I'm a little worried about gaining weight with this pregnancy! I started juicing! I'm making this short! Good luck to you all!

Ok, so first I have went from a size 40 pants to a 36....they are getting loose!!! I keep getting stopped by coworkers and they tell me I am looking skinny and asking how I am doing it. Feels so awesome!! The big one is that I just did a 5k walk this morning, my first official 5k! I finished in 51mins, my 12yr old daughter finished 52mins, 6yr old daughter 1hr 4mins, and wife made it 1hr 5mins!! It was so much fun! Next weekend there is another one our family is going to do. Can't wait! The pic in the blue shirt is just before surgery on pre-op diet, the white shirt pic is from this morning.

Rode any ride I wanted without fear of being too big. Walked over 10 miles while at the park and my feet did not hurt. Was able to walk through turnstiles head-on instead of turning sideways. Did not succumb to eating junk while in the park and found healthy options. It is definitely now officially the happiest place on earth!

I cut my face out, sorry you all! Banded 12/21/12 starting at 262 day of surgery. Weighed 199 today (5/17/13). Def in the green zone! Panty and bra, hopefully no worse than a pic in a bikini. :/ Pic is night before surgery and yesterday. Second thoughts on the pic. Figured out how to remove pic but not delete entire post. Sorry!

Excited to have gotten on the scale in the morning to see that I have officially lost 25.2 lbs in 1 week 6 days! 18.2 is post-op. I've never lost more than 10 lbs and that's always been from getting sick (always gained it back) so this is big for me! I have a LONG way to go though so I can't be too happy, haha. -Mark UPDATE: Posted a before/after face pic

  11. So...I had three doctor appointments today. A mammogram first, then a visit to the lapband surgeon for a follow up visit, and then the rheumatologist to discuss the knee and hip pain. Great NSVs at the breast imaging center. I fit fine in the narrow seats in the waiting room. Last time, I had to sit on the couch...the chairs were too tight. Then was able to wrap an XL gown around myself with no issues while the last time, I had to put on two 2XL gowns, front to back, back to front, so I could cover up. Then...off to the surgeon. Lost 23 lbs in two months....59 total since pre-surgical diet. Doctor said I am doing exceptionally well especially as I've not had any …

  13. HI everyone! Haven't been on for quite a while but just popping in to say - 22 months in and still SKINNY!!! Maintaining within 5 pounds of goal at all times. Don't even think about any of it anymore. Just a routine part of my life. Portions are just small. Sometimes I even forget to eat or force myself. It's been wonderful. No - not all my problems were solved just like they warn you. BUT being thin and pretty and in beautiful outfits all the time sure ain't bad!!!! =) Just wanted to tell you all that despite all the negativity about the band it does work and it's the best decision I ever made. Surgery was really quick and easy and other than a few scary moments…

So I just thought I'd post before and after pic of my face. I couldn't bare to take a before pic of my full body. Anyway, I'm 10 days post op and have lost 20 pounds. I'm not complaining by any means but just hope I'm doing everything right. I spent a week in the hospital for several complications that arose because of some unknown preexisting conditions and also because my lungs basically stop working after anasthesia. Anyway I had broth 3 times a day for the first 7 days then introduced cottage cheese and cream of chicken with tuna, the next three days..

Then I sat down…WOW what the hell, I had enough Room!!!! WOW for NSV!! I love my sleeve, today anyway….

  20. Hi all, I had my lap band put in 3 years and 8 months ago. I started out at 354 lbs and am currently at 248 lbs. I made the decision at the beginning to take the slow route along with my surgeon. He and I agreed that the slow method is much healthier and the chance for long term success and much higher. My band has not changed in the fill amount since the first month of the surgery. Cudos to my surgeon, he's a very smart person and I am so glad I took the long road. It's been so easy and my eating habits have truly changed for the good and taking the slow loss method has let my body and skin adjust slowly to the new me. No major loose skin here. The biggest d…

So today is exactly 2.5 years since I was sleeved on October 22, 2010. It's hard to believe that 2.5 years have passed. I used to have a ticker but since they took away external tickers I've been too lazy to go and make a new one here. I originally lost -100lbs at the 18 month mark, (all since surgery, I wasn't required to lose weight before surgery) and then I spent about 9 months regaining about 15-20lbs. In January of this year I rededicated myself to this journey and now have lost -9lbs of my regain. Hoping to lose the next -10-12lbs and then keep going towards goal (when all is said and done I would like to lose another -20lbs from where I am right now.) Not mu…

Yesterday the scale read 299. The old me wanted to go celebrate by eating something fatty and bad. How stupid. The new me went out to the driving range and hit a bucket of balls instead. Today I went on a long hike I would never been able to make 4 months ago. I only made it halfway to chimney rock but going to try again the end of the summer.

