I posted a new pic on Facebook yesterday. Within 30 minutes, my oldest son who is stationed at Camp Lejuene texted me with a picture that we took at the Tennessee Aquarium before he left for boot camp. He then said that he would 100% not be Able to recognize me and was proud of my accomplishments.

Thats about a 4lb weight loss a week, Surgery date was Feb 27 -13 SW 265 also the most I ever weighed (she straw that broke the camels back) This includes lots of stalls, and I still consider myself a slow looser, I have a sleeve of steel, I can eat anything, although I dont usually let myself.

Well, I'm 6 wks out today and 31# down. 3 to share. 1. My son and I went hiking last weekend. I made it 3 miles on a difficult trail. A quarter of the way through at the top of a hill, my son stopped me and said " remember this spot? Its where you were out of breath and your ankles hurt so bad, I saw tears in your eyes. Now your keeping up with me." We finished at a very brisk pace this time. 2. He said he was proud of me 3. A patient asked why I'd had an MRI. As I was encouraging him through his PET scan. I told him I'd had a ministroke at age 37 due to being overweight and high BP. He looked me up and down and was surprised because he thought I looked "healthy".. I…

I have made it six months. So far, minimal hair loss. All reports I read say hair growth should regenerate after six months. So I am hoping I am past the "you are going to lose some hair phase". I have been religious taking all my Vitamins and minerals EVERY day. I am down 60 pounds. It feels amazing being able to purchase pants in regular stores. It feels great being able to put my pants in the dryer without the fear of them not fitting when they come out. No more "hanging" my pants to dry. I am pleased when I see myself in photographs, I no longer cringe. Very, very few people know that I had gastric sleeve surgery. Just feel like it is my own private journey. I …

  9. Today I hit a major milestone. I am now the lightest I've been in at least 15 years. I finally weigh under 200 pounds. It was so exciting to see it on the scale. I've been dancing around it for a few weeks. I am just thrilled with my new body as it emerges. Is it perfect? Certainly not but I'm embracing it. I can do more with my body than I've been able to in a long, long time. I am spending more quality time, active time, with my children. I get dressed and feel like I can go out with my head held high. I'm really proud and love the sleeve for helping me get there!

So I know I am going to be told that this is normal but I just need some suggestions on how to get past this! I had my surgery April 11th. I lost 25 pounds the first 2 weeks (starting weight was 248) and then nothing since! I have actually gained 1 pound. The only difference is I am able to add in some meats....fish, tuna, canned chicken, etc... I have no idea what to do to get the weight loss started agin. Thinking about going back to all liquids for awhile to see if that helps. I didn't have this surgery to lose 25 pounds and then stop. I know that wont be the case but I really thought the weight loss wouldn't have stopped so soon. Any suggestions welcome!!!

So today is my one year bandiversary! I thought I would Celebrate by writing a post on here. First off let me start by saying this has been the best year of my life! I had almost walked out of the surgery because I was scared and didn't want to go through with it, thank goodness I didn’t! As of today I am down 135 lbs and have went from a BMI of 58.2 down to a BMI of 38.4. I still have a long way to go, but wow what a journey! I thought I would share some highlights: I was able to get a new job that I enjoy much more and make at least 25% more pay! Losing weight made me more confident and I am doing really well at my new job! I am now wearing clothes that I …

I had my second fill in April and went in yesterday for my 1mth follow-up. I won't even lie I was dreading getting on the scale I have not worked out the entire month (bad girl lol) but to my surprise I lost 13lbs. Needless to say I left the doctor's office and worked out for an hour....I realized if I had done this all along, I probably would be further along in my weight loss journey. 24. I just got back from a week in Disney World. For the past few years, I've had to rent a scooter to be able to get around the parks. It was a real lifesaver, but a hassle...getting it on the buses, etc. But now I'm 50 pounds lighter because of my lap band surgery. And this trip...I WALKED ALL AROUND DISNEY! Sorry for the "yelling", but I am just so darn excited. It was such a great feeling to be healthy enough to walk. In fact, my son told me to "slow down" at one point. I did rent a scooter on one day. It was rainy, and my left ankle (which I smashed a few years ago) felt painful. But the rental was not because I was too heavy to walk, so I'm okay with that. And …

Crazy to think that 1 1/2 years ago I couldn't even walk 2 blocks without being completely winded. I'm so grateful for my health and just wanted to share.

I dont know how many other people do this but whenever I come home I change into sweatpants/pjs. I have not been able to wear jeans for more than a few hrs comfortably in a long time! Well, on monday, I was home cleaning the kitchen and looked down and noticed that I never took my jeans off after taking ym daughter to school! I was comfy and kept them on all day as like a trophy. Maybe tmi right now: to top it of I am on my period this week, so normally nothing fits! It just felt awesome!

  37. Currently at 180. Wish I was lower but it seems many low BMI bandsters don't lose as radically as people w more to lose. My band still allows me to eat portions that are bigger than a cup. 6ccs in a 10 cc band. I get stuck if I try to eat anything in the am. Lunch needs to be liquid. Dinners neeeeed hot tea first and then I can usually get down fish. I eat much healthier now even though I'm still size 16, and only 1 size down from where I started. But I want to feel sexy naked people!!! So i still have a ways to go. Goal weight 150. Gimme some support peeps. We can do this together!

Worst feeling in the world until I was banded... I have never felt so healthy and so complete and so in LOVE with life! I have never felt so SEXY. And it amazes me still to this day. This is going to sound so silly but I can't wait to go to my mammogram appointment next week to see how the gown fits. Last time I was there...six months ago, I gave in and finally had to wear two gowns..front to back and back to front in order to cover up sufficiently. I don't expect that this time now that I'm down more than 50 lbs. Also...am flying in a couple of weeks and the first thing I want to do is buckle the belt without a friggin' extension. Oh how I hate having to ask for one. And...the next thing I want to do is put the arm down without it scootching back up because my hips are in the way.

Don't you love waking up in the morning and feeling the skin tightened overnight with inches gone from the sides? You know that feeling, don't you! Even before getting up out of bed you know, you just know and can feel it in your bones, that the scales is going to show something good, that the mirror is going to reflect something good, that the clothes are going to fit just a little better. It happened to me this morning. I got on the scale and was down 5 lb overnight. I could just feel it in my body when I first woke up. Felt great!!!

But when I look in the mirror I feel like I'm looking at a stranger. Has anyone else felt this? Also I still feel fat. I'm considering lipo for my inner thighs cuz I've taken up jogging and want to be be a 5k addict but I HATE that my shorts ride up my thighs even when I walk. I don't want the lipo for aesthetic reasons and I know it'll likely make my thigh skin even saggier but I'd love to be able to walk n jog without pulling my shirts outta my crotchety every 2 steps. Anyone else have any suggestions or can u tell me if ppl with smaller thighs still have this problem at all. I've always had big legs so I don't know what having thighs that don't touch would be like.

I weighed 333 lbs at my highest (known) weight in 2005. When I began my liquid pre-op diet in Feb, 2013, I weighed 270, and day of surgery was 258. Today I weighed in at 239.5! The before picture shown here was from about 18 months ago when I weighed about 295 (I have no full-body pictures from my heaviest weight as I avoided cameras at all costs). I remember the moment the picture was taken, and I soooo did not want to be in front of the camera! It's hard to even look at the before picture because I'm ashamed that I ever allowed myself to get in that condition...but I'm thrilled with the work I have done to get to where I am today. It has been work, truly...not just…
