It's been a year since my surgery, and I've lost a total if 25 lbs. Every day is a struggle to watch what I eat. Dr isn't happy with weight loss and would like to do a revision, sleeve or bypass. What's worse is hubby went on calorie counting binge and has lost over 50 lbs. every day I hear how much fiber, protein, and calories he has eaten. I gets numerous ?s on what we are having, what is a serving, etc. He's driving me nuts, and all I want to do is crawl in a hole and eat. It's hard when you have no one to help you over the humps.

I had a good week this week. 1. I noticed I am down another notch on my belt. One more notch and it is time to buy another smaller belt. That will be my third belt since April. 2. My daughter's teacher, who had not seen me since May, told me I look great. (Side note, any 46 year old man loves to hear a 20 something woman notices them, let alone says they look good). 3. A guy in my office stopped me and asked me how much weight I lost. (Second side note - Guys don't mention weight loss to other guys unless they lost a body part or something) 4. My wife gave me a hug this morning and locked her hands behind my back. She said she hasn't been able to do that since high…

  9. Lately I've been struggling with the fact none of my clothes feel right. My pants feel like I'm wearing them too low and my shirts feel way too lose and they probably look pretty baggy; but at the same time if I try on clothes that look like they fit they feel too small and I'm afraid they'l make me look fat again. I'm still losing 5lbs a month on average and have alot more weight to go so I don't want to buy a ton of clothes but I know I'll need to pick up at least a few items before my goal. I know it's just something I'm gonna have to work through but I wanted to vent and see if anyone else had any strategies for getting through this phase.

I almost couldn't believe my ears when the scale spoke today!!!! Now on to break out of the 200's which will take some time, but every pound lost is a pound closer to onderland!

Since not many people know about my surgery, I had to come on here to share about my surgerversary! I was a low BMI'er and self-paid a ton of money and this has been the best decision of my life. My high weight was 220, day of surgery 190, current weight 140. I'm 5'5". I'm trying to take off the last couple of pounds but I'm super happy at 140 and so is my surgeon. My bloodwork was awesome and I'm feeling great. Here are some pictures. Even one with the fabulous Dr. Cirangle!

I did exercise but could have done more an even though I'm still 30 lbs from my goal I feel that even if I don't lose another 30 lbs I still feel like it was worth it. I have lost 154lbs total as of today an I feel great! Very little loose skin and with some more sit ups and cardio I can and will tone but all in all just overall healthier. No more meds for diabetes or blood pressure. Just high Protein living. ;o) Wishing everyone well on their journey to living healthier!" Before 384lbs After 23…

I had my sleeve done Jan 9, 2013. I have been following all the rules, weighing and measuring all my foods. I do some exercise but need to work on that. I try to keep my carbs under 80 and my protein over 80. I use LoseIt and MyFitnessPal to track every bite. I have been losing steadilly since my prediet although I have really slowed down this summer as I am getting closer to my goal weight. So when my husband and I decided to go on a 2.5 week car trip out west I got very nervous! No scales, no computer, no gastric sleeve forum to read everyday to help keep me going. I was so happy when we returned yesterday to find I had lost 2lbs! This is the first vacation I have ever …

I have flown for the last two weeks for work and haven't had to ask for one and today I'm on a different airline than I normally fly and I don't need an extender for their planes either. Lost 63 pounds since surgery. A year ago I was almost 300 hundred pounds. Got down to 280 just before surgery. Now I'm 217. Been losing approximately 4 pounds a week. Working out a ton. No stalls so far. About 30 pounds to goal. Is this what you consider an expected response to surgery? My nutritionist indicated that I should be losing only 1 pound a week after 1 month out. That hasn't been the case. I'm not complaining, I feel great. Though people who haven't seen me in months think I have suffered some kind of serious illness.

  35. I had my surgery on April 15, 2013. I had some complications, during my surgery my spleen was nicked and was not noticed by doctor. While I was recovery my blood pressure started going down. When the doctor examined me he new something was wrong and brought me back to the O R again and had to remove my spleen. After a week in the hospital I was sent home. The next week I was having trouble swallowing and pain in my throat and chest and found out that my throat was injured from the oxygen tube down my throat. Then after I went home I couldn't drink and passed out about five times. At its worse I had to stay in the hospital for two days and the two other times I went to the…

Next week it will be my 9 month follow up appointment and stoked to be 2lbs from first goal to be within a normal weight! SW 276lbs CW 170lbs. Size 14 to a Size 6. I am very fortunate that everything has been super easy for me and have not had any stalls yet. The key for me is to keep calorie intake high as I am fairly active. I find I dont lose as much if I go below 800cal. I currently am getting a few concerned comments about how I have lost too much or that I have an eating disorder which my surgeon warned me about. Its just funny that you can't win either way! Good luck to all those pre-oppers out there, truely best decision ive made

So today is my 2 month check-in and I weigh under 230 lbs for the first time since somewhere back in the 80's!!!! I have lost 37 and 1/10th lb which brings me to 229.4 Actually once I hit 232 I was lower than I had been since the 80's but getting under the 230 mark seems like a bigger deal. This past month was the hardest part but things are starting to go more smoothly now. Thanks for listening.

In honor of that, I've updated my signature ticker (which hadn't been updated since I was at 261), I also edited my profile pictures and added some more current pictures of me. Never in a billion years thought I would ever be "normal" weight... But I did it! I am 5'11" and weigh 150 and wear a size 8/10 now (from a size 24). I lost 123 pounds in 2.5 years, been maintaining for the last 6-8 months. Just wanted to share so others know that it can be done. No more insulin or other medications, no worry about fitting in air plane seats or roller coasters. There have been ups and downs and I still don't always recognize the person in the mirror but I would do it again in a heartbeat! Good luck to everyone in their journey...

It took me a while to realize I had another NSV yesterday. I got home from work and had some free time before dinner (because I wasn't starving hooray!) and made a spur of the moment decision to go to the nail salon and get a manicure. I haven't had one in years....I felt it was like putting 'lipstick on a pig'. I was so fat and ugly, why bother polishing my nails. Well...I'm not so fat anymore and don't feel so unworthy. So...I'm now typing with pretty mauve nails.... Can't thank you enough lapband.

Been a while since I've posted here. Figured i would check in and FINALLY post pics of my progress. I'm 40 years old, and 6'5. Was Sleeved last year on June 5th. It's been an amazing year since surgery. I've gotten a life back that I never thought I would live again and can actually do things I wasn't physically able to do. Being Sleeved was the best thing I've ever done for myself! I still have a way to hit goal. My Doc said a goal of 250-275 would be realistic and ideal for my height. Maybe by this time next year I'll be there. The Before shot is me the day before surgery. The "during" shot is me yesterday at 335lbs..... 170lbs gone!

I have been struggling lately. I'm definitely in a plateau and I know what I need to do to break it. I'm just enjoying summer WAY TOO MUCH!! So to make myself feel better about maintaining I decided to look at my measurement chart. Sure that was encouraging 11 inches in my waist. Wow!!! But this is what helped even more and I encourage you to do it.... I held the measuring tape up to each body area at my OLD measurements so I could visualize how much smaller I am...it really helped me to see how far I have come in the past 11 months. Stall or not it will boost your confidence and make you feel good about how far you have come. Tell me how it made you feel...
