The surgery went well and the doc repaired a MASSIVE hernia....the surgical nurse said that it was the largest she had ever seen...that made me feel all warm an fuzzy...LOL I must admit that I had two days of "OMG...What the h*ll did I do to myself?!?!" But I am starting to feel a lot better....no fill yet, but I am on creamy soups, etc until Wednesday and let tell you, it does not take much to fill me up. I totally think I can do this!

What a fantastic day! Started with a bike ride with DH and 26 yo son who has taken up cycling like us because he wants to lose weight. Then DH and I spent several hours setting up our local hall for a charity dance we were hosting. We are doing a Lions bike ride over four days in April and need to raise $350 each. our dancing and other friends turned out and we reached our target - and danced all night! couldn't have done that pre-band!

What a great day! I don't get them often because my loss has been slow. I'm literally losing at the exact same rate I was before the surgery. 3 months out and 36 lbs. BUT 1. Today I finally hit Onederland. Yay! 2. I hit my halfway mark. 70 Lbs. gone, 70 lbs. to go.Yay! 3. Went to get my hair cut short today because it has started to fall out and when I walked in the hairdresser didn't recognize me because of the weight loss. Yay! When you're not sure if it shows yet, that's a nice thing to hear. I'm stoked.

My weight has maintained, but I'm losing inches like crazy!!!! How in the world does this happen?!?!!

Hey everybody. I need some encouragement and/or advice. I'm seriously considering getting sleeved, and it's totally freaking me out. I NEED it, as I am nearing 21 years of age, am 5' 5'', and weigh 240 pounds. There is high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes and heart disease on both sides of my family, both of my parents have sleep apnea and I am borderline. So I know that it's not only to look good anymore, it's for my health. Change just scares me, and this would be a MASSIVE change. I just don't know what to do. Help :/

I was recently at a support group meeting, headed up by a clinical psychologist. He broke it down like this. 100 additional calories per day, 365 days a year.....36,500 calories and that equals approx. 10 lbs a year. None of us went to bed thin and woke up fat. It happened over time, over years. One year you weigh 7 lbs more than you did one year before, but hey, it's only seven lbs, easy to lose. Then we get accustomed to it and that's that. Then the next year, 6 lbs heavier, but it's only six lbs. In two years, that is 13 lbs. That is how it happens, that is how it happened with me. I remember when I woke up weighing 180, 'at least it is WAY under 200'. OMG, then all …

Today is my one year surgiversary! One year of my new life. It has gone so fast, seemingly in the blink of an eye. I have gone from 245 pounds to 133 pounds - 112 pounds gone! At my 6 week check-up at my surgeon's office, one of the women working there said when they see me for my one year check-up, they wouldn't be able to recognize me. I didn't really believe it, still harboring fears I would fail, like all my other weightloss attempts. I wanted to believe her, but I didn't. I do now! I have come to some realizations about myself during this journey: While I always felt I had self-esteem, I now realize it was for my abilties rather than for really liking myse…

It's been 3 1/2 months since my surgery and I have finally hit 50 lbs down. I have to say that out if all the weight loss diets and all I am the most proud of this accomplishment. It's been a difficult road and to finally lose this weight is great. Still have quite a ways to go but it's fantastic. Pre Op: 298lb / Surgery Day: 288lb / Week 1: 278lbs / Week 2: 267.5lbs / Week4: 263.7lbs.

Well the saying goes "Time flies when you're having fun", I cannot believe that today marks my one year surgiversary. Although I have 20lbs to go to meet my goal, I am so happy and proud of my accomplishments so far within this past year. I have managed to go from a size 20/22 & XXL to a 12 & M/L. I haven't seen those sizes since I was in high school and that has been almost 20 years. I can say that this was one of the BEST decisions that I have made and I did it for myself and no one else. I plan to post pics early next week because I will be celebrating this weekend my success thus far!!!! Once I get to my goal weight, I will really be able to celebrate!!!!…

Hi all, I'm one of those people who struggles with head hunger from the time my kids go to sleep till I'm sleeping. I have been struggling with this for years and obviously since being banded its harder because before I would just give in and eat. Two nights ago I was really tired and after putting the kids to bed I went to bed myself, watched some TV and went to sleep, no snacking or thinking of food. Last night I did my usual, cleaned up a bit, watched survivor, american idol and some Pope stuff. When I got in bed I realized I didn't have a snack or even think about one. First I almost felt like I wanted to go back down and have something. (I found these really…

