I had a 2 night hospital stay. The day of surgery I was up walking around the two days I was in the hospital I had an IV getting lots of fluids. The first two days after surgery everything tasted sweet. The Water tasted sweet I was allowed ice chips which helped. Meal trays came around which consisted of Jell-O,a Syntrax Protein shake and some chicken broth all of which tasted extremely sweet to me I may have been able to get a few ounces down but not much and those ounces made me completely nauseous. As the days go by I'm getting stronger and stronger and I can hold down more ounces every day.
My experience with pain has been pretty good I haven't had the need to take any pain medications. I do have a tinge of pain when I stand up sit down cough or sneeze on the left. I called my bariatric coordinator and was told this is a very common pain which can last 1-2 months long. I develop thrush which is basically a yeast infection on your tounge which makes it white and the texture of it became more abrasive also common.I find getting water down is hard, the taste is not appealing right now. I found a solution which is the aloe concentrate from Herbalife. Aloe heals the tummy and promotes absorption.
