It seems like the further i get into my journey which its (3yrs) in. It seems like every discussion/ argument ends up with (oh now that u lost weight). Ugh I'm so tiered of hearing the same old record. I chose to loose weight because of health problems and to feel better. I mean and of course what women does not want to look good and sexy with it all. I really don't comprehend what is happening in his head. But im done with this relationship and this situation. I seen a lot of stories on youtube about how they had partners that did not agree with their decision and caused them to divorce, and i always told myself i was not going to go through same situation and Here i am!…

I am having a good bit of success and it's really early, I had GBP on January 10, 2018. SW 222, CW 199 GW 155ish. I am type 2 diabetic and have stopped taking metformin so thats a blessing. However my weigh stalled all of February. Today I'm starting a strict low carb diet to try to make the scale move again. Just a bit disappointed because I had the notion I'd never have to diet again to lose weight after the surgery. I could be jumping the gun as they say but its such a tease to be right at the door of Onederland only to teeter back and forth from 198, 199, 200 all month long. I must take action now!

  9. The entire process leading up to what is going to happen on March 12th has showed me all of the resentment and anger that I've harbored towards the world. There is nothing like confronting a major change to life to make me realize just how human I really am. I am only alive but for the complex chemical processes that happen underneath a frighteningly thin layer of protection. I now know just how fragile and human I am and I really don't want to spend the rest of my life the way I've lived my 40 years until now. I've lived life with a chip on my shoulder and generally expecting to fight for every yard that I needed to gain. No more ... it just is not worth it. No matter ho…

Hello, I'm Thom, first post here. I'm not usually one to share, but I need some advice here. I had the VSG on 12/1, and everything had been going well till today. So let me give a little back story. I broke my back two years ago, had several spinal surgeries including a 3 level fusion with hardware. I gained 70 lbs while hurt. I'm not able to be very active, so I chose to have the sleeve to loose weight. I went from $115k+ a year to the state max on workers comp, which put a big strain on us financially. In October, comp cut my checks till I have a hearing in front of the industrial commission to determine my life long compensation amount. So we've bee…

***its a long one sorry*** I am about 6 weeks out (RNY 1/8/18) and I have been nauseous for weeks!! My post-op diet instructions are to eat 3 meals a day: 2-consisting of up to 4oz of protein only and 1-consisting of up to 4oz of protein and 1/2c of non-starchy veggies. I just started adding veggies at 4weeks. Not to mention my water, vitamins and potassium. The nausea started about 3 weeks ago and I was given zofran which didn’t help. I would eat a few bites of whatever protein I was having and have to stop eating because I thought I would vomit. The Dr. did a swallow study and decided I needed an endoscopy for a better look. I did some research turns out my insurance covers the procedure however I have a deductible of 2900 and a max out of pocket of 6500. Can everyone share your experiences with the hospital what were you required to pay day of surgery? Was it your full deductible? I asked my surgeon office but no one is really giving me a straight answer and I would like know what to plan for as I am 6 to 8 months out from having surgery. Hello I had gastric bypass in 2012. Have regretted it ever since. At first I was confused cause they said I wouldn't be as hungry. I was starving and having stomach pains from hunger. I lost 80pds. I didn't even get to enjoy the feeling of stepping on a scale and smiling or fitting into smaller clothes with excitement. The feeling I waited for for so long never happen but maybe a smile when people told me how good I looked. Inside, I was falling apart. Before the surgery, the team of people at weight loss center knew I had panic attacks and depression. Very bad. I was on zoloft and ativan. Day one of the 2 week pre-op OptiFast diet is off to a bang start. Since my BMI is between 40 and 44, I get to have 4 shakes, 1 soup, and 1 bar for the next 11 days. Then the final 3 days 1 shake gets added and no bars. I woke up already not feeling that great so it remains to be seen how the rest of the day will go. I decided to also reinstall LoseIt on my phone. There is no time like the present to get back to tracking.

  23. Hi - I'm about a week from being 6 months post RNY and I feel great. I have lost over 100 pounds and my surgeon tells me I will lose about another 40-50 before May 2018. Meanwhile, I was just diagnosed with breast cancer and start chemo/HER2+ treatment on Monday. Has anyone had chemo in the year following gastric bypass? I still cannot tolerate more firm foods like chicken and I felt a very full/hurting stomach if I eat some foods, even a few bites. (I don't eat pasta, rice, beef, firm fruit, etc.) I'm wondering if your meal choices were affected during chemo. Both my oncologist and my gastric bypass surgeon said to keep up the 80-100 grams of protein daily if I can, bu…

  24. I'm scheduled for gastric bypass on May 2nd. I've been a giant my entire life. Literally. I was even a big ass baby at three weeks premature. Now, I am over six feet tall and almost 400 pounds. I'm not going to lie, I'm nervous as hell about doing this but my worry is not for myself. My partner, her son, my parents, my family all need me. I am living for them. I'm getting surgery so that I can continue to live for them. I keep being told that I need to do all these things for myself or in the end it won't work. I passed a bad habit a few years ago for my partner because it distressed her. Now, does the reasoning matter? The bad habit is gone and I rarely even think about …

My husband and I came to the local store just to get a few items, and I suddenly felt hungry, along w/ some lightheadedness, a bit of a weird cold sweat and tiredness (is the random dizziness normal?). My stomach growled, and my airhead brain forgot to pack some pudding or something else in case I got hungry. So feeling kind of shitty, I desperately made it to the yogurt isle and grabbed one of those Oiko yogurts (first time having dairy since surgery. I was told to have some non fat yogurt at this phase, so I thought this would be ok). I thought it seemed safe for me to take according to the nutrition facts. It …

Hi y'all. I have a problemo. My post-op instructions for Stage 1 Full Liquids sets an hourly limit on how much liquid we are supposed to consume: 8fl oz/hour max. I am doing so well with swallowing and can accommodate big swallows! It's easy to take 1/2oz swallow! So my 8oz goes in very quickly--then I have to wait until the next hour. I'm not doing too well, splitting that into 15 minutes intervals! I'm usually done in 20-30 minutes with the full 8oz. Can I hurt my new RNY pouch by drinking too much fluid? I don't have a sense of fullness, unless it's a slightly thicker liquid. Do you think at Day 6, I still need to limit to 8fl oz/hour? How much are you d…

I had 3 Nissen Fundopication operations with Mr. Peter Nottle. They all failed. The last one big time. I therefore ended up with no option but the RNY. I was 76.6 kgs before surgery and 62.2 kgs now.. I still have my good days and bad days. Hi Just curious what folks are doing for caloric intake in this post op range? I was told by my NUT that the longer I can stay off carbs the better since you can’t go back easily once you do. Has anyone else experienced a change in their sleep habits after surgery? Before surgery I needed 8 hours of sleep every night. I would go to bed at 8:30pm and get up at 4:30am so I could be at work at 5:30am everyday. My body was so used to these hours that even on weekends I would get up around 4:30am. I currently only need 6 hours of sleep. I now go to bed at 9pm and have to force myself to stay in bed until 3am. I don't feel tired, I am still full of energy and I don't take naps. I do find myself feeling very tired around 9pm and when I go to bed I fall right to sleep. I don't feel I am depriving my self of sleep, I actually feel great all day long.

Sitting, standing it’s just uncomfortable. Eating yogurt and other super soft foods is ok but if I attempt anything remotely solid it feels like it gets stuck. I have a doc appointment in two weeks but didn’t know if I should get in sooner? Anyone else experience this?
