I am struggling to get my food intake in right now. I can eat 1/2 cup of Beans with cheese or a 3/4 of a greek yogurt or 1/2 cup of tuna salad but thats about it. Im not sure what else to add to my "menu". I am drinking about 60 oz a day of fluids....What other things have you tried that you enjoyed..it sure can bet boring....lol My tummy did NOT like cottage cheese at all or the applesauce...boo!

It's a little late for this question since my surgery is tomorrow but I was wondering if anyone has had their surgery at Park Plaza hospital in Houston and how the staff and rooms were. How long was your stay in the hospital?

Yesterday was what would have been my 10 yr anniversary. It was a long day. I actually volunteered to work on Sunday so my mind would be elsewhere. Yes I know, LAME! Working on Sundays isn't my idea of fun seeing as I already 7 days a week anyway. One thing however shadowed this day I wanted to forget. I am 3 pounds away from my goal. It has taken me a lifetime to reach this goal. I look in the mirror and I feel good. I smile. But I wish this moment could of been shared with the person I spent the last 10 yrs of my life with. We are now not even friends. She asked me to cancel her cell phone services and take her off my insurance. She is now forever gone and it hurts. I w…

For several years I've had to deal with asthma. If it was cold out, I couldn't breath. i hated talking on the phone because talking would start me coughing. Exercise would set off wheezing and coughing. There wasn't much I did that didn't set it off, before my WLS. While I was sitting here, reading the posts and responses, I realized that I have not had any coughing or wheezing for some time. I can talk on the phone, any situation and not have to excuse myself because of non-stop coughing. I can exercise, sing, anything I want. How great is that? Has anyone else had a problem go away since losing weight?

2 years ago yesterday I started my journey with Ralph (my lap band). The left picture was 3 weeks post op... So down 40 lbs from my heaviest... The right... This morning.

I hear many stories that people had to get a revision surgery. Is it possible that the doctor didn't perform the surgery correct to give you the best results or did the patient not follow the diet directions properly. I guess my question is it possible for the doctor to be the reason for you not having success.

Success beyond 2-3 years after surgery, IS IT REALLY POSSIBLE? Are any of you out there?

Surgery Date 1/29/13 Down 50 lbs and feeling great!! I still would like to lose about 20-30 more lbs. I haven't been this size in about 5 years and it feels great to see results! I did not have to do a pre-op diet so what I've lost has been post surgery. I eat everything in moderation (I have a sleeve of steel) - including sweets, Pasta, bread and yes, even fast food (AHH!) LOL - I just eat less. I'm not telling others to do what I do, or looking for comments/advice on my eating habits, I'm simply doing what works for ME! I haven't had any problems and the pay off has been amazing! I want to encourage ANYONE who is considering this surgery to really think about fol…

I am 9 months out (down 83lbs) and to my knowledge and based on my weight lost (which is slow but sure 2 lbs per week) I have never seen a stall or weight gain. The secret is simply and I will share this with you. ONLY weigh once a month (and I have since surgery) if you do this you will never know if you have stalled or not by the time you weigh your stall should be minimal or non exsist. Do your part keep up the protein, increase water, maintain low carb intake eat something every 3 hrs (small) to increase matablism and workout. This I believe has been successful for me oh my doctor concurs. Try it let me know what you think. Good luck to all

I had made a post recently that I was .5 away from having lost 45 lbs... today I have made it to 45! My highest weight was 357. Surgery was May 6 and I was 350. I am now at 312! My first fill of 4.5 cc out of 14 was June 3. I went in expecting to have my second today and was told my loss was way over average and there would be no reason to give me another. It's so surreal to me that I've lost that much - too bizarre to process in my head. I recently put up my first profile picture on Facebook that I've had in years. It wouldn't seem like a big deal to many, but it felt so good to be able to have a picture there I felt good enough about to share. I know I was th…

After almost 6 months, I finally hit ONEDERLAND while on vacation in Florida! I had to stop at Bed, Bath & Beyond to find a scale (thanks Creekwood!) and stepped on, then stepped off, then back on to make sure of what I was seeing! I'm beyond excited, but not only about the number on the scale, but about how my life has changed since I decided to get healthy. I've learned to LOVE exercise, especially running. Who knew??!! And I've also learned to control the food and not let the food control me. It's such a wonderful, liberating feeling. I'm also so very grateful for the friends I've made here as well. There have been days that I wanted to quit trying, felt fr…

I was at a spa the last couple of days that I've been to in years past but not recently. I suspected the robe would fit better and it did. I didn't need the extra large and the regular robe closed just fine. However...what I didn't expect and didn't even think about was that I could put my arms at my side and they would stay on the massage table. LOL! In years past I always had to stick my hands under my butt to keep them in place. Wasn't even really aware of that until I didn't have to do it anymore. It just reminds me how we adapt over the years to our size and how that impacts our lives in a negative way. I am so grateful that normalcy is slowly coming back to …

I have lost 70 pounds in 5 mos ( today actually) and I am happy with all most all aspects of this surgery. I am pretty much able to eat what I like with restriction. I have found that I am no longer a big fan of sweets which is a great thing. Most days I really TRY to get a lot of protein in but some days I fail to get the required number. I also have days when I am just NOT thirsty. I was never a big drinker of any liquid besides Milk and Water. I know as it gets hotter I will increase my water, but that is just the thing. I almost NEVER get hot. I battle my husband and son on the AC in the house. They are always hot and I am always cold. I remember when in my 20's when …

Hello VSG family. Has anyone NOT had success with the sleeve? I am Pre-surgery August 7th sleeve date. I keep having nightmares that mine won't work. I guess I'm considered a lightweight at 5'4 and 220 weight and 38 BMI. some are saying that I won't lose much because "I'm not that big" or because I have a lot of muscle tone in my legs well fat is fat and I'm overweight with a host of medical issues. Please give me the good bad and the ugly. I would prefer to hear from sleevers close to my weight. My doctor gave me the choice of the RNY or Sleeve but I believe the sleeve is right for me. Thanks in advance.

Hi all, haven't been on in a few months, it's been a roller coaster ride since mid April. My family and I went on vacation first week of April, the week after we get home my lower back went on me then that progressed to mid back pain then my neck, guess I overdid the walking that week we were away. I was walking no less than 8 hours a day because we all walked everywhere and I was so proud I could keep up. Then in the middle of it ally mum had heart failure which resulted in her having a pacemaker put in, she's fine now and I'm back to normal thank goodness. Anyways 2nd July was my band anniversary and my goal was to melt away 100 pounds of fat, I somehow managed to …

It has been one heck of a month. I started Pre-op at 240 and now down to 205 and lost over 34 total inches. I am off 9 meds for b/p, diabetes, high cholesterol and no c-pap machine. I am feeling so alive. I have not had any nausea, vomitting or real pain. I have not weighed the same for more than 3 days but i don't worry about that because I am losing and this is a journey fast or slow. Keep at it we all ganied different and will lose different. Trying tto get better at vitamins and eating more protein.

Well I had to come back to tell everyone about my journey..luckily for me it was not as hard as I thought. Was banded 2 years ago..weighed 311 pounds before the surgery..got down to 303 the day of the surgery..and now I have stabled out today @ 178 pounds....yup..133 pounds gone..along with my Type 2 Diabetes and a much lower blood pressure. Did I think I made a mistake at first...duhhh..you bet..those first few long weeks were both scary and humbling but I was bound and determined to make this work for me.My main reasoning/rationale was not only my health issues of course...but I was a self pay and every day I told myself not to mess this up due to all the money that…

My nutrionalist suggested celebrates multi-Vitamin, but I gag, get real flushed, and feel like I'm going to throw up for about 15 minutes after taking it. Does anyone have any suggestions on a good bariatric Multivitamin? Ps. It's a chewable so I'm not sick by the size of the pill.

Has anyone here had deviled eggs after being sleeved? If yes ? Is there a different way to making it or it's the same
-
I don't post here too often anymore, but I know that sharing successes is an important step. I am down - a lot. Who knows exactly how much. I've had so many "starting weights" and "goal weights" I can't even keep them straight anymore. From my highest ever, I'm down around 180 lbs. Yes, I was really that huge. From my revision date, I'm down around 150 lbs. From size 30/32 (or higher) to a consistent L or XL top, 18 jeans (16 if I get Old Navy talls). My skin is a hot mess, as expected. I probably have 2 - 3 sizes' worth of extra skin already, and I'm not at goal yet. There are some problems at this reality, "good problems" that I wouldn't trade for how I us…

Wow... It's hard to believe that it's been a year. On july 3rd, 2012', my life changed. Sometimes it hasn't been easy but I'm healthier now than I've been in a while. I've gone from a size 26 to a size 16. I'm down 70 pounds and still losing. Amazing how much things can change in a year. Lapband has changed my life. Today, I'm waiting on a good friend to get out of the same surgery. He was there for me. And I'm happy to be his support person as he begins his new journey.

Okay to clarify, I have been stuck at 202 for almost two weeks! I'm frustrated. I'm three months out and down 72 pounds. I'm just wondering if anyone has had this problem. I feel like it's because I'm about to be under 200 but maybe just trippin lol. I'm irritated. I've been to the gym three times this week, up in my protein. I don't get it!!! Anyone had this situation before?! Thanks in advance.

Has anyone been on a cruise since having surgery? I'm going on one in 2 weeks and am hoping for some tips on handling being around all that food! I'm thinking of asking our waiter to make me small plates at dinner as I get an overwhelmed feeling when too much food is put in front of me (I never thought I would say such a thing lol). Thanks for any advice... (4 mos. out 60 lbs gone)
