I was so excited for my surgery and I've pretty much told everyone in my life including co-workers about it. My family has been great, but some of my co-workers have been shady. I've even had a few try to tell me that WLS is cosmetic! As if. Now I am not one who cares too much about what others think. But it's super annoying. half of the reason I shared is because 75% of the women I work with are overweight themselves and perhaps hearing my story would inspire them. Instead they hate. Well they will really hate me a year from now when I'm a size 8. Ha. highest weight = 228 DOS = 219 CW = 203 DOS was May 7th 2013

I cannot believe it's been a year!!! I made one of the best decisions of my life a year ago. Yes, it has been a long road and hard work, yes, it in a continuing success, and you must never give up on yourself. I am down 83lbs as of this morning, and still losing. I am training to run a 5k, and I am very excited. It's hard work, but anyone can do this, you just have to set your mind to it. One of the biggest helps was finding a friend on lap band talk. Syl and I have consistantly talked and she has encouraged me nonstop throughout this journey! I am so very proud of her and just wanna shout out and say, Awesome job sister, leep up the good work, and thanks so much for your…

Been on LBT a long time. I considered myself a listener on here, and not a talker for the first three years. I've started posting recently, but never started a topic. But today I just had to do this. I started at my Band journey in 2009. I have never had any band issues, as some may know, I did have an installation issue that was corrected. ( And yes, like others I think I have the best doctor/staff in the world. ) So I was 324 miserable, unhealthy, tired all the time pounds when I started. I am so happy to say that today.... on 3/22.. I WEIGH 222 lbs on my scale. I haven't seen those numbers in over 20 years!! Over ONE HUNDRED POUNDS LOST! I will reach m…

Im not lazy at all its just physically impossible for me. Any thoughts or experience?

By the time I was 17, I had lost all hope of ever being under 300 pounds. I thought I would never be a happy, healthy person. Today, at 20 (2 months after surgery) I have said goodbye to the 300s. I never want to see them again. I'm working everyday to become a happy healthier Molly. 99.6 more pounds until goal - doesn't seem so bad now that I have proven to myself I can lose 60!

We just returned from a two week road trip to a family reunion in California. All of the family we saw have never seen me at this weight. The last time they saw me I was pushing 350 lbs. At the reunion I was 190 lbs and participated in every activity and most importantly, was in every picture taken. I am getting the pics printed off today and I am so proud of the way I look and how my mind, attitude and body have been completely transformed by this surgery! Don't put it off another minute! Here is my family and myself at the incredibly windy Point Lobos State Reserve in Carmel, CA.

I've been wondering what my first NSV might be...essentially trying things out that I couldn't do or was way too afraid to do before....well, we hit the pool today (me and my two little munchkins) and I was able to easily get in and out without having to use the ladder! I haven't hoisted my body up like that for a loooong time... The best part was that i didn't even think about it until i was already out of the pool. I just did it. When it hit me i just stopped in my tracks and if i was less worried about looking like a crazy lady i would have danced a little jig right then and there. It made me all the more motivated. I've been exercising too...running and Zumba …

So I'm coming up to 10 months out (Sept 4th 2012) and I thought I would share my story I've lost 56kg so am now currently 109kg. I sometimes worry that I haven't lost enough and that I'm not 'skinny' yet but I look at these pics and how far I've come and I'm so stoked. I mean that weight didn't pile on overnight so I need to sometimes cut myself a break. If your anything like me you to need to give yourself a pat on the back. I want to lose another 30-ish kilos but I just want to happy healthy and the best that I can be.

Sometime back some of us on here were discussing company's that offer an "incentive $$$" to their employees for completing a well being assessment/biometric screening. I did boycott for a couple of years....but, then figured what the heck. So yesterday I go to this at work and they do their screenings....all the normal stuff, height/weight/bloodtest, etc. I completely forgot about the required 8 hours of fasting before the bloodtest....but, they said they'd do it anyways. Keep in mind about 2 hours before the test, I had two ribs, half an ear of corn, some broccoli salad, AND homemade fruit salad. When the machine spit out the results, the nice lady goes....."you s…

  38. Tomorrow is my official one year anniversary. This time last year I was so scared and excited about the surgery that was to happen the next morning. I remember the 1 hour drive to the hospital. I was so sick, miserable, and huge at that time and I knew I had to do this to get my life back. I knew that when I went through the surgery room doors, there would be no turning back. When I awoke, I had pain and thought to myself "what in the world have I done". I was so thirsty and had so much stuff hooked to me. I had a pain pump catheter that was dispensing pain meds straight to my new tummy. By the afternoon, I was walking around and the next morning, I was ready t…

  39. One of the goals that I set for myself shortly after I started riding a bike after surgery was that I was going to complete a 100 mile bike ride. At the time I thought it was kind of outrageous of a goal to complete with in a year from my surgery date. The last weekend in July I will be headed up to Burlington VT to complete that goal. This is a donation based ride that I need to raise money for. I choose this ride to use this, lets call it, a second chance to try and do what I could to help someone that helped me. 2 years ago I found out that I had type 2 Diabetes. I was in denial for a few days but snapped out of it quickly. I did not ask the doc many questions at th…

Hey all, Been away for a while being very busy but I wanted to drop in and give some great news. For the first time since my sophomore year in high school I am below 300 lbs. Weight loss has slowed down but is still progressing. I am feeling great and am way more active than I have been in years. Pants size is down from a 56/58 to a 44! So, I am very happy and I hope to keep going. Still got some more weight to get rid of. Here are my numbers. Sleeved 12/26/12 *420 lbs* 01/10/13 -40 lbs. *380 lbs* 01/17/13 -8 lbs. *372 lbs* 02/27/13 -22 lbs. *350 lbs* 03/26/13 -15 lbs. *335 lbs* 06/26/13 -37 lbs. *298* So, as of this point I am down 122 lbs…

So after the band, what contributes to your success? I know the restriction is there but do you count calories and how many do you allow yourself a day 1000/1200/2000? Or high protein/ low carb? Or since the band gives restriction, do you just eat whatever and just get full a lot faster? My dr said just watch your calories... I'm curious what everyone else does.

I actually think I have a problem. I have my routine. 7 am I pee, strip and weigh. If the number is good, I think about that all day and smile to myself. If there's no loss, especially for days in a row, I start wondering if I'm not Exercising enough, if I'm exercising too much, if I'm eating too many carbs, if I'm eating to many calories or not enough. It's crazy making. Thing is though, I'm not sure I want to stop. I live for those loss days, they're a high for me. But in all actuality, I'd really like to be free from this. I don't know if I can do it though. It's like when we had mini snickers in the house and I wanted them really bad. I didn't want DH to hi…
