I haven't been on VST much the past few months, I moved most of my activity over to MyFitnessPal. However, today is my one year "Surgiversary" and I have so much to be thankful for. I lost 81 pounds, from 274 to 192, and still losing (verrrry slowly now). I went from sizes 22/24/2X to 8/10/M, bra size from 42DD to 36C/D(treated myself to a fitting today, yay!). I lost a full shoe size. I lost high blood pressure, hypothyroid, plantar fasciitis, and Vitamin D deficiency. I lost pain in my hips when laying in bed. I lost being out of breath constantly and being drenched in sweat with the slightest exertion. I lost excruciating back pain that left me with a possible …

I woke up this morning feeling absolutely happy!!! Had a fantastic week( away from the scale lol). I went out with my sister on to a local sea food place. Almost at the six months mark and loving my sleeve so much more  Here are a few silly, goofy pics!

My friends this is such a difference for her. No more feeling bad about herself. She's got energy coming out her ears. This is the gal I married in 1973. Her old sassy snap is back and I'm loving it!

Hi all, I've just returned from a weeks holiday to Sydney (Australia). My family and I drove up last weekend. We all had an amazing time, we walked everywhere and some days we were out from 8 am in the morning till 10 pm doing all the touristy things. We walked and walked and walked and I kept up the whole time, some days it was walking for up to 6 to 7 hours, I walked with ease, I climbed stairs with ease and even when it felt like my feet were ready to drop off I kept going. I even did a thunder jet boat ride ( amazing). If it was a year ago I would have been exhausted within the first five minutes of walking. My 15 year old son came up to me and hugged me t…

100 pounds down and 9 months after surgery. I needed a well over do eye exam. Felt might be time for reading glasses and needed Rx for contacts. To my surprise I was perfect reading vision when tested. My current Rx is -2.75 and -2.50 to see distance. After an exam it is -2.00 and -2.25. She said the reading issues I was having was my current Rx was too string and putting long term stress on eyes. I have a trial pair of contacts and no issues in vision. No where have I been told WLS might change vision. Highly suggest vision checks thru this process. I did not mention WLS surgery but will when I order contacts and find out if there is a connection. Anyone else experie…

My neighbors haven't seen me in a while I guess... Lol Last time they saw me was earlier in the year when I was in the 270-280lb range. I am now about 240. My wife tells me that our neighbors husband and wife looked out their window to see where their kids were, only to see an unfamiliar person outside.... Me.... Lol They didn't recognize me at first!! The wife had to call her husband over to share her "wow" moment with him... Lol That made me feel awesome!!!

I did pretty well at Easter dinner. My husband bbq'd chicken and he leaves the sauce for the side. My Mother had a plain fruit bowl, so that was my meal. While everyone else had brownies and ice cream, I had cherry yogurt. My brother's boys are 3 and 14, so of course we had an Easter egg hunt for the 3 yr old. Beautiful day! The highlight of my day was a call from my nephew, the marine. He is a gorgeous specimen at 6'7" and of course in excellent shape....he and his wife both! I had responded to an email from his wife and included a recent picture. He told me on the phone yesterday that when she showed it to him, he said, "that is not my Aunt!". He told me how …

My brothers and I don't get together very often but we were all there for our Mum's 70th birthday. My older brother has always been a very big man but all I have heard for a couple of years is how much weight he has lost. My younger brother has always been tall and whippet thin. well, this time (and forever more) I was the skinnier sibling! Yay for my band.

Officially hit the 100 pound weight loss mark this morning! Couple this with fitting into a size 13 JUNIORS yesterday, I'm one pretty stoked lady! Started pre-op diet at 257 at the beginning of August, had surgery 9/25/12 at 237 got on the scale this morning at 157! Surgeons office scale has slightly different numbers but I go off my own scale. Six more to go to surgeons goal, nine more to mine. Had six month post op appt last Friday and was told again I am doing as well as a by-pass patient. Now comes the hard part of hitting goal and surviving summer vacation (I'm a teacher) including three weeks in Wildwood (beach in NJ) and a short cruise in August. Bathing su…

Help anyone! Had another bout with terrible runs. Could not make it to a rest room and went all over myself and the car (sorry if too graphic). It took me 11/2 hour to clean up myself, my shower, my clothes and the car. This happened to me just 3 days ago. Usually after I eat no problem. It is after I drink an hour later that brings this on. But today no drink just a little exercise about an hour after I ate and bam. Is this happening to anyone else. What have you done for it?

