Force protein or just get liquid in?
My favorite protein drink is Injury unflavored mixed in to HEB Mootopia skim milk with a squirt of lite chocolate syrup. Very tasty -have one first thing every morning. Followed by 0% Greek yogurt with little fruit and granola. I use a dash of Truvia and let it sit for awhile to soften the granola.

New here! Any low BMIers?
I had a BMI of 33. After 10 days of liquid diet, I was at BMI of 30.3 when I went to the hospital. I am overall very healthy, but being post-menopausal, I knew it would be very hard to lose any other way, so I decided to have WLS. I am 3 days now and doing well. I had my surgery in Houston with Dr Sherman Yu and he was wonderful I was self- pay.

It's Happening! :)
Well I was sleeved on Tuesday and I must say it has not been too bad. The hospital did a great job of controlling pain. I just mostly slept while at the hospital except when I was walking. I was home Wednesday by 1pm. Still pretty tired so I took it easy. Working on my fluids. Ate a small portion of Greek yogurt this morning. Added a little protein powder in it and took tiny bites. Showered this morning to so overall I think everything is going good.

New here! Any low BMIers?
Hi! I am low BMI'er. When I first went to my surgeon I was 33.1 BMI. My surgery date is this Tuesday, April 16. After 10 days of the pre-op diet, my BMI this morning is 30.6. I am having the surgery because I have tried many different ways to lose weight and it has only gone up over the years. Now that I am menopausal, I don't think I could bring it back down any other way. I am fortunate that I do not have many obesity-related health problems (only reflux) yet, but I am having the surgery to ensure that I don't develop them. My family is chock full of heart disease, so I know being obese is not a smart place to be with my genetics. I was pretty nervous about the upcoming surgery last week - wondering if this was the right thing to do - but I have become surprisingly calm this weekend. I seem to be ready for this new phase of my life.

It's Happening! :)
Best of luck to you. My surgery is set for April 16. I agree taht the liquid diet has not been quite as bad as I thought it would be. My baby sister was sleeved in January - she did not have much trouble after the surgery and has been doing great! She's an inspiration to me.

Surgery set for April 16
Yes - I mix it with skim milk. I also like the strawberry sorbet mixed with Crystal Lite pink lemonade.

Bundle of nerves. April 18 is my day.
My surgery is scheduled for April 16 and I am feeling exactly the same way. The Pre-op diet has not been as hard as I thought it would be - so far - but when I think of all liquids for another week and 1/2 before surgery - it seems impossible. That is my biggest challenge now.
