So glad you posted this! We are basically twinzies. Sleeved 12/19:
Hw 270
Sw 255
Current - 222.2- and I've been in this 222-225 for 3 weeks! (I'm 5'7") I need to do something different. I see the dr on Thursday. Before surgery I LOVED Water. I was great about it. Drank a gallon a day. Now, I struggle. It just seems to make me nauseous. I know this is something I need to work on. Otherwise - I stay around 1000-1100 calories. 60-80 grams on Protein (60 is a bad day. It's usually 75-80). I drink 2 or 3 Protein Shakes a day and eat chicken or turkey for protein.
What are you doing about Vitamins? I bought Journey 3+3 from bariatriceating.com but they made me super nauseous (threw up a couple times) and dr told me to d/c for the time being. It helped. Now I need to find something else.

First, congrats on your progress!!!! I just bought my Vitamins from Walmart. I know the Bariatric specific are supposed to be better but they made me nauseous. I take B-12, Calcium, d-3, c and Biotin combo. Also protonix which has helped with my nausea SO much! I used to drink a ton of Water but right after surgery I came down with pancreatitis and all I could keep down was water for 42 days... so I struggle with my water intake. I do 60-80 grams of Protein a day and stay between 600-800 calories a day. Compared to what I've read, my calories seem low but that's what my NUT said so...600-800 it is! I take a 2 mile walk or do a Jillian Michaels workout 3-4 days a week.. I need to step up my exercise and I could give a list of excuses why I can't .. 1 year old twins.. work.. sleep.. but they are all just that.. excuses!

Also, I keep stalling for like 2-3 weeks then lose 6-10 lbs in a week..

And congrats to you! I think we need to remind ourselves where we came from. And, omg, twins! 1 year old! You have to be exhausted! Thanks for the tip on Vitamins. I think that's what I'm going to do too. I need to schedule another appt with NUT and go over everything I'm doing. My goal has been to be under 200 (199) by mid may (vacay to Mexico). I need to kick it up a couple notches

I have never been very good with remembering where I started. I always focus on where I need to be,(which is why I have failed in the past), so I've been taking before and after pictures which has really helped me stay positive and believe in the process. Lol my doctor set a goal for me to be at or below 200 by April 14th... I really have to amp up my exercise! I am due for a lose about now. My personal goal is 174 by August 19th.. that would be 100 lbs in 8mths.

It's a girls trip with my 3 besties. We have all turned 40 in the last couple years and we could finally all find 5 days to get away. 2 weeks ago I had to fly to LA for work (I live in Ohio) and although it still wasn't comfortable (is it for anyone not in 1st class?) I definitely felt less massive in my seat and I wasn't dreading it like I usually was. So, 45ish lbs lost made a difference! I have the same goal. 170-175. Same time frame. Here's hoping!

I was sleeved 12/5. My weight loss has definitely slowed down but when I make sure I'm getting my Water and Protein in and moving it picks up pretty quickly. I love my tool and it has allowed me to lose 65 pounds in less than three months so I'm grateful even in the middle of a stall :47_tired_face:

My weight loss has slowed. Surgery date was 12/30/16 and I have lost about 40 lbs. I had to have another (unrelated) surgery to my parathyroid last week so I haven't been able to exercise for a few weeks nor have I been able to get all my Protein in. So..perhaps that is why my weight loss has slowed. It is frustrating, the scale hasn't moved all month.

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣
