its now been 4.5 years since I was sleeved. my high weight was 323 lbs. my goal weight was low 180's. I did reach goal weight but over the years I realized that my desired goal weight was too low for me. now for the last 2 years ive steadily maintained a weight in the mid 190's and that appears to be where im supposed to be and im happy with that weight. today 10/1/17 I weight 195 lbs. I exercise 3-4 times a week and my choice of exercise is running. I will also be running the 2018 boston marathon and im so excited about being able to run this historic race! im running it for the jimmy v foundation for cancer research and ive committed to raising $6000 which is no…

Hello all, I just recently had my surgery, 9/15. Things are going great and now I'm starting to look towards future. We are going to Disney World in December, a little over 3 months after my surgery. Anyone have tips on how to eat out for a week straight? DW specific tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

I haven't felt like I'm losing much. Doc says I will lose slower because my BMI was 42 at surgery. I'm 48 down right now....was 46 down in this photo. If you are starting this journey - take progress pictures!!! I have a whole new motivation, now!

I've been trying not to focus on the end goal and keep the small goals in my mind. Mostly getting excited each time I go down 10lbs. Seeing the numbers change has been really exciting the whole time. I just realized though that I'm closer to my goal weight than my highest weight! Definitely exciting to think about! My highest weight was 311. When I saw that number at my PCP appointment I was in such disbelief that I weighed myself again when the nurse left the room. That was the same appointment that my PCP asked if I had ever considered surgery. I had of course thought about it for years but I was too chicken to even mention it never mind make an appointment with a …

HW 297 SW 280 CW 257 GW 185 Surgery date July 10 2017 I wish it was coming off faster but at least I am losing. Doing everything right (eating/ working out). About 2 week after surgery I hit a three week stand still but it looks like I am losing again. Ready for the new me!

Hi everyone I've posted here a few times over the past several months about stalls and plateaus that I've gone through but now I'm really desperate- I've been stuck at 183-185 for the past 5 months and I only had surgery 9 months ago! Every time I post I've. Even told to just keep working my plan and it will start up again- but it's been too long- I think I'm just in maintenance phase but I really don't want to be! I get my protein goal (about 80-90g/day), I get my 64-80 oz of fluids, try to keep my carbs below 50g and eat only 2 meals and 2 shakes (Premiere Protein) each day. My surgeon doesn't give calorie goals (so frustrating!) and says to just keep to 4oz per meal…

So it's been 18 months since my gastric sleeve. and I've lost close to 100 lbs. Although I'm feeling great, and seems like my body is finally adapting to the change, I still feel very emotional ALL THE TIME. There are things that wouldn't bother me before, and that I would even ignore of think weren't of importance. Now, if I'm watching TV and a sad puppy commercial I'm all tears. Anyone else experiencing the same??

Life for me at 7 years is pretty similar to life at 2, 4 or 5 years post op. It's still maintenance. For me, it's been pretty simple. Eat the program most of the time so you can be flexible when you want. Don't graze. Basically, you know what made you fat, Cheri, so don't do that. So I don't. What will people ask? Loose skin, have it. Much less than I had early on. It rebounds enormously in years one and two post goal. I never wear shapewear. Want plastics, don't need them. Have a little panni, but in anything but the sheerest leggings it's pretty flat. I'm not bothered anymore. Restriction is still really strong, but many sleeved shorter times than me say they …

Hello my fellow sleevers I am looking for some insight / stories on pregnancy after being sleeved. I am knocking on my 1 year 10/6/17 and the husband and I have decided we want to try for baby #2. I really want to try but am a little worried about weight gain. Pre surgery I was 325 size 20/3x. Before I got pregnant with my 1st I was 230ish size 16 and gained almost 100lbs with that pregnancy My fear is I'll end up back where I was before surgery. I am current 225 size 12/L which I'm happy at. I also have PCOS which scares me Has anyone got pregnant after surgery? If so how was it/is it? Did you have an issue or gain way more weight than you expected? Were you abl…

I had surgery on April 20, 2017 and I've lost 93 lbs. I find that looking in the mirror it can be hard to really see how much progress I've made. I went shopping today and got to take a pic in a full length mirror. I was so excited when I put it side by side with my before picture! I still have 50-60 to lose but I just love where this journey has brought me so far. I'm so happy I have this safe space to share different experiences.

Had my surgery Sept. 6, 2017. Day of surgery I weighed 196 lbs, today I weighed at 190.2 lbs. Is that good or bad? I think it's a little slow was hoping to be 20 lbs lighter by what little I was taking in. Sent from my Z983 using BariatricPal mobile app

One year ago today I had my RNY bypass done! One year later and I'm down 125lbs and I have lost a total of 90.5 inches!!!! I feel amazing, my knees don't ache every time I move and my feet aren't so sore from carrying that much weight around! I don't get winded walking up a flight of stairs anymore and have found that I love jogging and I love yoga and riding a bike is fun again!! I still struggle with who I see in the mirror so I take a lot of pictures. I take measurements every month or so and I celebrate with activities instead of food now. What a difference a year can make!