  26. I undertook this surgery primarily because 18 months ago, I was diagnosed with diabetes. It is a terrible disease and I managed it through diet and exercise although I was told that, in time, I would need meds despite my efforts. I could have coped with that if I had one chronic illness. But I had been fighting severe inflammatory arthritis for the previous 7 years that saw me taking the maximum dose of Methotrexate, a chemotherapy drug, and injecting Enbrel, a biological therapy, just to keep the arthritis in check and to allow me to live a relatively normal life for as long as possible. But the combo of two chronic conditions meant that, by the start of this year, I w…

  27. I'm issuing a weekend challenge. To all of you who have clothes that are TOO BIG in your closet (Laura-ven, I'm looking at you, too)... GET RID OF THEM!!! You will never need them again. Do not hold on to these clothes as a back-up plan! Plan to succeed! I'm going to take a look in my closet and dresser and make three piles: -keep because it fits me, is comfortable, and looks good on me -throw it away because no one else would want that nasty old/dirty/torn/worn out thing anyways, and -donate! I always found it frustrating when the only plus size things at Salvation Army were muumuus. My nice things will go directly there. Good luck, and God speed! Ch…

I was lucky enough to receive free tickets from my company for Busch Gardens Tampa Bay this last weekend. I was afraid to try a rollercoaster at first, the last time I went to a theme park I barely fit in them. Between that time and my surgery I had gained quite a but of weight. I am happy to say that the two coasters I tried, I fit in! yippee!

Right now I am working on some vitamin deficiency's nothing to do with the band, vit b12 shots and mega doses of D. And hope once I get feeling better I will be able to lose the rest. I am very proud of myself, and very happy I decided to go ahead with the surgery. I went from a size 24 in jeans to a 10-12. Sometimes I still can't notice in the mirror the changes, pictures wor…

A big NSV for me today! Any gal a size 14W or up knows the drill-- you are either shopping in the basement or the attic, next to the dishes and baby clothes. Today, I spent two hours in a strange place called the Missy department! I bought two pairs of pants and it was surreal. Probably kind of silly but it just felt so weird. I kept waiting for someone to say, "you're too fat to be here" but I was just shocked that stuff fit!! Go me!

I am 4 months Post Op and NEVER hit a STALL… Yeah for Me!!!! Okay, Okay, before everyone goes Ape ****, I will tell why. I only weigh Once a Month at the Doctors office. Every 30 days I get on the dreaded scale, and it is becoming my Friend, because I am always Much Less than the last time. Yes, I am Know I am Stalling Just like everyone else, but I don’t know when that is so it helps me mentally not focus on the negative and just plugging along doing what the doctor tells me.. Just a thought if you are getting frustrated with the daily or even weekly weigh ins, Don’t do it to yourself, Weigh Once a MONTH!.

What did your surgeon or support group do that helped you be successful with your Sleeve? Many surgeons offer different ways to provide aftercare, after my Lapband not working out so great for me I want to make sure I have great success with my Sleeve. Did you use a meal planning program? Work out program? Were you required to attend appointments? Did you surgeon check up on you? So please fill me on what unique success tips or aftercare you had! I do know the Lapband requires more attention (fills) but I assume the Sleeve does need more than just the surgery part! Thanks

  43. I always enjoy before and afters. Here are mine! I lost 200 lbs in about 11 months. I started in 24's and 3/4 X shirts. My BMI was 53 and is now 22. I now wear 2/4 pants and med/large shirts. I am 5'7. I had an apple shape before and now I am still an apple...just smaller! So jealous of the hour glass folks. I ate about 600 calories a day/ less than 20 carbs/more than 64 oz fluid/more than 60 protein. I truly believe, for me anyhow, the key is low carbs. I weigh, track, log every bite of food on MFP (hollirrose). I had a handful of times that I ate off plan but never for more than a meal or day. I don't work out that often. I walk some but not consistently.…
