Well, TODAY IS THE DAY! I REACHED MY GOAL TODAY!! I began at my highest weight of 244 last Fall, had surgery on March 19th this year, and reached my 150lb goal TODAY!! I feel like bells and whistles should be going off, but instead, I have celebrated by a 2 mile walk, 30 minutes of weights, a thankful prayer to God for the strength and gumption to do this, a fried egg breakfast, and a sobering, humbling new outlook..THIS IS A WAY OF LIFE FOREVERMORE...I am just beginning to see that this is only the real beginning of the way the rest of my life needs to be..good food, exercise, thankfulness, and being more conscious of my choices and actions where my body is concerned. At…

And the best one yet for me... Yesterday I had a follow up with my surgeon. While listening to my heart he said, "oh wow, your heart rate has gotten so much slower!" YAY!!!!! Prior to surgery my resting heart rate was 120's-130s. Now it's in the 60-70s!!!! I'm loving what all these changes are doing to my body!!!

I'm 100 lbs down from my highest weight as of TODAY. Highest weight recorded was November 2012 - so I've lost 100lbs in 9 months. Had surgery May 2nd and I'm down 58lbs since surgery day. 58 lbs in 3 months -- NOT. BAD. AT ALL. Went from 5x tops, size 34 pants to 2x tops and size 26 pants (which are already getting loose!). Still got a waayyyy to go, but I am already thrilled with the difference I see in myself. Life is good! I'll try to get a pic up soon to show the progress.

OK. Here's mah stats: November 2012: weight 459 Surgery 5/2/13: weight 417 8/3/13 - 3 mo post op: weight 359. That's a total of 100 lbs down from my highest weight!! I lost 42lbs in 6 mo pre-op and have lost 58lbs in 3 months post op. LIFE IS GOOD! Here are some pics. I don't have a lot of "before" shots to choose from, because I didn't like to take pics when I was that heavy. I see a major difference and look so forward to seeing all the changes in store for me!

One of the reasons I decided to get WLS was because of the long list of medications I had to take. My health was getting worse and I was no longer interested in doing anything I used to like. Today I am 7 weeks out, 35 lbs lighter, and on a visit to my PCP she took me off 3 of my meds and reduced 1 more. I am going to go for blood work and then see her again in a month when we may discontinue more! I feel like I am getting back in control of my life and won't wonder how I am going to get through each and every day. Feeling excited and just wanted to share!

Okay I had lost over 175 before surgery, but had been stuck for some time. Decided to go forward with the lap band 1 so I could lose more and 2 I want to keep it off. So any tool that will help is welcome. I was to see my PCP on Thursday but they called today and she had to go out of town tomorrow could I come in today at 3:45, sure why not! Dang it all I had to face her very telling scale, but happy to say down 8 pounds! I'm one happy girl and Wednesday I can start phase 2 of the diet, wow what will I do with real food?? Just looking forward to the day I can chew again, sure do miss it! Anyway well wishes to all on LBT this fine evening!

I thought it would be funny to try on my wedding dress for my kids this weekend. I knew it was going to be loose but wasn't really prepared for what happened. It was so big it barely stayed up! It is at least three sizes too big! What a great 8th anniversary present....my husband has never seen my this small. LOVE MY BAND!! Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk

Surgery has been such wonderful blessing for me. I'm down 40 pounds since surgery 05/21/2013 and 51 since pre op. Cried at being in a size 12 and the 180's for the first time in my adult life and now the 12's are loose. Loving the sleeved life.

Wow where as the year gone? I had my surgery on August 1, 2012 and I wouldn’t change anything for the world. It has been by far the best decision of my life. My starting weight was 232 and now I am at 152. I have a new lease on life entirely. I have picked up running as my new hobby and to date I have participated in 4 – 5Ks, 1 – 8K and I am signed up for a 15K this Sunday and a ½ Marathon on Sept. 8th. I was a size 18/20 when I started and now I am a size 8/10 depending on the designer/manufacturer. I never thought I would ever fit into a size 8 in my life! I can now shop in all of the stores I was embarrassed to walk into because of my weight and knowing I coul…

I've been a quiet follower in this site for some time now but this is my first actual post. I had surgery on 5/13/13 (about 2-1/2 months ago) and have lost a total of 60 pounds (including 20 lbs on the pre-op liquid diet that I only did for about 6 days). As most of us here have, I have struggled with weight problems my entire life. I can't remember when, besides maybe when I was about 7 years old, was the last time I was at a "normal" weight. Still I would diet and excercise on and off and lose some, and then regain it all and more, and I did this on and off throughout my life... Eventually I hit my highest weight ever (or so I thought) at 267 and I decided that I would …

Hi all. When I post my successes, I am hoping to inspire and have it not seem like I am bragging because I’m not. I just remember well what it feels like when just starting this journey…needing to lose so much weight, it seems like an impossible task. Also, not knowing what it will be like living with the band, and dealing with bumps in the road, plateaus, etc. can be very challenging. Seeing as how I’m not ‘finished’ with this journey, I thought my little success stories can help the newbies and for the vets, remind them of their goals and successes as well. So…this weekend, I was in the Pocono Mountains with my son and his family at their summer home. No Myfitn…

Help! I am SO excited to be only 4 lbs from my goal of 150!! I always had the thought I would reward myself in some special way. The only problem with that is...The only rewards I can think of involve FOOD! My husband wants to take me to dinner or let me choose an indulgence. That's real sweet, and I appreciate it, but is there a good reward to mark the occasion without food? I have already bought new clothes, I just had a birthday last week, and I just got a pedicure, and we don't have the time or money to take a trip. Anybody got any good ideas? What do you y'all do to celebrate?

