I have reached my first goal of getting down to 200 lbs. I have lost 28 lbs in 6 weeks 4 days! I am so excited about my weight loss and I feel great. I can see "onderland" from here! I haven't been below 200 lbs in 10 years and looking forward to that scale at the doctor's office not having to be put on the 200 mark.

For the people who don't know me my name is Corey. I started my preop diet in October of 2012 at 475lbs. I was sleeved on 1/28/13, on that day I weighed in at 450lbs. As of today I am at 382lbs, and I can already feel a major difference in things I can do now that I couldn't before. I couldn't walk for more then ten minutes at a time before the surgery, now I go for an hour plus walk almost everyday! I think the hardest part for me so far has been reinventing my relationship with food..... Food use to be my goto for everything. I got depressed, I ate. If I was bored, I ate. If I was happy or celebrating something, I ate. Now I find constructive stuff to do when or if I ne…

Hello Everyone.. I have been on this page previously under a similar name LifeBackNye.. I couldn't remember my password so I am here again LifeBackNye7. I remember stalking the forums when I was at the begining stages of this process. I would go back and forth during my journey and happy to say that I was sleeved yesterday! The first night was very hard for me. a lot of gas pains! Wow never thought I would be able to live through so much pain. My doctor also removed my gallbladder and fixed a hernia so I have had a lot more pain then others may have had. Passed my leak test, very excited about that. Have been up walking around and boy did thst help. I was sleeved …

What a life changing experience having my Lap-Band has been!! I have lost 110lbs since being banded July 23. People have said I don't even look like the same person. Although, I always see the inner fat girl, haha. I have been obese since childhood & I haven't always had much self-confidence. The last 2 months or so, I have noticed an increase in attention from many of my male co-workers. I am blown away by the increase in this extra attention & honestly, I am loving it!!! It gives me such a boost of confidence & I start thinking, "maybe I am good looking!" lol.

For those of you struggling with weight loss the solution may be that you are too tight. Tighter is not always better it can halt your progress. I was at a plateau for 5 months which is very unusual. Although band functioning properly no weight loss. I remember when I was at 6.8 cc I was averaging 13 lbs a month but I was hungry and after getting continuous fills, result = no weight loss. I got up to 7.5 cc, now I'm back to 6.8 cc with good restriction. I like others thought tighter would make weight come off. Bander's don't be deceived find your green zone, losing weight and changing eating habits is the solution. I am happy to announce after being back at 6.8 cc I have …

Normally this isnt an issue with me, I experienced a stall early on which had me stable for the same length of time but I think the difference is that at that point i knew i was still going to lose, and now so close to my year mark it scares me that I may be all done loosing... When i started my journey last year i told myself that if I hit 160 i would be fine.. well guess where the scale stopped! Yep it goes between 158-160.. and i think because i have seen that scale move downwards for about a year now its hard for me to step on it and not see movement. I am scare that I am to the point …

So this coming Sunday, the 21st, will be my 3 month anniversary. Everything is going great and everything is much easier now. My friends still try to make it hard but my will power is back and I can just laugh it off and not worry what others are eating. I feel like I don’t need food the way I needed it before. I am so happy I have had the sleeve. Others at work and friends have even asked me about it and they have started looking into it themselves. So starting out I was 360lbs and the day of surgery I was around 340lbs. As of today I am down to 267lbs a total of 93lbs. I can taste 100 around the corner. I hope everyone else is having great results as well.

I just wanted to take a minute to say how much I love my sleeve. I was sleeved on 12/6. Since I started my preop diet I have lost 60 pounds (starting weight of 254). Two weeks ago I ran (slowly) on the treadmill a 5k. I have NEVER done that and I'm 41. This is my lowest weight since high school. I have made mistakes here and there and have grazed and eaten sweets but those incidents were being human and I forgive myself. Mostly, if I'm going to snack, I plan for it to be an isolated incident and am ok with that. I think seriously about what I'm putting in my body now and the sleeve has helped me do that. I have taken this seriously and have tried to eat well and work…

I just got back from a couple of weeks of beach camping. I had a cool NSV that I wanted to share. The beach we were on was 3k long. So perfect for a 6km jog in the mornings. I find it easier to run on soft sand in my trainers, rather than bare feet. One morning I got caught by a wave coming in, I tried to dodge it, but got some water in my shoe. This caused some wet sand to gather up in my sock. I could feel it rubbing against my foot, but I didn't think it was a big deal so kept running. I took my shoe off back at camp and I had a massive blister, under the arch of my foot. It got a little infected so I went to the local Dr to get some antibiotics. Pre surgery I ha…

  18. Soo stoked!! I just wandered into the Overweight neighborhood today - 29.7 BMI, 49 pounds down from 1/18 surgery. It's so nice to see collarbones, cheekbones... hell, ANY bones, for that matter! By the time I reach goal, I may actually get to fit into my goal size of 12 after all. (I won't even fathom a size 10 - I think I completely skipped that size growing up!)