I was banded 11/16/11. I got engaged 5/19/12 with a size 9 engagement ring. Since my surgery, I've lost 77 pounds. Last week while washing dishes (with my ring on like an idiot), my ring flew off, and down the drain!!!!! Luckily, my fiance was able to open the drain and get my ring before it was gone for good. The next day, I brought my ring to the jeweler to get resized. I am now a size 6 1/2!!!!!!! I haven't been that ring size since I was in my mother's womb I think. A little success story from a little scare...

I know I dropped this into my old 4 month thread, should have just started this instead since it is now 7 months.... Sorry for the double posting and don't mind the crappy pics, I took them at work this morning! As of 3-8-2013, I have noticed a few things.... 1. I have exactly ZERO ass left! 2.The Ohio winter has taken its toll and I desperately need some sun!

I just walked in the house and the first thing that crossed my mind was head to the kitchen and decide what to have for supper. I stopped myself and said why are you going to the kitchen your not hungry it's just what you are used to doing. Much like spending 10 minutes looking for your cigarettes then realizing you haven't bought a pack in 2 weeks because your quitting. I have been fat all my life, I have smoked since I was 11 that's 35 years. I have abused alcohol and or other drugs from the age of 14-35. Today was the first time I realized to change these behaviors all require the same things. Not only do you have to change the behavior you must…

I'M IN ONELANDER, YEAH!!!!!!! 199 LBS this am. I want to thank my LBT family. A lot of you have been here for me from my very first day. You taught me, you inspired me and you support me through thick and thin. Thank you, doesn't seem to be enough, but it's all I have, my undying gratitude!

So today is 5 weeks post-op and I'm down 28lbs!! I hit a plateau last week (actually gained 1 pound) but this week in lost 5!! I feel so damn goood! Is this about average, though! Just curious.. I love heard mixed. I know the average is 1-2lbs per week but I'm curious to know if it's average amongst the LBT members!

I'll keep it short and sweet, I promise Height: 5'1" BEFORE: (left is before, right is after losing the first 40lbs) Weight: 241 Size: 18/20 pants, XXL tops, 40DD bra AFTER: Weight: 138 (up to about 145 in these pics since they're a little outdated) Size: 6 pants, S/M tops, 34C bra I wanted to set a reasonable goal for myself, so I basically just set the goal to lost 100lbs, from 241 to 140. Now that I've gotten past that in only 8 months, I think I'm going to go for 125-130. As a frame of reference, here is a picture of me from about 8-9 years ago when I was in high school: I'm so happy and loving life again. This was tr…

I just posted this in the Aussie room and thought I'd ask here as well to get a wider and hopefully more help Hi guys, I need some help please. I had two weird "attacks" last night, first one about 8 and lasted around 10 minutes, then second about 10 that lasted nearly an hour. Had the ambulance here, I thought I was gonna die. Both times it happened within 10 minutes of me eating. I haven't had any previous problems. The pain started dull in my stomach them progressed until I was doubled over and I was screaming. I couldn't help it and I'm not a wuss, I can usually handle pain quite well. The pain went right across my stomach and then up under my right ribs, it w…

I've lost ten 5 lb bags of flour since December 17th...51 lbs!...I can't imagine carrying all that flour around all day now, but I did carry that weight and it was fat! I have a horrible relationship with the camera but I do plan on getting some pic's up.... So yeah...thanks for letting me brag, I'll brag again when I lose the next 50!!
-
I am loving this band. I started out at 298 lost 20 lbs preop and have lost 51 lbs since surgery. I work out 5 times a week and eat very healthy. I feel amazing and have so much energy to spend on my kids. Best decision ever!!!! Adrianna - Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk

I am so excited today. I can officially report that I have loss 50 pounds and I am out of the 300s!!! I am so happy I can hardly contain myself. I am trying to upload a before pic (pink shirt- family vacation last fall) and the after pic (black shirt- Mardi Gras, had to crop because it was Mardi Gras- I don't want to offend anyone LOL). I am so thankful to have somewhere to go to share not only my concerns but my joys. Not to many people know about my surgery. My hubby is working out/ and eating better and put on a shirt today he has not worn in almost a year. He has lost almost 30 pounds. Even my dog has lost 1.5 pounds. A family that works out together gets healthy toge…

Just want to get some feedback on what eating is suppose to feel like. I am taking in water; protein shakes; and popsicles. It takes me all day to get down one cup of water; 12oz protein shake and one popsicle. How does it feel to be full?

