

I was 451 pounds before I had my surgery in September. Got on the scale today and saw the number 299! I know this is not a big deal for some people, 299 is higher than a lot of your starting weights before surgery, but this is a MASSIVE ACHIEVEMENT for me. I haven't seen a number lower than 300 on the scale since I was sixteen years old. So, yeah, I still have a ways to go, but I am so happy with this decision. I look better, I feel incredible, and I will never go back to being the self destructive girl slowly killing herself with food that I was a year ago. Starting weight: 451 lbs Current weight: 299 lbs Starting BMI: 68 Current BMI: 45 Starting shirt…

I read a lot of posts but I've never written one. I have my sleeve on June 5th. My highest weight was 368 but I started the sleeve at 298.1; I am now at 266.6. I feel like I should be down more based on what I am reading. I am having a difficult time eating. Nothing tastes good nothing sounds good; or it sounds good then I can't get it down. I am focused on getting my proteins and water in. My Nutritionist says I'm doing good and the support group I'm in says it's normal to have eating problems... Anyone else? Is it just me or does anyone else feel like nothing they eat tastes good? I feel like my taste buds have changed. (I'm two months post-op) Also,I feel like my sense of smell has changed too. I feel badly for my poor fiancé. If he has onions during the day, he has to face the other direction when we are sleeping because his breath makes me want to barf. Poor guy. LOL

Before I had my surgery, and during the majority of my weight loss, I spent a lot of time looking at other people's pictures so I could reassure myself that I too, could have the results I had hoped for. Well let me tell you my friends, you inspired me so much that I actually have done it!Still planning for my plastic surgery to remove my excess skin, but this is what 150+ pounds of weight loss looks like!

Hi there, I guess it's true that Time flies when you're having fun; I've been having a lot of that. Honestly, I cannot believe that two years ago today I was waking up from surgery and beginning a new chapter in my life. I had no idea then of the many ways my life would be reshaped aside from the shape of my body. I'm forever grateful the band was available to me as it has been the perfect choice for my situation. We are all different. I was 52 at the time and had never been an overnight patient in a hospital before. I can barely tolerate going to the dentist. Getting a band was a big decision but I was fortunate somehow to just know that that's what I wanted t…

I had my VSG June 8, 2016. Super happy with the results. I went from 311 to 205, then gained back about 15 lbs, and also had a hernia repair surgery on June 28, 2017. Now using Saxenda as prescribed by my surgeon, and down to 205 again. Felling confident of hitting my goal of 190, but wondering if I can hold it. I haven't posted in a while, but I really appreciate all the great advice and comments... I read the site all the time.

This is going to be long so if you don’t care about the story part, skip to the bottom for the numbers. I never thought I would be here, post-op from WLS surgery, especially a surgery that removed most of my stomach but here I am, and I am thrilled to be here. I grew up in a healthy, athletic family, really athletic, at the Professional level. We had healthy food and some not so healthy comfort food, but always real food in the house. I was always athletic, but slightly overweight growing up. Then in college, I started to yo-yo. My weight would change between 20 and 40 pounds. Then I had a baby, BOOM. I gained 70 pounds with the pregnancy and never lost it. I started …

I have been stalled at 200 for two weeks with fluctuations of up to 1.4 pounds up despite being meticulous about my calories, protein, carbs, and water. Every day I would wake up and tell myself "today is the day. You're going to get out of the 200's" only to be sorely disappointed. Then today it finally happened!

I have just had my first fill in 1.5 years. My surgery was performed in May 2014. I lost over 108 lbs and I was so proud of myself. Here's the bad part, I became over confident in myself, thought I could start eating a few things here and there that I knew were bad for me but of course I thought I was invincible. I never went back to the doctor because I felt so embarrassed as the weight creeped back on. Well fast forward to today, I have gained back 55 lbs. of my 108 lb. loss and feel like a complete failure. I have picked myself up though and went back to the doctor today, had a fill and I'm restarting my weight loss journey all over again. Just want to tell ever…

I am five months out from VSG and fortunately only have 16 more lbs (my goal, which may change) to lose. My dilemma is clothing. Example - this morning I was getting dressed for work and now only have one pair of pants that fit. Really!?!? Last week I had 4. What happened over the weekend - I only lost 1 lb! So the problem-I have to dress in "professional" clothes - that's their term - meaning suits/jackets, etc. I have tried the thrift stores but they don't seem to carry much work professional - well, not true, if I want to dress in the 80's they do. I just can't afford to buy clothes over and over and over, as I have probably already spent $800 in the last…

I love the Choice I made with Lab Band. I love the way people make me feel when They see Me and I have Lost and Kept my weight off. I have not gotten A fill in over 2 years. I still eat small Portions, I try to never Over eat because your Brain does not tell you to stop eating. So if you serve yourself alot of Food, your gonna be eating alot and feeling sick, because your Mind sees it and wants it... but you shouldn't. I Did this surgery because of my High Blood Pressure and because it was so hard for me to loose weight with diet and exercise. I feel Great!! I love showing of my body, cause it has fallen back into place.. The Only thing I do have is my Ar…

Just a little motivation for those of you just starting. If I can do it anyone can. It takes work, everyday good choices, but the sleeve helps!!! I love that even when I mentally crave something outside my normal eating routine, the smallest portion fills me up and I'm satisfied. A few pics. First before and after VSG. Second before and after 360 LBL. Still amazes me how can that be me!!!!!! But it is. Best wishes to those starting your journey. You can do it!!!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I had my surgery on 6/21/17, starting weight of 216 I am now 185! Thats about 30lbs. I am so happy I did this despite my fear of having my gut rearranged lol. I have more energy and I am already able to come off 2 of my medications! I am still trying to balancing fruits, veggies, water and protein! I find myself getting constipated. My surgeons office says take milk of magnesia but I think I would like to try something a bot mor natural like prunes or prune juice. Has anyone struggled with this at this stage? I could use the support and thank you in advance for replying! [emoji151] Sent from my SM-J320P using BariatricPal mobile app

So I did it!!! When I was banded my doctor said the average person losses between 40-50 pounds. I thought that was fantastic! I was 255 pounds and the thought of loosing 50 pounds was amazing. But it after I got the surgery I decided that I wanted to go all the way. I wanted to lose everything. It's been 9 1/2 years and I am 103 pounds!! I went from a size 22 to a size 0, from a 2x to a XXS. I went from, 'Sorry nothing fits you in this store because you're too big.' to 'Sorry nothing fits you in this store because you're too small.' I went from 52% body fat to 13% body fat. Am I happy? It took me a long time to be happy to be honest. I fought happiness ev…

I was wondering what people saw for the first month/second month weight loss. I see a lot of amazing stories after 8 month, a year etc. it is very hard to be at the beginning of this journey. I am working so hard and following the diet but I am still large. I would really like to here what some people saw and how they got through the slow points. Thanks!

I'm wondering how many of you just felt weak, I would think after three weeks I'd begin to feel like my old self at some time in the near future. Anyone else having this problem? Start weight: 350 Surgery date 12/20: 338 Current weight: 253 I haven't seen this girl in so long it amazes me still that with this tool I have been successful with it unlike every other weight loss diet and trend I had used since the age of 15. This picture on the left was me two days ago and the picture on the right was about two years ago. I use to play roller derby and with my size back then I had a hard time just skating in a circle. I feel amazing now and can't wait to try skating again. I couldn't imagine being where I am now if I didn't have gastric bypass. This tool works and I'm so happy I did this to better my life. Yes I do have these cheat days and I tend to …

So I had surgery on 2/16/17 and after a stall or two I must say that I am enjoying life and my journey is going great. Before surgery I was on so many prescriptions, High BP, Cholesterol, metformin for prediabetes, a stomach Med, and heartburn med. three months out from surgery all my meds are now gone. My A1C is perfect, my cholesterol is low, my blood pressure is low, and I've lost a total of 110lbs (40 in the three months before surgery and 70 since surgery). That is 5lbs a week. I eat sensible, protein first and then veggies. I have four small meals a day and have learned quickly what I can tolerate and I drink tons of water now. I am shocked at how quickly my relati…

