  11. thank you all so much!! I am very happy now, and happiness is the key to life!!!!
  12. Hey everyone!! Wanted to update you all and tell you all that I have lost 102 lbs so far! I am 8 months post op, and I feel GREAT! I am 23 years old and was obese, now I am not longer taking ANY medications anymore! , having heart disease and being obese was very scary. Now I don't have to worry about my health as much! For those who know me here know that I suffered from severe depression after surgery. I was hospitalized because I was ready to end it all... I guess I never realized how much food meant to me. I was a true food addict. Now I am on prozac and am happy as can be!! I plateaued for about 1 month at the 4 month mark, but now it just continues to come off... I am now 135 LBS!!!!! I never thought I'd see the day! The only issue I am having is eating, I forget to eat a lot, and sometimes I only eat once a day. I have no been following a diet, I eat whatever I want. I don't eat ice cream or candy, but I do eat pizza and chicken nuggets. BIG THANKS to all the people on here that supported me from day 1! I met a lot of great people on this website!
  13. Thank you Mary!! John, sorry I don't know why I said the sleeve, he had gastric bypass. I've been hearing amazing things about Dr. Kurian, I'm excited!
  14. So as of now I am going to NYU to see Dr. Kurian, she is the same surgeon that performed the sleeve on Al Roker! So excited, I'm still so surprised at all of the visits I have to do... Seminar, consult, nutrionist, Nurse visit, etc.! It'll all be worth it in the end I'm sure =) If anyone is from around the NYC area and would like to reccomend a surgeon please do so!! I would like to see another just to make absolute sure that I am totally comfortable  Thanks =P
  15. Extra skin happens =( Glad you lost so much weight though!! Great job
  16. Thank you all so much for your replies! I have so many questions, so many concerns. It scares me a little bit, like wow what if something terrible were to happen? I saw on Dr. Oz that he thinks it is a under-done life changing surgery that has more positive outcome. I will definitely be contacting you all that give your emails or we can speak on this website.

  18. All of my friends think that I am just being lazy and that I can do it on my own, but I can't!! The weight doesn't come off.... this is a very last resort.
  19. Hello I'm new here! Since I was 16 years old I have always struggled with my weight... I went from being 115 lbs to now 210 lbs.... I am 22 years old and I am planning on being a nurse. My biggest issue is that I have some health problems, most of them started just appeared as I started gaining weight. I have severe IBS which affects my everyday life, I also have chronic acid reflux which I have also never had when I was thinner... about 3 years ago i had a cyst the size of a golf ball attached to my ovarie that ruptured, I had internal bleeding and had to have emergency surgery... this happens once a year now. I have had 3 surgerys for this. I was also born with heart disease, my weight has been affecting my cardiac health more and more. I also have high cholesterol. I've had doctors tell me that this weight needs to come off, its affecting me. I have been trying everything to drop the weight, I've had 3 personal trainers and nutritionists for the last 4 years, I went to fat camp I tried weight loss programs and specials diets... I did lose weight but within the last 4 years its been 15 lbs off, 20 lbs on... I know gastric bypass is extreme, but at this point I need to lose this weight desperately... I am too young to have so many health issues, and I know most of them contribute to my weight.... Let me know what you think, and if I sound like a good candidate for this surgery. I am going to NYU for a consultation on June 11th.
