July 1 I will be 8 weeks post-op (banded May 6) and getting second fill (2 cc) tomorrow... Started pre-op at 357; date of surgery was 350. Today I am 312.5!! Goal is 307 (50 lbs lost) within July. I don't notice much physical change but still, this is so surreal

I hit a huge victory today as I am down 100 lbs since starting this process!!! I lost 11 before surgery, and 89 since surgery on 12/24/12. I am almost 6 months to the day from surgery and I cannot wait to go for my 6 month checkup next month! ... Size 22/24 to size 10/12 in 6 months. I'm still planning on losing more, however this is my biggest victory to date..even bigger than getting out of the 200's!!!! Keep up the good work everyone it is SOOOOOOOOO worth it!!!

Today marks 365 days since I had my sleeve! I have lost 102 lbs! It has been a long bumpy happy healthy road! I would like to loose another 30-40 lbs to reach my surgeons goal! I am eating a lot more now and nervous about future weight loss. I need to up the exercise. Anyone out there cont to loose weight after the first year and if so how many lbs a month usually? I'm loosing very slowly now and kinda getting discouraged if I will ever make it to goal! Overall I am so happy and thankful for the sleeve. I would never have lost this weight without its help!

After being at a plateau for a few weeks my weight starting to head in the right direction! (Down ) At last! I reached a loss of 55 pounds since my first visit to the doctor's office last year. Most of this weight has come off in the past months--since my third fill last March. Another 20 pounds and I'll be at the lowest weight I can remember for the past 12 or so years.... if I can do another 55 pounds I'll be ecstatic, but still over my ideal weight. If I don't lose another pound I'd still be happy, since I have a lot more energy and feel better even at this modest milestone. I'm glad I saved a lot of my old clothes, it is great being able to into pants that I ha…

I have been bad and have forgotten to take my PPI for about a week. Now I recognize the 'hungry' feeling I have had for the last umpteen years. I won't be forgetting it again anytime soon! UGH!

51 lbs down today in just short of 5 months. When I joined LBT the night prior to my surgery, I picked my screen name based on the fact I'd have thought this journey a success if I just lost 50 lbs. Now I have done that and also hit ONEDERLAND! Thanks so much for the support from those before me - I hope to pay it forward for others. Life is good with the band...

First post on here, just thought I would share.

FINALLY, after being stuck at 200.0 for a week, I have reached ONDERLAND!! Today, I weigh 198.1!! I stood there just staring at it. I wouldn't get off the scale for one minute! I was thinking...does that say what I think it says?? Am I actually under 200 pounds!?! I have a LOT more work to do, I am half way to my goal. But, I am happy and very proud of myself. I don't want to see that scale go over 200 every again!! Thank you God for the strength, self discipline and new found energy!

Almost everyday is a scale victory for me since I got my lap band. It's been a little over 6 months and just the fact that I am willing to weigh myself everyday is a huge step in the right direction for me! Makes me fact the fact of my weight! But today is a day I have been reaching for. It's not "onederland" which is next goal but today I went from 209 lbs to 208 lbs. So what you might ask? For me, being 5'10", I go from a 30 BMI to 29.9 BMI. "Obese" to simply "overweight." Yes, I'm overweight but no longer obese. Who knew that could be a great feeling??? Now on to "onederland" and then my license weight! Baby steps all the way!

Gone since feb.. So excited! 1/2 way to my goal!

Hi all, I posted on the food and Nutrition forum but I think more people might see posts here. I would love your opinion. Here is the thread: http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/84941-feeling-insecure-about-dietitians-advice/ Thanks in advance!

I finally made it. It seems like it took forever. I had my lapband surgery in April of 2012. I lost 60 pounds within the first few months and got down to exactly 200 lbs. Then I found out I was pregnant. I gained 40 lbs back during my pregnancy. Now I finally lost the 40 I gained and made it to ONEDERLAND.

Hey everyone, I have a quick question. ...what were your doctors orders as far as diet after surgery? I had my surgery on 6/13, was put on clear liquids from day 1-10, soft foods such as yogurt, pudding and cream of soups day 10-20, then mashed up baby like food from day 20-30.