When I weighed this morning it hit me that I only have 1 (ONE) more pound to lose until I hit my 100lb mark! I broke down in tears!! It has been an amazing journey so far...and I am almost to the "tipping point" (6 more pounds) to having less to lose than I have already lost! I am just about half way there! in 7 1/2 months! So I am shooting for my goal by my birthday in Oct....that's 7 more months.... I am going to try anyway! If you are just starting out....I hope your journey is a smooth and wonderful as mine has been so far!!

  20. Hi I am 15 days out and walking around the neighborhood and doing quite a bit of mall walking. But I am wanting to get back into the gym. I see my Dr on Thursday so I will ask too. But I am curious when did you go back to the gym? I just want to walk on the treadmill, elliptical and bike. No weights for 6 weeks I was told. I want to work my way back up to running again and figure out the whole hydration thing while sipping and running. I think it might be hard. I am down 32 lbs but I want to get the ball rolling even faster and hope going back to the gym will help. Thanks, Michelle

Today at work after sitting all morning I just felt the need to stretch. So I closed my office door at lunch and sat on the floor and stretched. And then I got up off the floor WITHOUT using anything to help pull myself up. Didn't grab the edge of my desk or the chair. I just got up. I'm almost down 50 lbs since 12/19 surgery and being able to move and walk more easily is just great. :-) Tara

I'm 3.5 weeks post op and cleared to eat most things, as long as I take small bites and chew chew chew. But still, I was apprehensive about going out to eat. I'd read so many posts about people getting stuck when in a restaurant, or always scoping out where the restroom was in case they had to leave the table to bring something up. But we had lunch out today and everything went really well! I'm so pleased! My restaurant experience was fantastic, notably because with my band, I don't have to be counting points or agonizing over the choice of restaurant (do they have low-cal options, big salads, a fruit plate, etc?) I so thrilled to be out of this "special diet" ment…

My glucose is down to normal, A1C is down from diabetic to just pre-diabetic a whole point and a half, cholesterol is normal. Having my clothes become loose and had to get a smaller size bra. I am so excited these very things scared the hell out of me, hence the reason I actually did something about my weight. Doc states he will fully take me off my BP meds if I continue to report lower levels THIS IS HUGE TO ME. I hate taking pills and my poor heart having to work so hard for so long. I was banded 11/8/12. Weighed 230 pounds and wire size 20 jeans. (I'm vertically challenged)Yesterday I weighed 187 and wore a snug 14 all day!!! I feel soooo great! My knees don't hurt and clothes are fun again. It is taking more patience than I thought it would. Fills seem too far apart sometimes! I find I lose when I low carb and plateau when I don't. Better than gaining any day! The best advise I got about my band was "the band doesn't work when you are eating, it works two hours later" so true! Still got my eye on those sassy size eight jeans I have hanging by my elliptical, but at least now it seems possible!

I am 3.2 weeks post op. I have been adhering to the post op diet with the exception of one flub but my question is: I am not feeling the hurting and restriction that I did. I guess maybe cause I am not pushing myself to be full, just satisfied? I ate 3 oz turkey taco meat last night. I had plenty and was satisfied but no pain or fullness in my chest. Now I'm freaking that maybe my sleeve is not working correctly. I think I'm just one big paranoid basket case with this.

I went to the endocrinologist today and my a1c is 5.3, so I am no longer pre-diabetic!! My health was the main reason I had the surgery. Both of my parents were diabetics and my dad died of kidney failure from it at 62. My mom died of a heart attack at 57. I want to live to see my son grow up, go to college and get married. My endo said that once I reach my goal weight she will release me to my PCP for yearly thyroid monitoring (I have Hashimoto's), so that's another NSV. My blood pressure was 104/64, which is awesome! Even though I'm a slow loser, the scale is always moving in the right direction. I love my sleeve! HW 270 SW 255 CW 220

So, I was a bit frustrated cause I didn't lose any weight in a week. I realized my protein shake contained too much sugar & carbs so I immediately threw it away & got a new one(GNC Total Lean). I was told my body is in starvation mode & survives by eating my fat. But because I was consuming sugar & carbs through my protein shake, it was surviving off the sugar & not my fat. Is this true? & if so will I start to lose weight now that I've changed shakes & won't be consuming as much sugar & carbs?

I just got some new shape-wear in the mail today (my old stuff was at least 2 sizes too big and from before surgery) and tried it on. While I had the new stuff on, I decided to try on some clothes from the back of my closet. I am 25 years old. My highest weight was around 330lbs, and I weighed 310 at surgery. I now weigh 240lbs (down 70 from surgery, 90 from highest weight). I fit into the prom dress I wore to my husband's senior ball. TEN years ago. When I was 15 years old!!! I just had to share!
