TMI BM Stuff
Needing Fibre suppliments is pretty common post surgery. the recommended 25-30gm of fibre per day is hard to acheive with reduced stomach capacity and protein focus! Psyillium husks, 1 tablespoon incorporated into a meal.. great along with chia seeds on top of some greek yoghurt and berries. I have been obsessed with home made seed crackers lately. Having the best BMs of my life right now! They might work for you too. Plenty of recipes online, search flaxseed crackers. My recipe is basically 1 cup Flaxseeds (soaked in 2 cups water until the gel forms.) to which I add.. 1/2 cup sunflower seeds 1/2 cup pepitas (pumpkin seeds) 1/4 cup chia seeds 1/4 cup sesame seeds (optional) sea salt flakes Red pepper flakes Onion + garlic powder to taste (or any herbs spice combo you like) Mix, spread thin and bake on low until golden and dry, flip the ensure thoroughly dried. Completely cool before.. breaking (or if you've remembered to prescore before baking 😂) snap into crackers, store in air tight container.

Am I overreacting, or was this nurse out of line?
I am so sorry and upset that she treated you this way! Her job is to be supportive, not to diminish your amazing achievements for a minor (and very normal) fluctuation in your weight. I would put your feelings in writing to the clinic. Don't let her or anyone steal your light! You're doing a amazing job! 🤗

Fit for TV. The reality if the biggest loser. Anyone watching?
Really well said! I never watched more than a few snippets when Biggest Loser aired here. The mini series on Netflix (in Australia anyway) was fascinating and scary... Bob's and the producer's etc..total lack of remorse was horrifying! Every point you have made is exactly what I was thinking too! No wonder we all struggle so much, those attitudes still prevail today! 😪

6 month Surgiversary!
Thanks very much for your support! We do all have different metabolisms, and I know I shouldn't compare myself to others! Someone I know had the sleeve 4 months before me and has lost 57kg so far, but she's 24 years younger lol and started at a much higher weight. We are all different! I am OK chugging along slowly! ? Post Meno weight loss is very difficult I know I would never have been able to lose the 20 kg without the sleeve!

6 month Surgiversary!
Thanks for your kind words and support. It's encouraging to hear that it's not always a 6 month miracle for everyone ! Yes I think slow and steady is good, so long as it's heading in the right direction I am OK! ??

6 month Surgiversary!
Thank you @Arabesque you just always have the best things to say!! I had sort of not factored any of the heavy stuff that's happened in, and of course, it will have been affecting me mentally and emotionally, I know I have not dealt with either my Mum passing so unexpectedly, nor my husbands cancer fight and health issues, there is still a lot of self medication going on! But I am proud of my achievement so far, looking forward to continuing the journey, hopefully to goal, but if that seems impossible I will revisit that, I am just so glad I did this! Thanks again, you're a lovely person! ?

6 month Surgiversary!
Well here we are, 6 months in from sleeve surgery. Wow were did that half year go! I have lost a total of 20kg (44 lbs) which is a lot less than I thought I would have lost at this point. I am 25kgs (55lbs) to goal. so not even half the weight I wanted to lose. Whilst it is a bit of a disappointment, I am still thrilled with the loss, with how clothes fit now! I have lost a lot of inches! gone from an Aust/UK size 20 to a 16 or even 14 in some brands! (US size 16-10) this blows my mind! ??? I had been on a stall for 6 or so weeks, and just last week loss kicked off again -Sloooooowly. ? If I am honest, I have not done as much as I could to help weight loss. It's winter here, and it's been cold, the carb cravings! Oh and the wine ? I must admit I have been a tad naughty lately! My goal weight might not be realistic, but I am happy with how things are going.. if a bit frustrated at the very slow pace of loss. ? I do know there's things I could be doing if I really wanted to, but I am content with the concept that I now have this tool to help, that no food is on the "never" list! I have been so lucky with what I can tolerate (pretty much everything except cola drinks) I just can't eat much of it. For anyone contemplating surgery, it is Not a guarantee of dramatic weight loss, it still is a lot of work to get the weight off. But geee it helps! ? I could never have lost this 20kg without the surgery! ?

Gosh, that's so annoying isn't it!! ? I too get sucked in on occasion! ... There I'll be minding my own business when a pre made meal will thrust its self into my hands with such seductive promise...? "Oh look, I'm all tasty, and easy, and healthy".. "you know you would rather not cook a bespoke meal after working all day" ? ...only to bitterly disappoint once cooked!! ????? ?
