I was stalled for a while. I have been working out 6 days a week at a boot camp and eating well with not much of movement. Maybe I was gaining muscle mass. Anyhow today when I got on the scale, I had tears of joy. Finally reached ONEDERLAND.. HW: 329 lbs SW: 283 lbs CW: 199.6 lbs

I haven’t tried on a costume in years, mainly because I could never fit anything. For some reason this one is so symbolic to me. I wanted the girls to dress up in a incredible costume but they had other ideas of what they wanted to be this year. Maybe next year ? . . Do we like it ?? or NO ?? . .

I’m close to 6 months out of gastric sleeve surgery. Everything is going well. Getting adequate hydration is getting easier, it had been a struggle. My body is still adjusting. But, all in all I am still feeling very glad that I made this decision. I was active and happy before, but some (a lot of) things are so much easier now. Being able to go into a regular store and buy a raincoat, fitting well in airline seats, etc. I worry less about my long term health. I worry less about how I’m perceived on a daily basis. Those small anxieties were taking far more of brain space than I realized. People in general are nicer to me, which is nice (it makes life easier), but takes s…

Long story short, fine gentlemen in blue had to visit my home because of a domestic violence issue perpetrated by my "recovering" "former" meth addict brother. Well, the guy looks at my ID, knows my brother did drugs........ And my ID is from a year before my surgery..... And so, he gives me the run down, flashlight in my eyes checking me out and all that and was quizzing me on drug use..... Because in his mind that was the only explanation for the dramatic differences between my ID and what I look like now. Like.... Marshmallow Man vs Walking Dead character... I laughed, showed him my only immediate proof, which was my "special meal card" my doctor gives out to patie…

13 months post op. This saved my life. Everyone asks me if I would do it again. And I would !! It's hard. It's not a magic pill. You have to be ready for a life change. Not just something that will shrink your stomach so you can't eat as much. It's only a tool. As long as you go into it like that, I believe you will be successful. I am 170 lbs down in 13 months and it is life changing.

A year ago I was at the hospital, getting ready to go into surgery. A little scared, yet very excited. Today I'm 121 lbs. lighter. Went from 288 to 167 and have only 7 lbs. to go to reach my goal. Like others have said, I wish I had done this a long time ago. [emoji4] I love this site! I've read so many stories, received a lot of advice, great recipes, etc. Thanks to everyone who posts.

One of the things that I've stayed away from after surgery is processed foods. I realized that I use a lot of Splenda which is not good for me. I tried Stevia but I didn't like the taste. While watching a You Tube video I learned about Monk Fruit Sweetener. It is natural sweetener and it is many times sweeter than sugar. I bought a bag of it at Whole Foods. After using it, I had the most intense stomach cramps and diarreha since my surgery. It turns out the Monk Fruit Sweetener was mixed with Erythritol. In fact, erythritol was listed as the first ingredient with Monk Fruit Sweetener listed second. Lesson learned, I went on Amazon and found 100% Monk Fruit Sweetener. Thi…

I'm in the process of band to bypass revision, and I find that progress pictures and success stories help keep me determined to keep working toward what I want. I'm 5'9" my highest recorded weight was 367, I'm 335 now. Anyone around these starting weight stats? Sent from my LG-H872 using BariatricPal mobile app

So around the first couple months of 2018, I decided my health was bad enough to do the drastic. Weighing at around 475lbs, out of control diabetic, a lot of health stuff, couldn’t do anything hardly but sit around dying, slowly. Fast forward to October 2018, day of my surgery was at 430lbs. It’s September 2019, I’m at 318lbs. I feel so much better! I’m in my first stall. My goal is 200lbs or under. My diabetes is nowhere to be found, from the day of my surgery to now, it’s totally good, no more insulin. I’m going to the gym2-3 times a week. I have a few pics to see. Tried to do before, during and after in order. The last pic is about a week ago.

Continue to be mostly satisfied with results. Band is still moody at times. Life is good

Yesterday I drove 2.5 hours to meet up with my very dear friend that had gastric bypass only 3 months before I had my sleeve. We enjoyed our day together shopping for new clothes, talking about life and the joys and struggles of WLS. She has also lost 100lbs.

