I was def nervous as well. I never had surgery before this, but i knew the benefits outweighed the risks. I had HTN, pre-diabetic, and also PCOS, I can now say..no more blood pressure medications, blood work is back to normal, and my body is finally returning to normal. Even as I sat in pre-op that morning i kept thinking I should just leave, but i'm so glad i didn't. This has def been the best decision i have ever made, and Dr.Munoz did an excellent job. I love his nurse practitioner. I actually went to the support group for the first time last night and it was great. Anymore questions just let me know. Def wish you lots of luck!!

When i first woke up after surgery and i was in recovery i remember the first thing i said was it hurts...i almost forgot what just happened...but once i got the pain meds i felt much better. Once i was on the floor..it wasn't really pain that i felt it was more discomfort then anything. I had my surgery on Tuesday and i was back at work the following Wed but I also have an office job. What do you do for work? And i was dreading the 2 week shake diet. I will say the first 3 days were the hardest but then i got used to them and it was a breeze and i was not even drinking the 5 they say you should drink. Drinking lots of Water through out the day also helps.

I was sleeved at University of Miami by Dr. De la Cruz Munoz on May 21st. I'm down 106lbs so far!

I was pretty nervous about the 2 week liquid diet also...but it wasn't as bad as i thought it would be..The first 3 days were the hardest..and then it became much easier...the time will just fly by..and by the end i was only drinking 4 shakes instead of the 5...you will do great! If i can do it...anyone can!!

Hey, I had my surgery May 21st and my experience was great. Everything couldn't have gone better. He is a great surgeon and most of his staff rocks! His nurse practitioner is wonderful. I def recommend him 100%. I'm down 68lbs so far and 9 weeks post-op! Good Luck to you! Any questions let me know!