I had my Gastric Sleeve surgery on April 3, 2013.... Today is August 4, 2013. I have lost a total of 102 lbs. I am blown away along with everyone who knows me. I started at 325lbs and now in just a little over 16 weeks, I am at 223lbs. NOTHING SHORT OF INCREDIBLE! I did want to share what I feel were 2 keys to my success for anyone thinking of having the surgery..... #1 biggest thing... Exercise.. even if I is 20 minutes a day.... Since a week after my surgery, I have worked out approx. 45-60 minutes a day-- walking 1-2 miles on the treadmill and then upper body weights lot of reps.... #2, a very supportive wife. She was and is there with me every step of the way....but…

I started my preop diet seven months ago today, was banded on January 14th, and as of this morning, I am down 78 lbs. with 39 or so to go. I will admit that I entered into this banded life kicking and screaming. I had no choice as my arthritis is so bad I need a knee replacement and there wasn't a doctor in the world who would do it at the weight I was a year ago...267 lbs. On my size frame, that's a bad bad situation. All I can say today is that I'm so glad I had this done. My weight loss has been so good that I will be able to have the surgery six months earlier than my doctor expected. The additional weight loss I'm hoping to have is just gravy compared to the…

I'm 7 weeks post op! Pre weight 210, now I'm 180! I'm only 4' 11 1/2 in! I have found out I'm super lazy, more so than I thought! I work 40 to 50 hours a week ER nurse, have 13 year old boy/girl twins, and, I cannot get motivated to exercise & eat RIGHT! I am disappointed in myself for still eating bad, just in much smaller portions! And, now, I question my portion sizes! Every time I eat, I think, did I eat too much, did I stretch my sleeve, am I stretching my sleeve! I know what I NEED to do I just can't seem to do it!! I have a hiatel hernia & I burp all the time, especially after I eat! My dr said I'm an air swallower & that is why I burp so much…

Well, for the last three weeks, I've been very upset because the scale hasn't been moving, but all of a sudden (this week) since Monday, I have lost 2 pounds. Finally, some results! Yippee! BTW I was banded on June 28th. Total loss now = 22 pounds.

I'm interested in some of the tales told by those who have had WLS to those who don't really need to know your business. There Are some people I don't mind sharing the truth, but then there are others that would only judge if they knew. Any stories that aren't really "lying". How do you explain the strict diet afterwards? Etc. Thanks in advance. Also appreciated any generally guidance dealing with questions by people afterwards .

I am wearing a shirt from Old Navy (xxl) I bought w/o trying on over a year ago. Got home and it fit terribly. All spare tire. Never wore it until today! And the capris (20) I couldn't get into at the start of summer and today after wearing them straight from the dryer for a few hours - are already starting to get a little baggy in places. Yahoooo!

Packing for vacation and usually I am a stress case because, being a short fat girl, it's almost impossible to walk into a store and find an outfit if you forget something, especially as our vacation home is in a small beach town with only one department store. This go around, I know that I can walk into the stores and buy tops or PJs or a bathing suit or GASP!!! pants and not even be the biggest size in the store. I AM SO EXCITED!

Block sale in my neighborhood today. I sold tons of 22W-24W clothes. Feels weird to get rid of the clothes I have been wearing for so long! Kind of scary in a way, but I know to move forward, I need to let go of the past. With all the times I have regained weight before.....let's hope I don't ever wear that size again because all the clothes are GONE!

So went to the gym and weighed in for the first time in a week and a half today as I had been on vacation for the last week. I was anxious about it because it was the first time I hadn't tracked for any period of time, and even did eat some things I probably shouldn't have but not any large amounts by any means. Well I Weighed in and to my surprise I was down 6 pounds, that is actually a better week then I had been getting lately. I guess it was probably the extra activity, I do have a 10 yr old son and a 5 yr old daughter that I had to chase around all week, and also my metabolism probably needed the boost of the diet change. But now back to my normal regime. For th…

Hey everyone!! I just wanted to see from everyones experience when was their "enough moment"? Mine was when when I reached 289 I was like wowwww this cant be me?!?! It was like I knew my clothes sizes where getting bigger but I didn't want to except it. You know? Has your S/O ever answered this question like this "Honey I shouldn't have dried that shirt it shrunk" he says "maybe its not the shirt maybe you have gotten bigger" Damn when he said that I was like thats it for me something has to change. So I decided enough is enough and I need more help!!! Looking forward to hearing everyone else's too.