I just have to brag a little...most my friends don't want to hear me go on and on so I will tell you all....I am 3 months today feeling so much better and also have lost 52#!!!! It feels so good to buy a 14-16 instead of 18-20. Most people in my small town know I had surgery but they don't compliment me much. I went to a party the other day out of town with people who had seen me in December before surgery. They went on and on about how I look....it felt amazing. I felt like a movie star for a short time! Anyways that's my brag now good luck and continue on to each and everyone out there!!!

I'm 4 1/2 months out and I can't be any happier with my scars. I know I will never be in a bikini but I love the fact that I can barely see them! 5 tiny scars that are fading with each day. In fact, my most noticeable one is from my drain. Thank goodness for meticulous surgeons!

Well after being sick with the flu 3 weeks ago I had lost 4 pounds. But after getting well 3 came back but that's ok. My friend introduced me to the virgin diet. I hate the word diet but I read the book anyway. A lot of the healthy eating is what I already do but it showed me a way to fine tune it. So I'm going to try it out and see how it goes! Hey guys, So I thought maybe it's time to share a success story, I had my surgery 25th June 2011, my starting weight was 231lbs and now it's 152, I worked really hard to get to where I am. I had a lot of second thoughts to uploading before and after pictures, really didn't have guts but I guess it's time that I did, I still think I need to lose some more, but this is where I'm at now If you have any success stories, please share them

Today i had my annual mammo. I was escorted to a dressing room. There were several rooms in a group, doors open, and my tech was looking into each one. Finally she stopped at one, said, "ok, go ahead and change, gown open in front, come out when you're finished changing. Bring your purse, leave your clothes." a clean pink print gown lay folded in the chair. I sadly smiled, said thanks, all the while thinking, " ah ok, she was looking for the room with the special, BIG gown in it". I put the gown on, and it fit. All the ties inside and out tied. There wasn't volumes of heavy material wrapped around me, skimming my calves. Hmmmm this is weird. When i stepped out, i see ot…

Hi there! I took the first picture back in November, the second is from tonight. I am down 48 pounds, and I was so excited to see that I can finally tell a difference. I have a long way to go, but thought I would share my first small achievement on this journey. Surgery was Jan 18th, lost 24lbs pre-op and 24 post-op so far.

I had my sleeve done on July 5, 2012 and have had great success. I am down 75 lbs. my husband wanted to do it as well but because he wasn't on my insurance, mine covered the surgery and his didn't, he couldn't have it. Well we were finally able to get him on my insurance and now he is having his surgery on Monday, March 11, 2013! I am so excited for him. He is to an he's anxious. I can't wait for us both to be as happy as I feel right now

I admire all the success stories and before and after pictures but I just don't share the same enthusiasm that everyone has about this surgery. It's the worst and I regret that I had it. I'm well over a year post op however, I've lost 49lbs. I can't lose any more weight and it's frustrating having a stall for so long. Exercise????? I do that twice a day for 4-5 days a week I've paid over five grand so far for personal trainers I even had a personal chef to help prepare healthy meals for me so that I wouldn't fall off. I've had countless tests and the doctors haven't found out why I stopped losing weight. I don't expect anyone to respond because it won't happen and because…

So as of this morning I am down 92 lbs. Egads! I am beyond excited. 8 more lbs and I am buying myself a Kindle Fire. Yes, I could go out and buy it now but I am determined to wait until I meet that 100 lb lost goal. In the past, I could never meet a weight loss goal. I am going to stick to my commitment that I made myself. For me, I found that small goals work best. My bandiversary is on May 23rd. My goal is to be living in "wunderland" by that date. If I am at 199, I will have met that goal. That is my focus right now. When I meet it, there will be some celebrating going on! If you hear a loud noises from the St. Louis area, you will know that is me hoopin and hollerin! …