Yesterday I went with my mom. Oh what a great day, of course I am broke now. Got a few outfits for summer and had the most awesome thing happen. My mom called me a b i t c h. Yep, it was great!!! Why, you ask. Well, we were looking around Ann Taylor (love that store) and I tried on a pair of capri pants with a tank top (just like the mannequin in the window), walked out to show my mom. She really liked the outfit on me so I turned around, lifted the shirt to show the pant size. A SIZE 8! She, says oh you b i t c h quit showing off (in a loving way). It was great. So I bought the outfit. I fit in some 8s & some 10s, it depends on the cut. I'm happy either way. Her…

I actually hit 40 lbs today if you count my pre-sleeve weight loss of 13 lbs in the two week pre-surgery diet stage. I am shocked at my progress so far and so excited. I have to loose 40-50 more lbs and I will be exactly where I want to be. Almost at the halfway point!

Omg I made it to onederland!!! 9 weeks after surgery, and I'm here. I can't believe it. I haven't seen a one as the first number in my weight, since I was in high school. I almost cried (but didn't) although I did do a happy dance all around the bedroom. My first goal accomplished. Rewarded myself with a pair of jeans that are OMG a size 14. Next, goal is to do a 5k run/walk with my daughter in June. Here are some pics of me before and after.

Well I am 7 months from surgery and down 69.5 pounds with no preop diet. This band has been the biggest blessing. It has definitely made this process easier although it is still hard work. I think the difference is the hard work is actually paying off when it didn't with other methods. I still struggle with seeing myself as small from time to time and I am still 35 pounds from goal but I feel so much better. I wonder if at times I have a harder time believing I was actually that big before surgery or that I am actually this size now lol

I finally got my sleeve tattoo. It says, "l love my sleeve" in Spanish, since I was sleeved in Mexico. Its a constant reminder that the sleeve changed my life.

So I'm at a point where I've lost 75 lbs and I'm a size 14, 190 lbs. my goal is 150, however I'm getting tired of hearing from people I hardly know that I look great because they always follow it up with "what are you doing?" I don't ever really want to tell them but then I feel guilty if I take credit entirely. Anyone else dealing with this? I'm grateful for the band and what it's done but I'm to the point where I want to be left alone about it. I appreciate that people are noticing and yes, it makes me proud but guilty like I'm cheating.

pondered if i should post this or not, but i realized that although its good, it is also sad. this time last year (picture short female, wide as is tall, butt with own zip code, 336+ pounds, bmi 62) and trying to walk through the hospitals/rehab clinics, up and down stairs at inlaws house to clean or from room to room .. 9 months ago, this would NOT have happened. there was no way in heck i could have walked all through the hospitals (long hallways) to the parking lots that are a mile long it seems.....etc.. there was no way i could do it. i couldnt stand more than 5 min without me having to sit down. i just couldnt do it. granted my hubs family situation is not go…

I went to my PCP today for a checkup and she took me off one of my blood pressure meds. Have been on two meds for the longest time, and at a higher dose as well. Now down to 20 mgs. lisinopril only. Hoping to be off all meds at some point.

Almost 15 months ago, I had Lap Band surgery. Today I am thrilled to announce I have now officially lost 200 pounds since then. If I wasn't currently in the hospital I'd post pics. I will take some later when I'm home and better. I just had to share!

I finally weigh less than my hubby! woohoo (I totally don't care that he is more than a foot taller than me! lol) I also fit into the sweater I wore on our first date again and the same winter jacket too! It just feels great to be sliding into these clothes from 3 or four years ago and seeing them fit! I am also 13 pounds away from 100 lost and I will be able to go zip-lining! I would love to hear everyone else's NSV's too!
-
Man it's hard not to! I've had a pretty hard time in the three weeks and I think my weightloss is pretty good. Literally 21 lbs in 21 days. Truly, I'm fine with that. But then you log in and see someone whose breezed through everything and lost 50 lbs in 6 weeks. (Halfway to goal which means she had 100 to lose just like me) I'm positive I won't lose 30 more lbs in the next three weeks since the dreaded stall is about to find me most likely, and even though inWAS just fine with my weightloss, now I'm dissapointed. Lol. I try not to read those threads but sometimes it just creeps up on ya. So. I'd love to hear from others whose weight isn't just falling off them.
