Pre op diet

Surgery is 3/5/18. I’m following the 2 week pre op protein diet to the letter. Instead of losing weight I’m gaining. Feeling discouraged that I will not lose the weight I should. Hopefully someone else has had this issue and can offer some encouragement.

I weigh at work using the same scale every time. First thing in the morning. Im tracking on Baritastic. I would have had only 1 protein shake by the time I weigh myself.

Are you tracking? How and when are you weighing yourself? Some scales just aren't accurate I find.
Also it could just be all the liquids going in. They can make you heavier when you weigh yourself.

What are you eating, what type of Protein Shakes?

How much sodium are you getting? Could just be water retention?

I suspect water retention, too. I remember gaining 13 lbs of excess water in the past... was all the sodium from Lean Cuisine Meals. Hang in there, don’t get discouraged!
