So...I was on vacation last week and was so happy to not just fit into the seat on the plane, but I didn't need the belt extender and I had no problem buckling the belt (I even had to tighten it a little!). Then, I had no problem putting down the armrest. For the first time in years, It wasn't tight, it wasn't riding up on my hip, it just went down...and stayed there. Oh glory!! I didn't eat or drink anything other than Water but I just had to bring the tray down...and again...it went down and stayed there. I didn't have to move my belly out of the way, I didn't have to worry it wouldn't go down... Oh the happiness of the ordinary!! I'm even OK with the 1/2 lb. w…

I got banned in January 2013 and have lost 72 pounds so far and still moving right along. Off of blood pressure meds, off all diabetic medication and off almost all other medications. I would do it all over again, it's been great so far. I have a question, how do you get the weight loss ticker on the bottom of your page?

So I have been sick since Friday and that totally sucks but as of this afternoon my BMI is 29.9 and I am officially no longer obese. I have lost 90 lbs since 12/12/12 and I am only 30-35lbs away from my goal and I am not scheduled to be there until 12/12/13. Just keeping an eye out for my silver lining. lol

I could only eat 2 bites as it hurt so bad. So happy! And It wasnt all that either. I think I my Sleevie Wonder is small. Grateful for 62 pounds gone.

I did an early morning sweep of all my pants today. I took all my size 20 pants and rotated them out of my closet and into a bin to go to the shelter I volunteer at and/or the consignment shop. I have lost 30.8 pounds and have gone from a snug 20W to a very loose 18W. Fortunately, I work from home and when I am out, I am business casual. My daily outfit consists of either khaki or black trousers or trouser capris and I have them down to a size 16R so I don't need to buy anything yet. I did not do the tops because I have tremendous ta-tas and I can still wear most of the tops, even if they look a little balloonish. Have you started yet, Laura? Don't make me…

Thought i would put out my update for everyone who has considered themselves a slow loser like me! Today is my two months surgery anniversary and I have officially lost 56 pounds. 31 since surgery. Not to bad considering I have a larger than normal sleeve because of scar tissue left behind from my lapband and I feel like I have been a slow loser compared to other Sleevers. I eat around 1000 calories a day which is more than most Sleevers because I don't ever reach satiety eating less because of my larger sleeve and I take brisk walks at least 3 times a week! I have noticed a pattern developing with my weight loss, I tend to stall for two weeks at a time going up and d…

DON'T QUIT When you've eaten too much and you can't write it down, And you feel like the biggest failure in town. When you want to give up just because you gave in, and forget all about being healthy and thin. So What! You went over your points a bit, It's your next move that counts...So don't you quit! It's a moment of truth, it's an attitude change. It's learning the skills to get back in your range. It's telling yourself, "You've done great up till now. You can take on this challenge and beat it somehow." It's part of your journey toward reaching your goal. You're still gonna make it, just stay in control. To stumble and fall is not a disgrace, If …

We have a place close by that makes CRAZY donuts, with hilarious names ( well until the PC police picketed and made them change some names) So I came downstairs just now and my husband said "oh good your just in time to stop me from finishing this order on groupon for psycho donuts" OMG.... I told him "please don't" and I swear his lower lip pooked out a bit, he told my "oh, ok, it's just that I thought we could bring them on our camping trip (along with s'mores) this week. I am struggling and I had to tell him about the lengths that I'm struggling., I guess I haven't really checked in with my feelings about this for a week or two, my bad. I am not strong…

I posted this earlier in a thread on our May 2012 thread - not everyone pokes around in the monthly threads so I thought I would cross post here as well. I have never posted a pic - and have said that I would wait until I was at goal to post one, but bah what the hey - these photos of myself and my dear husband (who also had vsg two weeks before me) are from right before surgery (May 8, 2012 - DH) and May 21, 2013 for myself. We are feeling great and hubby is working hard on building muscle and fitness, and I am still losing and also upping the exercise. I still have about 25 lbs to go to get to the upper range of my goal at 140 - which is a healthy BMI. I used to wea…

I'm about 2 weeks late for my surgiversary post, but I'll make it up to everyone by being short and sweet!! Started: 25 years old 5' 1" tall 241 pounds Size 20 pants Size XXL tops 40DD bra size Size 8 shoe Currently: 26 years old 5' 1" tall 125 pounds Size 4 pants Size Small tops 34C bra size Size 6.5 shoe Key surgery/post-op points: I had no pre-op or post-op fasting or liquid diet. I started on pureed Protein such as eggs and tuna while I was still in the hospital on day 2 post-op. I ate regular meals up until 24 hours before surgery. This was at my surgeon's discretion. I've never counted calories, carbs, fat or any of that stuff. I eat and dr…

Here are some before and after photos of me. Before (10-2011): 360 lb In Rome near the Colosseum. Surgery date (07-02-2012): 335 lb I started to lose weight in may 2012, 2 months before surgery. After (05-24-2013): 188 lb At home in the back yard. My lowest was 177 lb in February 2013. I have gained about 10 lb of lean muscle since then. "After" is still a work in progress as I am working on strength training over the summer months. No lose skin except for a little around the front of the stomach. It will probably go away by end of this summer.

I'm so excited. Last week, I hit ONEderland! I'm now 197.8 lbs! This is a big milestone for me... It's the halfway point. I'm actually a little more than halfway now... ONEderland! and I'm not morbidly obese anymore...I'm just obese! So I'm really excited. Here's a pic. Before, I weighed 274 lbs. Today, I weigh 197.8. I am 5 ft. tall.

