Recently, I began to ponder all the amazing things this surgery has given me. I absoutely would get a LapBand again if I had to go back in time. It has been the best thing that has ever happened to me...with the exception of hubby and kids obviously. So I thought I would make a list of all of these things. I know that reading stuff like this helped me to encourage me when I was starting out. Thank you LapBand for... 1. self-confidence-I now look in the mirror or at picture and am happy with the person looking back at me. Seeing the results of my efforts is priceless...I have reached goals I thought were just dreams. 2. control- I no longer feel controlled by food or t…

I'm hesitant to post pics, but after seeing them myself, I actually see a little difference in my body, which is exciting and motivational. I've still got a good ways to go, but this is around my half way mark I suppose. When I started in October I was nearly 400, weighing in at 394. So, I finally took some pictures recently. I was 298 in the second pic, and 394 in the first. I've been able to keep most of my strength, my bench is down to 340 from 375, deadlift is 765 from 810, and squat suffered the most, last max effort was 510, down from 585. My mile time has gone from 16 minutes to 11:40. Been having fun on this journey, not taking it way too seriously and…

I am sooooo excited!!! 50 pounds ago I could not find a comfortable bra. I had basically given up and only wore one when I absolutely had to because they were so miserable. I squeeeeezed into a 44DD because it was so hard to find a 46DD. Well about 5-6 weeks ago I was able to buy 40DD and they were SOOOOO comfortable. I had to wear them on the loosest notch but they felt great! ALL DAY EVEN!! Over the last couple weeks I had to switch to the tightest notch and now that I have lost even more weight I can no longer wear these 40DDs that I just bought!! I am super comfy in a 38DD!!! I AM ELATED!!! Hooray for happy, comfy boobs!!!

I'm 13 months post sleeve, Ive lost 104 lbs. I haven't lost or gained weight since January. For me this journey has become about staying the course. About not fading back into what I was & not giving up on my goal to lose 35 more lbs. Im hungry again, I eat more & sometimes I don't choose what I should. Those times I have to acknowledge my choices & forgive lmy weakness, so I can make better choices next time. I won't give in, give up, be that big stranger again. It would be easier to fade into food, but through my WLS experience, I discovered strength, I am capable of living thin. Eat small, Be small! Stay the course!

I went to a wedding on Friday night (floral dress) and Father's day brunch on Sunday (polka dot dress). They are both size 12. Prior to the surgery I was in a size 22 dress. I hate to look in the mirror, but must admit looking at these pics makes me realize I HAVE lost weight. Black dress is pre-surgery and a size 22

Woohoo! Gastric sleeve surgery 5-18-12. From a size 30 jeans and size 30/32 top to a size 8 jeans & size MD top. From 338 to 181. When I put the 8's on, and they fastened , I seriously sat in the fitting room floor and cried! The sleeve is the best thing I've ever done for myself. I would beg anyone who is struggling with their weight, do not wait, do it for YOU! Kristie

My nephew just had an elite military graduation, and I'm happy to report that I was comfortable and HAPPY to have my picture taken while there. 70 pounds ago, I avoided the camera at all costs! I'm not exactly where I want to be, but I've come a long way.

Hello everyone! Here is my "I am almost there" photos. This photo is more for me, as I am right now, today, after a trip to the gym as I still struggle with my mirror image. I still see the same person in the mirror I always was so I'm hoping by popping up a before and after my mind comes to grip that I have lost almost all of my excess weight. As of now I have lost 120 pounds at this point. I wanted to lose another 12-22 pounds to get to my personal goal but the scale will not budge, and hasn't for a few months. The doctor says I'm at a healthy weight, so right now I am more focused on trying to reduce my body fat percentage as it is still super high. Once …

I have been struggling with noticing the changes that come from weight loss. I have now lost 67lbs and still had trouble seeing it. Till now, I was looking at old vacation photos and saw how large my face was only 10mnths ago. I have only been banded for 6 months but this was an eye opener for me. [/img]

i work in a 4 story office building across the hall from us was an office who moved from the first floor to the 4th floor. this lady i use to talk to all the time in the hallway/ladies room was in that office. she was as sweet as can be and she was my size/height me and her together resembled a football defense line up. i adored her as she was the nicest gal...since they moved upstairs, i rarely saw her anymore today, i passed her in the hallway, she said who are you? do i know you? i said yes, its me gloria....she said what have you done to yourself?? i told her the truth, i changed from eating junk and fast foods to fresh and started walking (i do not know her wel…