I consider this my biggest success. Not the weight loss. But the fact that I am now pursuing my personal trainer certifications with a specialty in obesity. I want to specifically work with bariatric patients who may struggle to exercise, and may rely on the surgery to just help with diet when it should be a comprehensive lifestyle change. I am so excited that I may someday make a difference to even just one person. One person that I was just not even a year ago. This surgery has changed not only my weight, but my mentality and my life. I want to pay it forward.

Hi! I’m pre vsg. My surgery date is June 15th and I’m soooo ready and soooo not ready at the same time! I’m 5’6 and a half for those who count halves lol. My starting weight is 201. I fluctuate between 198 and 202... I’m considered a low BMI. I’m high risk for diabetes and didn’t want to go down the path I’ve seen my mother and my grandmother go down. So I thought if I had the opportunity to stop this now I should. I’m hopeing to see other women’s success with similar stats to mine for some motivation and to keep me from being too scared of what may come. Any ladies in this category if you have any tips or advice, I’m all ears! Excited to begin a new adventure in which I …

5 years ago today was my VSG. Pre-op, I purposed myself to be THE perfect patent, to do everything as I was told to, to follow ALL the directions and do great. and, I did. I lost about 85 lbs of weight and loved life. However, I had a very gentle carb creep and hardly noticed it. Then, one night at work I thought it might be ok to have some watered down diet soda, and that was the beginning of a pretty big spiral downward. I regained in the neighborhood of 35 lbs. It took a pretty major health scare to get me back on track about 20 months ago. I got back on track, went strict Keto, and have lost my regain. I've still got about 25 lbs to go before I'm ready for my pla…

Unfortunately, it took a serious health scare (my heart stopped in ICU) and my mother and father in-law passing from cancer to take my heath seriously. I had the sleeve done June 2014. High weight 254 day of surgery 234. I’m maintaining in the 130’s. There is no secret to bariatric weight loss. Follow your plan. Learn the basics. log in an app, hydrate, exercise/activity. If you gain call your team. Never be afraid to ask for help.

So, some big news... 1. My trainer has me training to race two 5ks. One in August, one in October. Has me at the highest incline possible on the treadmill. It's killing meeee. lol. 2. I am taking my personal trainer certification exam in December! Studying October and November and taking the exam after my cosmetic surgery. 3. My long-term goal for Summer 2020 is to become a volunteer firefighter. I am getting a tour next week to do auxiliary work in the meantime which is just supportive (like helping the firefighters cool off and getting stuff they need, etc). Holy shiiiiiiit. Never in my wildest imagination....

Hello Everyone! I am post-op RNY, surgery date July 2014, starting weight 302, surgery date weight 290. Today, I’m 190, and I’m four days post-op from an abdominoplasty. Surgeon was able to remove 15 ponds of skin. I’m hopeful to be 175-180 when I’m healed and all my swelling goes down. Here are before and after (the “after” is from 2 weeks ago at the beach, before my plastic surgery). I like to come and read about everyone’s successes. Your stories are always so familiar and comforting to me. Very few people understand the struggles we’ve faced, the nastiness, the hateful attitudes, the condescension (“hey, you should feel lucky we even MAKE clothes in your s…

I bought some gym shorts a month ago with no intention of every wearing them. I wore them this past weekend. Not at the gym, but around my father who was/is the root cause of all the emotional BS that triggered my overeating and self-esteem issues. He didn't say a word, other than to scold me for having a thigh tattoo he just now saw (that I've had for years). I haven't worn shorts since I was 10 years old because I was so ashamed of my thighs. I am now 30. So, after 20 years... shorts are back in the wardrobe.

My before and "almost after"! Hoping to lose 15 more pounds and tone up, but I'm feeling pretty good. Just fit into my initial goal jeans! It's been a rough year for me since my surgery on 7/2/18. I was rocking it with the exercise for the first several months. Then my company got bought, had a very stressful first project at work that lasted months, and my mom's terminal illness worsened and she passed. While sometimes I feel bad about myself for not losing as quickly as I'd hoped, I know I've done great. I'm certain that if I hadn't had the surgery before my life derailed this last 10 months, I'd be pushing 300 lbs and would have had an even harder time dea…