I guess it's a NSV I kinda forgot my surgiversary. I'm 3 years post op and maintaining all of my 130 lb loss. (I do bounce up and down 4-5 lbs). Still tracking everything I eat, it keeps me in check. Walking 8 miles a day 6x a week. Completed a LBL earlier this year and getting ready for final skin removal on legs soon. Just hope those starting this journey know if I can do it ANYONE can. I stuck to my Dr's diet very strictly making all the changes lifestyle changes. I don't deprive myself now, but splurges are now occasional instead of daily. And I love that my sleeve still really restricts me. It's hard to feel guilty about 1 small piece of pizza and I'm so grateful th…

Hello Everyone! It's crazy that it's been 5.5 years since I was sleeved. It was the best decision I ever made. But, it's still hard! The last few months I have put back on some pounds. I'm determined to get them off and keep them off! It seemed like it was right at about the 3 year mark, that weight started to come back on really easy, and it's been a struggle since. I hadn't been on the forum here forever, so I thought I would get back on for some inspiration. Below is a before pic, and I couple of recent pics. Starting Weight: 320 Lowest Weight since: 195 Current Weight: 213

Preop, I had SEVERELY cracked heels. When I google images of cracked heels, the images are of heels that are dry around the edges of the heel, but not on the walking surface of the bottom of the foot (for the most part). I had the typical cracked heels like those images, but in addition, I had "fish scale" pattern cracks all over the bottom of my foot pad as well. Some cracks would be deep enough that you could see red/pink in the crack, but they didn't actively bleed. Anyway, I had those heels for the last, I don't know.. 8 years? Nothing made them better or worse. Time of year, lotion, etc. They were just always that way. Now, 5.5 months postop, and they are…

Not to break a stall, I am lucky my stall is over and I am 3lbs down since friday, the only thing I have done differently is.. CONSTANTLY EATING lol not mindlesy eating i weigh everything, but spend most my day eating that has helped for some reason. Anyway its been stressfull, food, planning what to eat, stalls changing things up constantly , my tummy sometimes feels irritated my minds irritated. I also realised my weightloss was faster before i had surgery lol ( i know i know its the keeping it off that was the issue) but i dont know.. i love my sleeve for getting me back o…

I was sleeved April 4. Prior to surgery on pre op I lost 15. I am 5'3.5. As you can see it fluxes each month and the process does slow down. I went from a size 24/ 3x to a Large 12/14. My goal from my doctor is 130 but I am going for 150. August was tough as the scale didn't move. I had to look at measurements to see the progression. My doctor is sort of rude and has been on me about my progress. I am doing all the right things. Sw: 230 Pre op: 215 April : 204 down 11 May: 191 down 13 June: 186 down 5 July: 182 down 4 August: 179.6 down 2.4 Sept: current weight 177.6 Total Loss: 52.4

I had a new work photo taken. That's the only picture I have of myself before beginning my pre-op, so it's my "before." I was shocked to see my new photo. I almost look gaunt. I don't think either photo looks like me.

Hi everyone! I am having sleeve surgery on 9/27 and I'm starting to freak out a bit. I came to in the OR after my lap band removal, in the most agonizing pain that I've ever felt, thinking that I was dead. I have asked my surgeon MANY times to please make sure that this doesn't happen to me this time, and while he assures me that it won't, I still can't get that vision of waking up out of my head. Please tell me that this isn't irrational and that rethinking this surgery would be anyones natural reaction. I feel like I'm kind of losing my mind!

Hi everyone, just had RNY done on August 14 of this year. Im a male 57 yo old and am 90 lbs overweight. My wife had same procedure done 10 months ago and is down 60+ lbs and counting. My surgery was pretty much uneventful although I have to admit beforehand I had doubts not so much what I could eat but how much. We have so much food choices and eat way too much. To prepare myself mentally I allowed myself 4 "one last full " meals in the month before the surgery comprising spaghetti with meatballs; sushi sashimi deluxe; 12 in tuna sub and, of course; whopper with cheese and fries. After the surgery somewhat surprisingly I had no pain or significant discomfort. I we…

I met with my team yesterday and they are very happy with my progess. I'm down 64 lbs. At 8 weeks. Doc said I'm at 35% when most of his patients are at 20% after 8 weeks. His words "you're crushing this"! Its motivating to know I'm doing everything I can to get and keep these results. A few recent NSV's = running 22 min straight, bending over to tie my shoe, glowing skin and overall wellness. To those just starting, its a long journey but will be worth it. Those in the thick of it, keep going. And those who continue to maintain - keep inspiring! Sent from my LG-TP450 using BariatricPal mobile app

I am 20 months out and feel awesome. Starting weight was 387 I never thought I would see 1?? Anything ever appear on my scale. I look at my pics now and sometimes shead tears on how much of life I missed out on because I didn't feel like doing much because of the weight. It takes work but you can do anything you put your mind to. Hope this inspires someone that is struggling right now it gets better you just have to learn how to use your tool correctly. Top left pic was my start and some pics in between bottom middle is my most current pic (pink pants) I would have never! ?