Several years ago I asked my dad what he wanted for Father's Day. He told me that he wanted me to lose 50 pounds. Now he wasn't mean about it or ugly in any way, he just wanted me to be healthy. I've dieted off and on since then but never lost as much as 50 pounds at one time or even anywhere close to Father's Day. This year for Father's Day I was able to tell him that I've lost just over 80 pounds since the end of February. He cried when I told him, then he laughed! He told me that my overall health was the most important thing to him first off, but #2 just how much plastic surgery was I going to need to keep me from flapping in the wind?!? LOL! That, Daddy, is ye…

I'm 5 months out today down 73 since surgery, 123 total. I tried on my pre-op goal shirt today. Nerd alert! The picture on the left doesn't look so bad due to meticulous appropriate angling of the camera. The picture on the right makes me really glad that I work for plastic surgeons and my favorite one said he'd give me a good discount on an arm lift. Yikes.

I know it's just a number, and I know I still have a ways to go...but I got on the scale this morning and it said 199.2. I am under 200 lbs. Wow...I never though I'd see it. Thank you lapband, and thank you to all the great folks on this forum who have supported me on this journey. I know we're only connected virtually but the first thing I wanted to do after seeing that number was to let you all know that I reached a significant milestone. Have a great day everyone!

I am having surgery next Friday all my life I have been an overeater I mean just eat because its there I'm just afraid that months or years down the road I will be doing this again . I am using the sleeve as a tool to a healthier life but of course there's always a bit of doubt anyone eating more than they thought ??? or is it impossible because of the restriction the sleeve makes . Sent from my iPhone using VST

My sexy is back as once again....I am snapping necks when I am out and about........got my mojo back! So....why did I in one day consume 1300 calories when in all the days prior, I could only get in 700! WTF! The first shot is me in August 2012, somewhere at or above my highest recorded weight of 383. I'm wearing a size 5x (32/34 or thereabouts) pant and 4x top. The second is about two weeks after my October 22, 2012 procedure in early November. The last is me today at about 280. I'm wearing a size 22 pant and a 2x top. I don't even recognize the person in the mirror some days and I no longer dread it when people say I look like my pictures. I've still got a way to go, but I'm very pleased with the results a little more than four months out.
-
First picture was 4 days pre op and second picture was just now (3 weeks and 2 days post op).

Yay, just about 8 months out and I have hit my initial goal of 100 pounds! I'm so excited, when I started this process this was my goal weight, I changed it a bit so I'm not at goal yet but I am 100 pounds down, Yay, yay, yay! The best part is my husband comes home for his mid tour leave tomorrow, so I get to show of my 100 pound lighter body to him! Here's a pic of the outfit I will be picking him up from the airport in. I wanted to also make sure I said a huge THANK YOU to everyone on here who has been so supportive in this journey. You guys rock!

This is a weird one, but I can link it directly to the surgery. I used to bite my nails. I had gotten it a bit under control, but still had issues. Now I'm not biting my nails, because I don't want to accidentally swallow a sharp bit and maybe hurt my sleeve!

Most of you know my story... Had surgery 02-21-12. Weighed in at a whopping 340 lbs. today I stepped on the scale and weighed 147. For a total weight loss of 193 lbs. I can't begin to express how much this surgery has changed my life.... For the better!! For those of you just starting out... This can be done you just have to stay vigilant to the program and be patient. For those of you still fighting for every pound you are having to lose... Keep fighting. I love this forum more then anyone can believe. It has kept me on the straight and narrow and allowed me to help others

Had a nice lunch with my mom and then we hit the mall, oh my, it had been a while since I had been shopping and boy was it fun. Ended up in a regular department store, plus size section but regular department store and purchased size 1X shirts, I was so excited. This time last year I was wearing size 26/28 and they were tight and 3X's were beginning to get tight. I still have big arms so I buy 3/4 length sleeves plus I stay cold all the time anyway year around so it doesn't bother me but these shirts were super duper cute. Just had to share. thx.
