Surgery date: 4/14/16
Four weeks out from surgery yesterday and I'm 40 lbs down in total. I went into a two week scale stall from week 2 to week 4, then dropped 8 lbs in the past few days.
I go back to work tomorrow and realized I don't really have anything to wear (my pants are falling off). I went from a tight size 22 jeans (probably close to a 24) to buying a pair of 18s today. Huzzah!!
I'm tolerating just about everything but pork loin and eggs. Still avoiding simple carbs with a personal commitment to stay under 50g daily (but am usually around 30g). Consuming 600-700 calories daily.
Doing really well with my Proteins and hitting my goal of 65g daily. I try to sneak in a bite of veggies at lunch or dinner as well, and crave them like crazy. I've tried cantaloupe, blueberries, and apples (with cheddar spread, nom!). Tolerating soft nuts like cashews well.
My favorite post-op food so far is sashimi. It goes down so good, can be spiced up, and just makes my mouth and sleeve so happy. It's the one thing I've had zero problems with. Salmon and tuna are my favorites so far whether on nigiri (I don't eat the rice) or tataki. I also enjoy a nice Thai chicken with veggies with peanut sauce.
Fluids are still a struggle since I have problems tolerating Water, but I've found Karma. It's a Vitamin drink sweetened with stevia. I mix it with two parts water, one part Karma and it goes down really well. Fairlife milk is also a staple, and I drink it on nights when I'm having trouble getting in Protein and fluids.
I've been pretty active, getting in 10-12k steps per day. I go back to my normal routine tomorrow with work, so I'll need to switch things up just a bit to continue my good walking progress. Yesterday I took a 5k hike in and out of a ravine (intense hills!) with my boyfriend and it was a blast!
Really happy with my sleeve and my progress. Excited to see where this journey will take me!
