Hello, I am now 41 days out from surgery I am on solid foods. I get so sleepy sometimes when I eat. Does anyone else that type of effect after eating. I am also quickly realize your brain has to catch up with your new pouch lol. I made myself a salad I thought I was only eating little but you literally can't eat no more than if you cup your hand and fill it sometimes not even that much. I called myself making me a Protein snack pack unsalted nuts cheese sticks unprocessed meats... I am allergic to nuts and I have never been allergic to anything in my life.

I had VSG surgery on 12th November 2013 at Nuffield hospital, Brentwood. Mr Koak carried out my op with a size 28 bougie. I had the greatest care and no pain or nausea at all. My highest weight was 275 and I'm now 179. I know I could have lost more during the honeymoon period, but I stupidly snacked and boozed. I'm back on track now and although it's harder to lose the weight, it is very possible. I'd like to lose a further 20 pounds. I took out a bank loan for the surgery as the NHS would have paid for a bypass, but I didn't fancy that and I wanted the surgery quickly. This is the best thing I've ever done for myself.

Well day 4 is here and it is true, for me at least. Each day I have seen improvement. Yesterday I really struggled to get the liquids in. Didn't make the 46 oz mark. Today I am doing much better I am halfway there. Just sipping on some broth. The key is to keep moving, walking breathing etc. I have stairs which are great to go up and down. Really helps with gas pains. NO REGRETS at all. Just following the drill to a T. The Hospital staff was great and my Doctor was fantastic couldn't be happier.

September 11, 2002 I had gastric bypass. It was the best decision I ever made. I weighed 300 pounds and wore 26/28 size pants and 3x shirts. It took me a little over a year to lose 165 pounds. I've have been successful keeping it off but it is a daily struggle. I continue to watch my weight and exercise. I've only had excess skin removed from my thighs. No other skin surgeries. Hi everyone. I had surgery on May 4th and don't regret it at all. The last few days I've been really struggling on this liquid diet. I'm actually excited to be getting closer to purees. I'm burning out on broths, jello and popsicles. I visited my cardiologist today and I am down to 232 from 248 (day of surgery). I actually managed to lose 20 pounds prior to surgery. If anyone has any recipe's for purees or just words of encouragement please post. Thank you all in advance.

Because I would have been high risk pregnancy, my pcp wrote the referral right there. So 3 months later I had my surgery and in the 1st 18 months I had lost 155 lbs! We then started trying to get pregnant. Turns out it was a simple hormone thing and after 2 rounds of IUI with injections I got pregnant at exactly 2 years out with TWINS! .. 12. HW: 293 SW: 275 CW: 253 Surgery date: 4/14/16 Four weeks out from surgery yesterday and I'm 40 lbs down in total. I went into a two week scale stall from week 2 to week 4, then dropped 8 lbs in the past few days. I go back to work tomorrow and realized I don't really have anything to wear (my pants are falling off). I went from a tight size 22 jeans (probably close to a 24) to buying a pair of 18s today. Huzzah!! I'm tolerating just about everything but pork loin and eggs. Still avoiding simple carbs with a personal commitment to stay under 50g daily (but am usually around 30g). I have always been a bigger girl and struggled to lose weight. The process through the bariatric clinic was just over a year after completing all the appointment. I had surgery on 05/03/2016 making it 2 days post op. I had gastric bypass and hiatus hernia repair. Everything went well and there were no complications. I am going home today 05/05/2016! I also have tarsal collation in my right foot which due to the extra weight causes my foot to swell, and is extremely painful. My last nutrition visit was April 15th, and my paper work was submitted the same day. I got the call May 21st, that I had been approved. I started my pre-op diet on April 26th, weighing in at 220. When I was younger, I was particularly close to her. Then, I moved across country and hadn't traveled home to see her in a few years. She was 103 years old, so I am not truly surprised, especially since she had had two recent heart attacks that resulted in her being placed in a nursing home. She hated being there, and I feel her spirits were crushed. food has always been my coping mechanism. Feel happy. Get a treat. Feel sad. Get a pick-me-up. How often do you weigh yourself? Last I was weighed was at my post op on the 29th (was down 23 pounds-11 pre op 12 post op). I'm exactly two weeks and one day out (surgery was the 24th). I did not buy a scale because I did not want to become obsessed with weighing myself. What has been your scale logic? Do you find it better to weigh yourself constantly or not?