This week I realized I had 2 NSV. The first one is my 8yr old can hug me (at my thickest belly part) and reach his arms all away around me. No more half hugs here! I almost cried when I realized he can now fully hug me, not just part of me. My 2nd victory is being able to have a regular shower towel wrap around me and cover all my bits. No more need to use a beach towel! I might be at a stall right now, but these NSVs are encouraging me! Sent from my VS995 using BariatricPal mobile app

Hi! What was your weight loss at 4 months? I'm down 40 lbs and just feel like it's going slowly and so worried I won't lose anymore or a lot. I know that sounds silly but I'm just nervous about failing/ I know I need to increase my exercising. Any tips or help will be greatly appreciated
-
I hit my goal last month and I decided I still wanna lose 10-20 more lbs. I started at 250. I am now 140. Everyone says I'll look bad if I lose any more weight. I still see a fat girl in the mirror. Is this just my past insecurities? Idk. Luckily my skin has bounced into place without skin surgery. At 38 years old, I consider myself a lucky duck. My doctor also says I shouldn't lose anymore because I may not be happy with the result and response from my skin. Advice anyone? Anyway, here are some before and after.

100 lbs gone!! Now it's time to maintain.... a whole new challenge. But I'm up for it. Side note: I stayed at 147 lbs for 8 freaking weeks. Scale would not budge. Went to nutritionist and tweaked my daily meals just a bit and BAM, the last 8 lbs flew off!! The pics: first one is self explanatory! second one is me today third one is me BEFORE last one is me hiking last weekend.

How about another update? 140lbs down. I'm actually in training to become a Barre instructor. Who would have thought that the girl who once had to ride a motorized cart around a grocery store, the girl who couldn't find cute clothes because she was just too big, the girl who was out of breath after 1 flight of stairs, would be fit enough to be asked by her instructors to be a Barre instructor? I love to workout. I love to take the stairs. I love to make my friends have walking dates with me instead of lunch dates. I'm that girl! I'm working on extreme fat loss to be in optimal shape for my skin removal surgery. Life is great! The sleeve and my new found ability …

Well, it was my instinct to keep my surgery a secret. Not sure why, I guess I was afraid of feeling judged. I had a cousin who had the sleeve and she told me in confidence. She would post her weight loss on facebook, but never acknowledged that she had surgery. I respect her stand, but I decided to be public with this journey! I'm not ashamed to take control of my life (finally) and I'm certain I made the best decision for me! I want to share my experience in case someone else is considering this option. It was a (unnecessary) struggle for me to make the decision to have weight loss surgery. Honestly, looking back this is a no brainer! It's been exactly two months (today)…

Just curious as to how people measure their major milestone dates. In the beginning, most people seem to go by weeks, but as you go further out, do you continue to go by weeks (and therefore 4 weeks = 1 month), or do you go by the actual day anniversary? So, using myself as an example, my surgery was Thursday, Feb 9, 2017. If we go by the standard 6 months (even though they range from 28 to 31 day each), my 6-month surgiversary will be August 9th. But, if I go week-by-week, as I have been doing since this started, 6 months will be July 27th, 2 weeks earlier. I'm probably overthinking this (!) but I consider Thursday my surgery day, not the 9th of any given month…

I've been really happy with my weight loss so far. I was sleeved early Feb and am down about 134 pounds which is great. But today I am sitting here wearing a 2XL shirt and 44" waist pants, and I look freaking great. Hard to believe that in January I was barely getting into my 54" pants with the extender waist and was stretching out my 4XLT shirts to get them to fit. Freaking amazing. While there are days that I am so tired of my diet that I can't hardly stand it, days like today keep me going. I try and stay pretty strict with my diet but temptations wear on my soul, days like today keep me focused and help me overcome the daily temptations.