First question : I'm about 4 weeks post op and have hit my first stall. I have lost 21 pound so far but that was all in my first two weeks. I haven't lost any weight in the last two weeks. How long will this last, and what can I do to jump start it? Second question : I must admit I haven't be exercising as much as I should. I brought a treadmill and low and behold there were no screws to put it together, so right now I'm In the process of waiting for the company to send me new screws but I don't want to sit around and wait to much longer. So how long did u guys wait before you went to the gym? I don't wanna just go to get on the treadmill I will like to do other exe…

Hello All. Had my surgery on May 16 2013 starting weight was 246.8 today when I got on the scale I was 224.8. I feel it in my clothes but dont see it yet in the mirror. Returning to work today and no one but the boss knows about my new "tool". Wonder if they will be able to see a differance? Its vain thinking I know......but

So u just have to post this because I know you will all understand. I am in desperate need of clothes for work that are not falling off me. I went to Goodwill because I can't justify spending lots of money on clothes that I will only wear for a month or so if best. I went and really didn't know what size I needed. I grabbed a couple sizes and went to the dressing room. Long story short. I fit in a 22! I was so elated! I went from a size 30 pants only 3 months ago, to a 22! And actually, I'd say a 20 in a few weeks. The 22 were not tight at all. Sorry, I just had to share because I know you will all understand! I can't remember a time that I had to go down a size, and not …

Well, yesterday was my one year anniversary since my surgery. Starting weight was 247 lbs, now 138 lbs. Formerly a size 22 pant/dress size, using tops 2x. Now, lose size 6, tight 4; size small in tops. Can't believe it myself...

I'm 7.5 months post-op and am down 83 lbs! I often feel like I am one of the slow losers, especially since I was a revision from the band, but you know, a loss is a loss is a loss, and the only thing that matters is that I am consistently doing what I need to do, and if I keep that up, the weight loss will follow. I did maintain a 50 lbs loss from my band, so I've lost a total of 133 lbs. I have 50-60 lbs to go. Also, I have challenged myself to work out daily for a minimum of 20 min. I completed Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred first, and I've been running, walking, and doing other circuit training for the last few weeks. I've worked out 54 days in a row! The inches ar…

Ive been busy with my happy life, buying clothes and looking great. Men are taking notice again, but been mostly happily married 19 yrs. Im down 68 pounds since 1/30/13. I can eat pretty much whatever I want now just way smaller capacity. The scale is inching along. Im only 30 pounds to goal. My pic is old b/c now my face is tiny. I will try to update it soon. I wear a Med or L top and size 12 jeans, a long way from 2xl top and 18/20 pants. Im hardly trying and still losing. Not happy with skin but Im no spring chicken with elastic skin. Not sure if I will ever get plastic surgery or not. They say wait a year after goal. Even if I somehow dont lose another pound Im happy.

Hello All, just wanted to do a check-in on how everyone is doing? I was sleeved on 4/10/13. I started out with a few challenges of nauseousness and dehydration. After getting through the first 3 weeks, I haven't had any problems! I haven't really found anything that I "can't" eat. I haven't tried soft bread or pasta. I can eat a small amount of rice but I can tell that it fills me up quickly! I love my sleeve and how it keeps me in control. I still fight my head "wanting" certain foods but even if I give in, it only takes a little to satisfy me. I see where lots of folks on here have challenges with getting rid of clothes that are too big! Not me! I'm getting rid…

Well, it finally happened...the number I've been hoping to see for a very long time. I stepped on the scale this morning to see the most amazing sight-my weight no longer starts with a "2". I stepped on the scale, I stepped off, I stepped on, I stepped off-wait, maybe the scale is being blocked by the rug or something, I stepped on again, I stepped off-wait, maybe the battery is dead or something, I stepped back on one more time (just to make sure I wasn't hallucinating or something) and sure enough, the number was still the same! I came downstairs with tears in my eyes to share the news with my husband who has stood strong by me through my WLS journey. This has been …

Saw my PCP yesterday and she discontinued my last blood pressure medication AND told me to cut the only remaining medication (for cholesterol) in half. I'm having blood work done in 5 weeks and she feels confident that she'll be calling me to discontinue that medication too! I am so happy. I don't think my feet touched the floor n my way out of the office I was flying!! The weight loss is great but the improved (read that resolved) medical issues are even better.

