Hi I haven’t posted in a while I had a suite in July 2015 and have experienced severe acid reflux. Now I am up for a bypass. For those who have had sleeves and had this problem and had the surgery of bypass. Have you guys lost more weight?. Did the acid reflex go away? How much weight can I expect to lose? Is it going to be as painful as the first surgery?

This is new to me. I'm 5 weeks out. Yesterday I ate a few bites of raw coconut. It didnt have an immediate affect so I thought it was fine. An hour later I had 5, yes five wheat thins. And one ounce of chicken. About an hour later I was down and out. I thought I may be going through 'dumping'. Nope for the next 7 hours I vomited the foamys, thought my chest was going to explode, had pain in my back right below the shoulder blades and couldn't lay down. I tried small sips of water, an antacid, and a pain pill . I finally vomited what looked like the coconut but it was dark in color-- tmi? Sorry. I was really starting to worry. Just now after 8 hours can I almost lay …

Anyhow...I had the laundry list of issues (stricture, bleeding ulcer, anemia, lost 90 lbs in 3 months (not 6 as told), 175 in 7 months. I am now down 250 lbs and find myself anorexic. I have either puked up, gotten stuck on or burned out on...everything.... I have spent hours and hours in the grocery store trying to find anything that sounds...'okay'. I am afraid of food. So recently I’ve decided that I wanted to do the revision from lapband to gastric bypass. The lapband definitely failed and I’m sick of the yo-yoing up and down and dieting and failing over and over again. I have a lot of people that are really supportive, but I’ve also been getting a lot of criticism. Mostly from my personal trainer. I still am trying to eat healthier and workout, but I still want the surgery as well. You can’t just stop eating healthy and working out just because you’re getting the surgery. But my trainer is determined to change my mind. He’s telling me I don’t need it, and that I should just give him a year and things will change. But I still feel that…

I need help, I do so great during the week, when I can control what I take to work and what we make for dinner. The weekends, however, kill me. I need to find control regarding this issue before surgery. My family likes to stay going, we go constantly on the weekends. With that being said, we eat out mainly just on weekends. I have a family of two girls, 2 and 9, and a husband who does not need to lose weight. It's not always fast food either, sometimes it could be at the mall or a sit down restaurant. I haven’t done anything different, I just rode it out. However, I have to say I was scared that I might be done with the weight loss, and I was getting depressed. Hi there. Surgery did not go well. Surgeon found large mass in my bowel area and could not finish the surgery so he stitched me back up and said to come back after I heal from this in 4-6 weeks. Pathology on the mass just reads as fatty tissue. Guess that’s my silver lining. This has been the worst experience. Not my first surgery so I pretty much know how care and hospitals work and this hospital not so good. So my plan is to move forward from this and try to stay positive. I still feel the surgery is a good route for me. However I have so many commitments ahead of me for the summer that the timing won’t work and now I’ll have to wait until the fall. Very disheartening…

I was bypassed on 4/3 and have enjoyed not feeling hungry. However, I woke up his morning hungry which has progressed throughout the day. It’s not time to have another shake or broth yet, I’ve been drinking water and had a sugar free popsicle - but still so hungry!! I have definitely “gulped” water a few times - is it possible my pouch has stretched out already?? I also have only lost about a pound in the last 2 or so days. I’m a worrier and really really freaked out this surgery won’t work for me.

I’ve been walking my dog increasingly and I’m at about 2 miles with him. That brings me to today, it’s a beautiful 85 degree day in Virginia and I’m camping with friends. We decided (more like they decided) that a 2-mile hike would be fun so off we went. By the time we got back to the site I was dizzy, no water was going down and I was extremely nauseous. Now I’m sitting in the car cooling off but I still can’t seem to get any fluids down (I’ve tried warm water, cold water, Gatorade) and everything makes me nauseous. What can I do? Any adv…

  26. Hi everyone, I have what may be an unusual situation in that I am not "settled" in my life. Because of illness and disability I am temporarily living in a small town (less than 200 people) in the middle of nowhere. Once I lose weight and get some orthopedic surgery, I am going to move. Here's my dilemma. I have started a program (two nutritionist visits) in one clinic that is 60 miles west. Very good reputation. There is also a clinic about 50 miles east, also with a good reputation. In my imagined (hoped for) future, I will be living in the town that is 50 miles east, which places me 110 miles away from my doctors if there is a complication in the coming…

Hi new friends ! I’m one week and one day post RNY and have to order a bridesmaids dress for a wedding I’m in end of September. I need to order the dress now and have no idea what size to get so hoping to get thoughts from people post op how quickly they shed size? My stats - I’m just under 5’10” and pre surgery wore around a 22/24. My start weight before the preop diet was 335, 319 or so at surgery and per the scale just now, 304. (Anxious for those 4 in the 3’s needless to say!) Does anyone have any recommendations of what sizes I should order? I can tailor something to make it smaller but am terrified of not fitting into the dress!! How mortifying !

I joined LA Fitness today and I went on the elliptical machine for 15 minutes. First time in a gym in four years and it felt good just to join and go. Tomorrow, I will aim for another 15 minutes but on the bicycle to use different muscles and do something non-weight bearing. I am thinking that the gym will be kind of like AA. All I need is the desire to get activity and to just keep coming back. Simple enough, right?

Hello all! I had my RNY surgery in July 2014. I lost 98 pounds and managed to keep around 92-95 of it off as of Sept 2015. However, this past Feb/Mar, I have gained 15 pounds. Yes, I’m naturally eating more than I did immediately post-op, but nowhere near my overeating habits of my pre-op life. My question is: have any of you had this happen? Any idea what the cause(s) could be? Any idea of a plan to either shrink my pouch (has it stretched too much!??) or restart my body or something? I will try ANYthing!! I am absolutely TERRIFIED that my body is just going to start putting the weight back on again and I am a panicked WRECK. I can’t even sleep I’m so upset. And, yes, I …

It's amazing how much this surgery changes you. I used to hate seafood of any kind. Today I discovered that I now like tuna fish. It goes down real smooth and doesn't lay like a rock. Plus, it's considered a high quality protein at 15g per serving. I'm also enjoying getting my protein through sources other than shakes. It's amazing that tuna almost tastes like a real flaky chicken. It's honestly easier to eat the canned tuna than the canned chicken. I even added a little light mayo. I'm excited to see what other foods that I did not used to like but like now. I discovered I no longer like pepperoni ... that was a surprise to me. Sent from my Z981 using BariatricPal mobil…

I don't know what was worse, the magnesium citrate I had to down the day before surgery or trying to get in and out of bed a few hours after surgery. The doctors and nursing staff at Bay Area Hospital were so incredibly nice and supportive. I haven't needed any pain meds after my release from the hospital and I just had my follow up doctor's appointment this morning and he told me he was surprised to hear that. Three month ago, I decided to radically change my life and started on this weight loss journey. What i realized is that even more important to the 52 lbs and 33 inches I have lost is all that I have gained. I gained health. I am no longer an insulin dependent diabetic. In fact, I’m not a diabetic at all. I have a normal blood pressure without any pills, my cholesterol is “stellar “ according to my doctor who was ready to put my on meds for that too. I no longer need anti anxiety meds or sleeping meds. I gained energy. Lots of it. I used to come home after work and sit staring at the tv all night until 8, when Elijah would go to bed, so I could too. I gained confidence…