I haven't been on this forum in forever so thought I'd make a post. :-) I will be 9 months post op in 3 days after being sleeved on 11/21/16. I started the WLS process on April 11, 2016 after basically being overweight my entire life. At my highest weight I was 398 pounds wearing a size 28W pant and 4X top. I lost 100 pounds over a few years and would always regain and lose down to around 300 after that. In Feb 2016 my PCP told me my blood work showed that I was just points away from being diabetic (runs in my family) and that unfortunately my BP meds were no longer working even though they were now at the highest dose I could go. She said if things didn't change drastica…

I am 3 month post op & 45 lbs lost.....but guys I blew it this week !!! Blew it big time. All of my bad habits crept back & I allowed myself to eat a ton of simple carbs. I ate frequently. I ate till I was uncomfortably full & experienced terrible guilt afterwards. It was as if the past 3 months didn't happen. I am so ashamed of myself but more importantly so worried that I may not get back on track tomorrow. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

Today is my 3 month post op anniversary and ive hit 100 pounds down fron the start of this WL journey. I am halfway there and am struggling with the idea that I'm able to lose more weight. 100 is a LOT to lose, but I have been at this weight before (5 years ago) and was never able to get lower. So I'm posting progress pics to remind myself 2 things. 1) I've come a long way and 2) im not who I was...I will go further Top row - HW 328 on 02/09/17 Mid row - SW 271 on 05/24/04 Last row - CW 228

Weighed in 278.4 day of surgery, 178.4 this morning. Sleeved 8/1 so just a bit over 10 months out. Also, I'm officially out of the "overweight" BMI range. (my info says 25 but BMI calc says I'm justttt under it) 8/1 (surgery) - 1/18 (about halfway between then and now) - 6/11 (today!) I'm 8.4lbs away from my initial goal but I think I might adjust to 150. Trying to get some kind of body fat testing done per suggestions in a thread I posted earlier this week so I can get a better idea of what's fat and what's skin.

Prior to bariatric surgery, my weight yo-yo-ed between 115 and 300. Much more time around 300 than 115. Before approval for surgery, needed clearance from a cardiologist. Did stress test, but due to severe labile hypertension, had to stop the treadmill and do the medication version. Did a stress test today (5 1/2 years out, maintaining 120 lbs for over 4 1/2 years, daily workouts 7 days a week and still following the dietary guidelines I did from day one) I have a very healthy, athletic heart!!! Despite physical limitations leg braces, etc..., was able to get my heart rate into the target range, it quickly returned to normal, BP went up, then when I was do…

I had my life changing surgery on August 4th, 2017. The day of my pre-op liquid diet, I lost 11 pounds. Went from 352 to 341. On the day of surgery, my weight was 341, as my pre-op diet wasn't two weeks. Today marks exactly two weeks since my start of the surgery and I'm down to 320. That is a 32 pound drop in less then a month, with 21 pounds being lost in two weeks. Hopefully it continue. I yet to feel hungry and it seems hard to even drink my three protein shakes daily. We'll get there. Picture of myself as of 8/17/17

I went today for my 6 month check up - down 72 lbs per the doctor's scale and I am no longer considered overweight! My surgeon said I was a star pupil as I am 6 lbs from goal. I now think I will probably go lower than my original goal, as getting in over 1,000 calories a day would have me eating ALL day long and that sounds like a lot of work and no time to get in liquids. I will see how things look and feel. I have appointed my daughter as the one to tell me if I need to level out and stop losing. My friends thought I was too thin 10 lbs ago. Really, too thin at 170! I think not. I spoke with the nutritionist and asked her where I should go from here in re…

Today I ran 16 minutes! Like, I ran ran. Training for a 5k. Completed week 5 day 2 of training tonight which called for two 8 minute runs. It feels good to be active again. Also, I was recently able to slip on a size 16 dress (down from a size 26) in about 8 weeks time! Keep running toward your goals and crush them! So the other day I went out with a co-worker. I decided to get chicken kebab...seemed like the healthiest option out of everything at the mall...I didn't get rice, bread, hummus, or ANYTHING else...just the chicken. I was able to eat like 4 or 5 of the pieces of chicken on the skewer. I was really surprised that I was able to eat that much. That was the most I got down since surgery a month ago. I was worried my stomach wasn't restricted enough... The other day my family had gotten so much pizza and bread and wings and desserts and stuff...I fell into temptation... I took a little appetizer plate and put a small sized pizza slice on it....picked off all the meat…

I am 11 days post op gastric bypass and I have had a stapling pain in my lower stomach on the right side. It wraps around to my hip as well. It doesn't hurt if I stay still or lay flat on my back, but once I start moving or lift my legs, it is a stabbing pain that takes my breath away. I've tried heat and ice, but they don't help too much. I'm hoping it just a pulled muscle and not something more serious. It's not a constant pain, bit it comes and goes. I made an appointment for tomorrow, but I wanted to see if anyone else has had this issue. Thanks in advance Sent from my SM-G935T using BariatricPal mobile app
