I was sleeved on Jan 17th and I've lost 55lbs!!! The transformation of the reflection in the mirror is almost unbelievable as I can't believe I made this decision, actually followed thru with it and have been living a COMPLETELY different life since. I never thought I would be able to stick to the diet changes, etc prior to the surgery however after the surgery its like my brain was also rewired with the removal of the stomach portion and I have a completely different thought process about food and I don't feel deprived or like I am missing out on anything because of the minor limitations. Does anyone else feel like this?? I have inspired 2 people at my job to go in for a…

29 years ago today I married my best friend. Today we are closer and happier than ever. We have stuck together through thick and thin (fat and skinny:) So how did we choose to Celebrate our anniversary? Well, a 100km bike ride seemed like a great idea as we are starting a four and a half day charity ride over 460km this week! Unfortunately, due to bike problems, we had to finish up at 75km but that is still 74km further than I could have ridden two years ago. BTW - yesterday was my two year bandiversary - down 63kg and living life to the max!

One of my biggest peeves when I was a heavier person was flying coach. It was so embarrassing to sit in between 2 strangers and very uncomfortable on those trans continental flights of 5-6 hours. Super embarrassing to ask for the extension belt. The stewardess always tries to be discrete about it, but I could feel everyone's eyes burning into me. I loathed business travel because of these issues as an overweight ( morbidly obese) person. To avoid some of this awkwardness, I would pay the extra 200-400 to upgrade and fly first class. It certainly was a much better experience for my bruised ego, but the costs really added up. Fast forward to today where I am at goal …

3-1/2 weeks out...I had an Earth Day Goal to hit 270. I am 272 this morning. If it weren't for my mini-stall last week, I'm sure I would've, but I've fixed the issue & losing again, so I have no doubt I'll hit it this week. I still don't love my sleeve, but I'm impressed. I've never been able to hit a weight loss goal before. Never, not ever. Good job, Frank.

K. I've been highly depressed lately and have been slacking. I was sleeved on jan 14th. I haven't lost in 3 weeks. I was doing so well then got depressed and just been "tasting" way too much. I also work at Starbucks and got my coffee addiction back. Has anyone gone/going through this? If so what have/are you doing to get back on track? Thanks Sent from my iPhone using VST

I look at how well everyone is doing and I am getting super depressed. I have only lost 50 lbs in three months. I started at 281 and it seems people that were bigger (like myself) lose faster. I am doin everything right, and I just don't understand why I'm not losing more weight. What it I don't ever get down to goal weight. Any suggestions on what you think I should do? I can't have protein shakes (my NUT and surgeon determined they have something in them that Makes me sick). Any thoughts would help!

It's been a very long 7 1/2 months for me.... but I can confidently and proudly say that I finally feel as though the inside matches the outside! I'm about 5lbs to my goal, (although I'm only about 3 months out from my actual bypass procedure), and I went on a mini shopping spree today, and it felt SO good! From size 22 pants and 1x or 2x shirts, to size 8 or 10 pants, and a size M shirts. Everyone who is struggling in the first few days or weeks after surgery, just keep your mind on the end result. Everyone with complications, surround yourself with love and support and you'll make it through. You'll make it through, just keep pushing!

So i finally ended my first stall. It lasted about 3 weeks, which i hear is pretty normal, but boy were those 3 weeks frustrating! I was convinced i wasn't going to lose anymore weight, even though common sense told me otherwise. But this morning i decided to try on my pre-pregnancy pants (my son is 6), and they FIT! just a tad snug in the waist but omg! I'm soo happy! This was my first mini goal, and i can't believe I've reached it! I couldn't be happier today!!

I went to the mall to pick up a couple of pair of shorts (I live in Florida and it's already hot and I have nothing that fits...a nice problem to have...but still a problem.) My thought was to just hit JC Penny's and pick up a few things. On my walk to the dept store, I passed by Old Navy which was having a nice sale. My inner fat girl voice said, "you have never fit into anything in Old Navy...keep walking." But I stopped in and checked out their linen shorts. Super cute! I pulled an XL shorts off the rack and tried them on. TOO BIG!! My mean inner fat girl voice said, "a Large will never fit your fat butt...put the XL back and come back another day when yo…

Sorry men this probably won't be a very entertaining thread for you... Ladies! After you had the VSG were you able to wear high feels with more comfort? I have to say I'm crossing my fingers that once I have the VSG and weigh starts to drop it'll be easier. Right now I put them on and they feel a little tight and within about 30 minutes of walking in them my feet start to hurt.

I want to celebrate and shout from the rooftops! I made my surgeons goal on my appt day! I didnt even know he had a goal for me and he turns to me and says, "Congratulations, you made goal!" I said what??? I made up an arbitrary goal of 135 because i remember weighing that in college. I had no idea what my goal was supposed to be... He said "see, your ideal weight is 138 and I weighed in at exactly 138! Wow.. I thought I had missed it by three pounds but it was so refreshing to say that I finally made A goal. I always fall short but not this time! My wonderful hubby made a great slideshow of the whole process, starting from our Brazil vacation spring of 2011 to now.…

I noticed that alot of folks who post say they are scared of being hungry. I understand that fear because when I am hungry, I make poor food choices. So....last night I wound up in an Italian restaurant, which is a challenging place to be as I am a carb addict. I'll happily forego chocolate for a bowl of spaghetti. Anyway...we sat down, it was a little late and I was hungry...and the lasagna was calling my name. But...and here's a big but...I'm doing so well at this point...49 lbs. down since the beginning of the year, that I didn't want to sabotage myself. I ordered the salmon with the house salad and mashed potatoes. I ate about 1/3 of the salad, half of the 6 oz…

I typically do not toot the horn but today I received 2 very nice compliments. 1. A lady that I work with that I dont interact with on a regular basis stopped me in the hall to say that she had to do a double take because of how much weight Ive lost. She almost didnt recognize me. That was pretty cool. 2. The other was the woman that works at a gas station I frequent said "OMG youve lost a TON of weight". I told her it was 62 pounds and still going strong. She high fived me and told me "you go girl". She said it was a dramatic difference in my face. I took everything she said as a compliment but had she said it at the wrong time of the month if you get my dr…

Today is my 9 month surganniversary! I Have lost 94.9 lbs. & 68 inches. I Have went from a 3X shirt to a medium and small. From a size 22-24 pant size to a 12 that I bought about a month ago that are already loose. Im loving my new journey of feeling healthy and able to climb through the tunnels at the park to play with my grandson. This is one of the best decisions I have ever made. Thank you Jesus! So, I just weighed myself this morning and I am at 199!! I never thought I would have ever reached this, I don't remember the last time my weight started with a 1! And also one more pound until I have officially lost 100lbs. I posted a before photo today, and I also took a photo of me from last night, the one I took today didn't turn out for some reason It took me two years to even get approved for surgery! and I FINALLY got it on Dec. 4, 2012. It was frustrating, but to see all of the progress it was totally worth it...so if anyone out there is going through a hard time getting approved, keep fighting and don't give up. It gets frustrating, but it is worth it S…