One year ago today took the first step to change my life. I got the lapband and started my journey to loose weight and change my life. The last year has been a challenge to say the least but today I stand here 115 pounds lighter and amazed with all I accomplished this year. I started my journey at 314lbs. Today I weigh 199lbs, and still aiming for goal:)

It's been a while since I've posted, but I wanted to post some update pictures. Last time I did I was 138 lbs down and in a 10 and pretty damn happy. I am now 163 lbs down and in a 6, maintaining.. even still *slooooooowly* losing.. My body seems to have found it's happy weight for the most part though and I find myself losing inches more than pounds these days, which suits me just fine! Still counting this as the BEST thing I've EVER done for myself.

So I've been a bit bad about my eating for a few days, but I haven't gone to the bathroom for like 4-5 days. I need to go lol As I type this, I am swallowing milk of magnesia, but what are good, fast ways of inducing a dump? MOM tastes like crap and I need something quicker that will open the flood gate so to speak. Thanks!

Ok so I have been hovering right between 201-202 for a good two weeks. I went out of town for business this past week and didn't have a scale. Then wh When I came home, mine was out of batteries. I just got some and weighed myself....197!!!!!! It's been probably 1997 since I weighed anything that didn't start with a 2!!!!! Another benefit? A crap ton of new male attention. And being able to be picky about who I see= way more GOOD dates vs awkward get me out of here type situations. LOL The downside??? hair LOSS. NO JOKE PEOPLE!!! IT WILL HAPPEN!!!! I've been losing for a full month now. Sometimes it seems to be slowing, but then I'll lose gobs the next day. Th…

Hey everyone!! Wanted to update you all and tell you all that I have lost 102 lbs so far! I am 8 months post op, and I feel GREAT! I am 23 years old and was obese, now I am not longer taking ANY medications anymore! , having heart disease and being obese was very scary. Now I don't have to worry about my health as much! For those who know me here know that I suffered from severe depression after surgery. I was hospitalized because I was ready to end it all... I guess I never realized how much food meant to me. I was a true food addict. Now I am on prozac and am happy as can be!! I plateaued for about 1 month at the 4 month mark, but now it just continues to come off.…

I was banded 12/3/13 and had revision 2/8/13 due to kink in tubing. I am happy to say I'm 58lbs down. I am having trouble seeing the changes just yet but I can feel the changes. My knee hasnt hurt in awhile, I have more energy, and NSV was when we went to Disney 2 weeks ago and kept up with my 5yr old daughter without even breaking a sweat. This is the first time I have attached before/after pics and I am nervous about doing that lol.

Went really good. I am down total of 53.6 pounds (by there scale this afternoon and 56 lbs by mine from this morning) of course I was naked and it was first thing this morning. ...anyway....some of my labs were off a little. B12 is low so starting shots once a month to boost that up. Vit D is low which I was deficient in before surgery so no big surprise there. Lipid panel was great. A1C down to 5.2! Things are food...very good. They want me down 16 pounds at my next visit in 3 months. Surely I can get that off! That would put me in onederland!!! Whoop whoop!

Today I stopped by meijer with my seven year old to buy him some new boxers. I decided while I was there to purchase myself some summer pajamas since I don't have any. I avoided the plus size section, logically knowing they'd be too big. I picked up some XL and studied them for a second. My son isn't the most patient, so I couldn't try them on. I looked at that XL thinking they'd be too right, but knowing if they were "it wouldn't be long" until they looked decent. I got home, put them on, and they're actually slightly baggy. Is my brain ever going to catch up and compute that I'm the size I am now while clothes shopping? Lol! Do any of you others do this? I guess it's…

I cannot believe it. Today, I got on the scale and I weighed 247 pounds! May 26 is my 3 month surgery-versary! I've lost 50 pounds in less than 3 months (I didn't have to do a pre-op diet). How amazing is this? I can only imagine where I will be in 6 more months. This surgery has been life-changing for me. I feel soo much better. My clothes that were too tight fit me now and clothes that used to fit me are hanging off me. I can actually work 12 hours on my feet and not be in a ton of pain, unlike when I was almost 300 pounds. I still have a long road ahead of me but This Feels Amazing! My goal is to get to, at least, 170 pounds. I would like to weigh 150 pounds though. …

I have also heard many mention hernia and it being removed. I have the tubular buldge below my rib cage that runs from right front side to back. It is not fat. Lol. It almost feels like a bulging muscle. No pain just others me. Could thus be a hernia?

I never thought I would post a success story as I deleted my every "before pic" that was horrible. But I found this goodie on an old laptop tonight. Ewww. First pic was taken a few months pre-surgery and second was taken last weekend. I will be 6 months out on the 6th of April - and am down 84lbs with 24lbs to go! Woo-hoo. No major complications, and I am loving life! Weeks leading up to my surgery all I was obsessed with watching youtube videos and forum pics of success stories, so thought I would share some of the love back and I can't wait to see how I look after a year!

I was sleeved on Jan 21, 2013 starting weight was 298 down 48 pounds so far. Before seeing these pics side by side I would have considered myself a "slow loser" but now; Wow.....what a difference. Best decision ever...excited to continue on my journey.
-
At my highest weight , I was 347. In my before picture I am about 290, three weeks pre-op. My mostly after picture I am about 210. I say mostly because I am still losing and am planning plastic surgery next year. This morning I weighed 196, a weight I have NEVER EVER EVER seen in my adult life. I absolutely love my life now. I exercise and eat clean. My life is good and I am so thankful that I took the steps necessary to gain control of my weight and life.
