At 8 months (surgery was july10) I have lost 136 lbs and have reached my goal of not being overweight! I think I'm going to go for 15 more lbs but can't explain the satisfaction! During the pre phase the psych told me that to expect to lose 100 lbs in the first year was unreasonable. I would love to go tell him my numbers!!! It's a great feeling to not stand out unless you want to and know that when people look at you they see you, not your plus size!!! I will never regret this decision

I was considering purchasing Tony Horton's 10 minute training program and was wondering if anyone has tried it. If you gave tried it let me know your thoughts. I am on my treadmill 30 minutes 5 days a week, but if I could get a better result in 10 that would be great.

I know there are some of us, including myself, that get frustrated with the scale and really need other tangible benchmarks. I was at a place where I just felt like, "only 45 pounds so far':..."I have so much more to lose." It seemed daunting to me. I couldn't see how far I had come. For those of you who want to know what 45 pounds looks like. Here it is. And it is impressive!!

Some of the others were inspiring me so i thought I would dig around for some before pics. Mind you it was hard to find since I never let anyone take my pics... But Highest weight was 305. I am at 264 as of this morning. Surgery was 01/11/13. It is not coming off as fast as I would like but seeing the picture makes me realize it is actually coming of. I think I will take more pictures a long the way to help with my self esteem. I do not see myself as any different from the Christmas picture. But the camera doesnt lie. I need to get some full body pics next. Oh the horror of the thought! lol

Hi. Sleeved 4-23. I've never had an issue with dairy. For the last 2 days I've been throwing up my Atkins shakes or anything with dairy in it. Has anyone experienced this? So nauseous right now.

Yesterday I had to get an ultrasound and xray done of my abdomen. They gave me a hospital gown and told me change and wait in the waiting room. I looked at that gown and thought no way would it fit me! Well it did! And it covered me completely! There was a full length mirror in the bathroom and I looked so much smaller! I need to buy one for my home haha!

My first goal is to be under 300# by my birthday. My birthday is May 4th and I am at 312#. 13# in 18 days is going to be hard, but I think I can do it. My highest weight was 410# last April so in two pounds I will be down 100#.......SWEET

It's been at least a decade since I have been able to wear a Victoria's Secret bra. This week I bought one in store and three online. I went from a 40G to a 36DDD. JUST BARELY fitting in the VS sizes but none the less I'm excited (they would be way to big if they hadn't shrunk a little along the way). Now lets hope they don't shrink too much more in the last leg of this journey

Well, it's a bittersweet day. My family told me that my favorite shirt is too big for me to wear. I LOVE my shirt. It is my "go-to" shirt. I thought I always looked good in my shirt. I'm going to keep it like a security blanket and cuddle with it while I watch tv at night. Yay to a smaller size though!

8 months ago I weighed 237 pounds....today 155! I am 5 pounds away from goal!! I'm so excited! I eat anything and everything. I don't restrict myself but I do pay attention to what my body tells me. I don't do well with breads and pastas or red meat. I will eat it from time to time...whenever I get a craving but seafood seems to do better with my new tummy.

I see the light at the end of the tunnel! Today i hit 154 pounds which puts me in the normal weight range for my hight (5'6")... i went over my doctor's weight goal for me which was 160 pounds for my body frame (i have thick bones). Only 9 pounds till i hit goal, but what if i go below 145 pounds? i am afraid am going to keep losing and look sick. I am almost 6 months out and by one year out i might be 130 pounds or less who knows 9 pounds sound so easy... hopefully i will get there by 7 months out! Good luck everyone, and keep up the good work... This has both negatives and positives but as i was told yesterday, i should be very happy and grateful and not compl…

Ok surgery on Monday, but starting yesterday when I walk or move around my right pelvic bone HURTS. Anyone have an idea why???

i was banded 12/11/12 and have been doing ok. I spent last month playing with the same two pounds...ugh. Had my 3rd fill this past Monday. Spent the day shopping today with my daughter. She convinced me to try a black eyelet lace dress on so I grabbed a large and off I went. I started taking it off the hanger and noticed it was a medium but decided to give it a try. Much to my surprise it fit!!!!!!!! My daughter then said to me, "can I get that surgery?" (she is almost 19 and is obese as well). Not sure where to go from here......