When I started this journey on June 18, 2012 I weighed 334 lbs (surgery day), I wore a 5x from Catherine's which is the largest size they have, today I am down 83 lbs and went in there to find a warm up/track suit to wear on our vacation to Gatlinburg in a couple of weeks, well the only size I could wear was the 0x which is the smallest size they have! So I'm standing at the checkout and my eyes were welling up with tears and the ckout lady thought something was wrong with me, so I made it to my car and I just sat there and cried like a baby! I am so grateful for this surgery!

I've been going there for almost 2 years now.. and i usually am invisible.. but today... man.. everyone in the waiting room were looking at me and smiling.. i had to turn and look back a couple of times just to make sure there was no one behind me.. i mean.. there were no dirty looks.. people did not cringe when i took an empty seat next to them.. man that sure felt good.. now.. my weight has been increasing everyday this week.. but my body fat percentage has been going down.. but the devil on my shoul…

And not so much that ccb might show us what he looks like in a little black dress.. Hahaaa!! Down 70 pounds so far...has been a big learning experience. I feel great so far and am adjusting to all the compliments I get. It is so wonderful to be able to pull something out of the closet I thought I would never wear and it fits easily! 50 more pounds to go!

I went to work for my nephew who has a Deck and Dock business here in Tampa, Florida. He needed help packing Water retainers in 2 backyards. The job consisted of a dump truck dropping a huge mound of dirt in the driveway, the dirt being shoveled into heavy wheel barrows and wheeled to the backyard and dumped into the form, and then tamped down with a heavy tamper....all day. I worked 6-7 hours a day, Monday- Wednesday with 2 guys in their 20's in 93 degree humid Florida air. My young fellow workers complained the whole time and took frequent breaks, even took off to McDonalds to "go to the bathroom". Old Gman just kept plodding along only stopping for water and a Peanut…

Long post….but hell, it’s taken me almost four years! ONEDERLAND, finally! Although it seems to have taken me forever, I’ve arrived. I was banded way back in Sept 09. I struggled to find that green zone, that spot where I wasn’t hungry all the time. I stayed on the diet, eating exactly what I was told to, per all the paperwork given to me by my surgical team. (They are awesome, by the way! ) Then after about a year, my determination dwindled, just as it always did in the past. (hey, I did DIET for a year…not bad for me) I wasn’t feeling any help from the band…..and I knew it, but couldn’t/didn’t do a good enough job of convincing my surgeon of this. We/he…

Three months and two hours ago I was wheeled back into the OR room to have about 85% of my stomach removed. I was nervous, afraid and excited. The entire process working up to that day had gone by in a flash - I went from deciding that I'd look into wls to scheduling the surgery date in less than 3 months as my insurance was shockingly fast. Everyone has their own reasons for undergoing such a big surgery as this and I'm no different. I wanted to be healthy as my weight just kept creeping up and I wanted my co-morbidities to go away. I also wanted to have the realistic chance of beating my pcos enough to have children biologically before it's too late. And, well, I…

Finally its been 2 long gone years since I had my gastric sleeve done at columbia presbyterian hospital in NYC with Dr Aaron Roth on june 07,2011. I was at a max 565 pounds undocumented, and 2 years later im at 300 pounds. Ive lost a staggering 265 pounds in the span of these couple years and I couldnt be any happier with my journey. Here is my newest slideshow which features before surgery pictures and then pictures after my 1st year surgiversary. All the pictures were taken in clubs and whatnot but thats b/c I am a manager and even promoter for a well known DJ here in NYC. Ever since having VSG done, Ive wanted to be involved in the entertainment business somehow, its…