I had gastric sleeve june 2017. Starting weight 330 . day of surgery 319. I am now 199 and holding. I went from a size 24 to a size 12. I've lost 131 lbs and been able to keep it off. Hi all, quick update, I am close to my 10th month post-op. I was VSG’d 03/10/17, HW: 405, SW: 385, CW: 230. My goal weight is 190.. It is very hard to shed last 40 lbs, it seems to be attached to my body LOL.. I am very thankful to this process; it is definitely a great tool. However, it is 50/50 we need to engage the other 50% and battle every day with our old bad habits. I am satisfied with my weight loss, but really wanted to lose more weight by now, I hit stalls 3 times, and they last for weeks.. I don’t even look at the scale, now is my enemy (LOL) , instead I rely on clothing and noticed I am losing size… I increased my workouts the last 4 months, I do 4-5 t…

I can't believe it, almost a year ago I was 316 pounds. I was nervous, and eating every horrible and unhealthy meal I thought I would never be able to eat again because I knew I was about to change my life on December 14, 2016. I was sleeved on 12/14/16 and it was truly one of the best life decisions I ever made. It was not easy, from being in and out of the ER due to dehydration in my early stage.. barely being able to eat anything besides liquids/apple sauce for 2 months.. to now being able to eat honestly anything, just with portion control. I'm well known on social media, and people always ask me what do I eat, what should they eat, did I get additional surgery etc..…

I wish I had a pic of before original surgery lapband where highest was 227 in 2009. I will find one . But for this part of my journey revision after band complications I was 188 and was starting to feel pain in my whole body. I know my pics are nowhere as dramatic as most. But I can tell my body hurts less. 25 to 30 pounds before I am no longer over weight according to charts . First two are before Rest after about month I am starting to feel my dorky self.

40yo 6’5” and currently at 255lbs after gastric sleeve in Sept 2018. Started at 345lbs. Weight plateaued about 6 weeks ago but working hard at the gym and feeling good. Looking for advice on training but also fun to read everyone’s stories. Currently eating 2000 “clean” calories per day and lifting heavy 3 days per week.

I would love to see great stories on how you feel today after years from your surgery! My name is Char and I had my surgery 2015, I started at 230 lbs and I am currently around 160-170lbs. I can say that I feel so great with how my health improved, my self confidence, my love to myself and the people who surrounds me with positive outlook in my journey. Sure, there are frustrations in my journey but it is all part of the process! Being where I am today made me a better and stronger person... I don’t think I could have not done it if it wasn’t for my children!

In 2 days it’ll be one year since my sleeve. This morning I was a few ounces below 200. It was a great feeling, I have not weighed that since I was 18. This past year was full of changes and looking back I just wanted to say thank you to all of you on here who post and/or reply. This site has been a great tool full of information as well as a place where people relate to what I am going through and I them. I’ve read some inspirational posts as well as those of heartache and funny ones as well. I will continue my journey, taking what I have learned from here and keep moving forward. A big thank you again to the BariatricPal family, you all rock.

I was in the big and tall section, looking for just a tall shirt was a specific reason. The salesperson didn't think I belonged there.

It’s been a while since I’ve posted on this app. I just want to say to everyone post wls, you are successful. Take this journey and make it your own. Be selfish. Put yourself and your health first. Hold yourself accountable and trust the process. Surgery doesn’t make the emotional eating goes away. It doesn’t make it bad to eat those things that aren’t healthy. I fell into that trap of thinking I was exempt and could slide by. But I got myself together and I began to focus on healthy living. I hope this picture inspires you to go forth and become a more healthier you. Take advantage of this new lease on life. Envision how you want your journey to be and make it hap…

I'm going to post my (almost) 3 month success. I have conquered a brutally painful post-op ulcer. A gallbladder removal where it had to be peeled off my liver from having embedded itself into it. And a hernia repair where my intestinal junction had started to separate. All in the last 2.5 months. I am healed up completely now (still a week from exercise post-gallbladder) and ON TRACK LIKE A NORMAL PATIENT. Suck it, unjust medical complications! And I am officially my lowest adult weight since 2013. 63lbs down since September. 53lbs down since 11/1 surgery. And that's my mini-success.

Well, folks, I had my RNY in July, 2014. I started at 302 pounds. I finally, finally, FINALLY, F I N A L L Y!!!, hit onederland this morning!!! I stalled out 2 years ago at around 205, and never lost another ounce. Bounced between 205 and 215, and just got fed up. Went back on my post-RNY regimen around Thanksgiving, and this morning was 199.8!!!!! I cannot believe it!! I never thought I’d see the scale dip below 200. 4.5 years, but, if you work at it, and just stick to the program, it will work!!! *hugs for everyone!!!!* Carmen