I am 9 months post op- down just 55 lbs but I am working out like crazy! I decided to sign up for a sprint triathlon over the weekend to see how FIT I was compared to the last one I did with all my weight on. I felt GREAT and ended up taking approximately 30 mintues off my sprint distance triathlon! I was SO thrilled- finished 5th in my age division- something I never could have accomplished before my WLS. This really confirms that the commitment to having the surgery and the work afterwards to lose the weight and get fit- WOW- I really have accomplished alot in just 9 months! I was at my surgeon's office last week- no fill- but he kind of wrote my name down to the side …

To all those considering if the band is right for you, or you're banded but not sure if you made the right decision. I love my band

ok, I didn't know they were "skinny" jeans - I bought them on ebay, NYDJ, which are usually pretty pricey in a size 16, thinking I own a pair of the same brand and could wear them. The jeans arrived last night in what I thought was a pretty small mailing envelope...I opened them, shook them out and my heart sank. They looked like jeans for a small child! ( For no good reason, I decided to try them on anyway. They fit. Snugger than I prefer, but THEY FIT. OMG. I want to lose another 8-10lbs before I wear them in public, but I can't believe I got these "tiny" jeans over my ass! I'm going to leave them out of my closet so whenever I get tempted to NOT exercise or eat…

Hi, wondering if anyone has had the sleeve surgery & a Nissan Fundoplication (for hiatal hernia) at the same time? I suspect I have a hiatal hernia & I'm close to my surgery date. I'm just worried that my surgeon is going to make me have the Nissan first and separately and THEN do the sleeve....ugh......Thanks in advance for any info..

Hi all. I just received my 6 month post-op bloodwork results. My hemoglobin A1C is down from 8 pre-op to 5.6!!! I was in disbelief when the doctor told me. I was expecting it to be good, maybe in the 6's but was just floored to hear 5.6. I was down to just Metformin since the surgery and he took me off that now too. He said my diabetes has fully reversed itself and that I no longer have to classify myself as a diabetic. I am so thrilled with this, I just had to share my good news.

I am hoping someone can give me advice! I considered doing gastric bypass years ago...I never did. I told my husband if I hadn't lost 50lbs by our anniversary this year I wanted the lapband -This was a while ago last year sometime in fact enough time to lose 50lbs! Anyway I am about 200lbs overweight I have 3 little kids and I want to be healthy I am afraid my husband doesn't understand my desire and I have tried things most recently and he saw what I ate and how much (I didn't even cheat!) I didn't lose a thing it is very frustraing and it is getting old trying and trying and failing all the time! So advice on how to approach the subject with a spouse who isn't to sure …

Hi Everyone! It is my 11 month surgeversary tomorrow so I thought I would post my progress pics. I am down 116 pounds and have 25 more to go to goal. The absolute best thing I could have done for myself. I am not the same person at all. I sometimes have a hard time keeping up with how I look on the outside. I still feel the same on the inside. Well... happier of course but still the same person! I hope to lose 5 more pounds before my 1 year. Then I will have only 20 to goal. I have to say, I didn't think I would get this close!!! It has been an amazing journey. I had to have my gallbladder taken out 3 weeks ago, but all is well!

there is a nice older couple who lives across the street...you know the hi and bye waves and when they are gone or we are, we take the mail and paper etc.... so the day before yesterday, me and my doberman kabo were in the front yard just sitting on the front step....and she came outside and said *you are looking so good. i bet you are feeling so much better*. i said i sure am and thank you... later when hub came home, i said you didnt tell the lady across the street of my surgery did you. he said last year at my surgery and i was home 8 days from work, she came to him when he was outside and asked was his wife okay as she noticed my car was in the driveway and hadnt …

Ran into one of the PA's from my Surgeons office yesterday....she just wanted to tell me how good it is to see someone who has successfully completed the journey....she asked me what I thought was the #1 thing I can contribute to my success....I told her, and she replied she had "one of those days" at the office, and she knows at least 50 women who would want to kill me right now.... We talked some more....I don't want to share everything she said because it is the same things we hear all the time, and I don't want anyone to get offened.... Bottom line...it's all about CHANGE! You can tell people from day one the Band will "Change your Life" and they still don't get i…
