  1. Good Luck... Each insurance company and case is different... The person that submits insurance for my doctor told me it would take at least two weeks and possibly even a month. She was shocked when BCBS of IL approved mine in 2 days. I think it's rare that it happens this quick but in my case it did. Luckily they moved my surgery date up by 3 weeks.
  2. Hey Haley, My surgery was not that bad. I had very little pain after leaving the hospital. Just slept a lot. Walked often and Drank plenty of Water. Hope things go well for you... Try to relax..

  8. Hey juliec74. I'm in Birmingham also. I was banded on 7/3. What dr do u use? My getting a little nervous about my first fill.

  10. I use Matrix. It was the one that my Dr. recommended. I was surprised that it taste pretty good.

  14. Mandy, Contact BCBS of IL directly.. I just had lap band surgery on 7/3 and it was covered by Blue Cross Blue Shield of IL My BMI was 41 and i had no comorbids. It might be the policy that your employer has but it's worth double checking. I contacted them directly serveral times and they were always very helpful. Good Luck...
