  1. Omg, I’m exactly in the same situation. I’m 9 months post-op and my highest was at 263lbs and on surgery day I was at 249... I’m now at 181lb and I have been stuck between 184-179 since July 30th. I work out at least 4-5 days a week ( mostly cardio ) and I try my best to keep up with my protein, water intake as well. It is so frustrating cause I’m still 36lbs away from my goal weight. [emoji24]

  8. I don't want to jinx it but I too feel like my hair loss has slowed down a bit. Still losing but not as much as before. I went to my PCP and I asked her to put me spironolactone which will also help my hair grow back.

  10. Hair loss I have my VSG on 12/30/16 and I Have lost TONS of hair. Totally noticeable thinning hair, all over my head. I have lost total of 68lbs so far. I have been taking my vitamins and just started using this scalp spray called " PHYTO SPECIFIC " hoping it will it helps my hair grow back quicker. I know the shedding can't really be stopped but as long as I see some new growth, I'll be happy. I'm also going to see my PCP to see if I can get on Sprinolatcone. It is potassium sparing/aldosterone antagonist that is used for high blood pressure and can cause hair growth . Also, those hair fibers are for real saving me from a breakdown. They are good for covering the bald spots

  18. Zoloft is one of the safest meds for depression/panic attacks. I would ask your PCP to see if that's a good choice for you or not. Also weight gain is not a concern with Zoloft but there are other adverse events such as insomnia, dry mouth, Steven-Johnson syndrome, depression exacerbation, bleeding..... but again those are not very common side effects. Most people experience insomnia tho. As the natural product OTC goes, there is not a strong evidence that Mg citrate can help with depression/anxiety but it doesn't hurt to try but as long as you are not taking too much of it cause hypermagnesimia has very serious consequences. And just as a reference, I studying medicine and I am doctor of pharmacy. Good luck and I hope this helps

  20. A little background about me VSG on 12/30/16 HW: 263 SW:249 CW:199.5 I have been stuck on 199 pretty much since the beginning of may, I keep bouncing between 197-200lbs. It's so frustrating and depressing when you are doing everything you should be doing and still no result based on the scale. I have been eating mostly proteins and trying to get all my fluids in. My carbs consumption is max of 15g, if that. I walk/jog or do elliptical at least for 4 miles a day. So I don't know what else to do. On top of all that I have lost 1/3 of my hair, definitely noticeable amount of hair and still shedding like crazy which I wouldn't care if I was seeing results ( on scale). Size wise, I can definitely see that I have been shrinking, even in the past month that scale has been going up and down. What worries me is when I have to go back to see my surgeon, he didn't take measurements of my body, he will only see the number on the scale and I don't want him to think I'm not following my diet and exercise correctly. What am I doing wrong ??? Please help!
  21. I'm in the same boat, mine started about 3 months after my surgery. My surgery was on 12/30/16 and I have lost TONS of hair! You can definitely see my scalp. It's so scary and depressing. I have been taking all vitamins and otc stuff for hair which as a pharmacist I know half of them don't work but still to make myself feel better I take them. I had to buy those hair fibers to spray on my scalp to hide the bald spots. I still love my sleeve and if I had to go back I would still get the sleeve cause it was the best thing I could have ever done. I still pray everyday that my hair comes back or stop shedding so much.
  22. I really hope this is temporary.
  23. I am almost at 5 months post op as well.. 4.5 months to be exact. I have lost 1/3 of my hair.. it's visibly thin, you can see my scalp( it's that thin [emoji30]), I have been taking my multivitamins and I just started taking another vitamin capsule that's for hair and nail and skin ( it has zinc and biotin and Vit A and copper) hoping that would help lessen the shedding. I wouldn't worry about my hair falling as long as I saw new baby hair but I haven't yet. I hope that it grows back. I have been using hair fiber spray to kinda hide the bald spots. It definitely sucks but the more you stress about the more hair falls out... I keep telling myself that this is just part of the process and IT WILL GROW BACK ( hoping so [emoji1317]) . So keep positive!
  24. Sleeved on 12/30/16 HW: 263 SW:249 And this is today!!! Yay
  25. I got sleeved on 12/30/16 and lost total of 61lbs from my heaviest and 47lbs since my surgery. About a month ago I noticed that my hair started shedding like crazy. I can definitely tell that my hair has thinned out ALOT! I'm so scared it won't come back. I even cut my hair short so I wouldn't see as much hair coming out but it was no help. It is still falling out like there is no tomorrow. I have been taking all my vitamins but I invested in a Hairmax laser comb which is FDA cleared for improving thinned out hair. I just stated using it about a week ago so I can't tell if it is gonna work or not. Have you tried anything? Please let me know if you find anything helpful for your hair loss cause I would like to try it as well.
  26. Sleeved on 12/30/16 ... HW: 263 SW:250 CW:201.6 ..had many stalls so far but I'm still happy with how much I have lost in less than 4 months
  27. I feel the same way. I have lost 47lbs from my highest weight and 33lbs since the surgery. Mine was on 12/30. I have had couple of stalls and the most recent one took 2 weeks. I feel like I'm not losing as much as I should. I feel full real quick so I know for fact that I'm not eating as much as I should. I have been walking everyday at least 5 miles a day so I'm hoping that would help the weight come off faster but not really..
