I'm 2 weeks post op, and feel like crap. I've been feeling like crap for 2-3 days, now. I've been consuming protein, so I don't think that's the problem, here. I haven't had anything I'm not supposed to- I just don't know what to do. Could it be that I haven't taken my vitamins? I ordered the multivitamin patch, and I've been waiting for it to be delivered. I literally have just been so drained & nauseated.. I can't even drink Powerade zero- I can only tolerate water now. [emoji30]

Hi everyone, My question today is on compression garments that I have seen people reference. (Where I am at is that I have completed 24 wks of classes, and have appt with surgeon, psych, internist on 05/06) Are compression garments similar to spanx? Are they recommended during weight loss for the aesthetic appearance of no loose skin? I would like to get something to keep my stomach area in, but am not having tons of luck sifting through the information on the internet.

Hi all! I'm on day four post-op, and I think I'm doing pretty well. My goals at this point are 64 oz of liquid and 50-70 g of Protein each day. I am eating small amounts at a time, multiple times a day. So, for example, today I had about 4 oz of Oikos Triple zero yogurt for Breakfast. I just finished 4 oz of premier Protein shake for lunch. I plan to have some high protein Jello after a few hours. Maybe a cup of broth with Protein powder, and 4 more oz of shake. That should put me at about 55 G protein for the day. Does that sound reasonable at this stage? Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

  5. I've been looking for a change from the regular vanilla/chocolate flavor of Protein shakes and came upon a "bodacious berry" flavor of Vega powder at Target today. It's not whey isolate, though. Craving something more natural without all the artificial sweeteners and this seems to fit that. Is this a bad choice 1-week post-op and/or has anyone had this brand of shake? Thoughts? TIA!

My story, I had the sleeve in July 2014 at 300 pounds, got down to 210 by July of the following year but have been stuck there since. Gain & lose the same 5 pounds no matter what I do. Have tried increasing/decreasing calories, switching up exercising, 5 day pouch reset - you name it I've tried it but I'm stuck and frustrated. It seems like my body decided 210 was the weight it wants to stay at. I never had the big weight loss from the sleeve like I expected. When people were dropping big weight in the beginning months, my was coming off at a snails pace. I also never felt like I had the tight restriction most people spoke about. When we started eggs, most were…

This. Is. Kicking. My. Butt! It's only been day 1 of three. How many calories should I be aiming for? I know the purpose is to shrink my liver, I know that is done by restricting calories and carbs. I think I'm right around 750 calories total. I'm tired, famished, and have a terrible headache. This being said I won't deviate from it. I'm very motivated to get this done, and the discomfort/effort is totally worth it. Also any helpful hints, beverages, etc you found helpful? Hi all, For those that have experienced dumping, have you noticed what is your limit regarding sugar, carb, fat amount in the food that makes you dump? I know it's going to be different for each person but trying to understand this more. For example you know you will dump of you will have more than 3 g of sugar on something... What made you dump before? Thank you!

  15. Now that I'm six weeks post op bypass, I've been given the go-ahead to progress onto different foods at my own pace. I'm CRAVING salads and raw veggies, but scared to death to try them! How some people look at cakes and pastries with food envy is how I feel about a simple tossed salad or a stalk of celery! NUT said to move from soft, cooked to a little crunch to raw as tolerated. What were your experiences? I realize there are some I won't be able to tolerate, but bring on your stories!

I couldn't eat a thing the last week so my Gastro wanted to do an endoscope yesterday and found an ulcer. Hi everyone, I am 51 and struggling a little bit. I started at 270# on surgery date and am down to 220# today. My surgery was on 2/16/15 and I had RNY. I've had no complications and exercise 2-3 times a week. I get my protein and water in every day but my weight loss has been slow all along but extremely slow the last month - I've lost 6 lbs since May 20th. THATS IT! I am getting about 1000-1100 calories a day. Is the 4 month mark a common time for a serious plateau? how long does it typically last? I want to loose another 60-70 pounds but I am worried that I wont. Thanks for all your advice, reassurance and help!

  31. Hi Friends: the whole subject/decision of what is a good goal weight is so difficult when the patient trying to ascertain it has suffered from body dis-morphia to the extent that morbidly obese people do. Only now that I'm down near a goal weight I see that my original thoughts were a product of having been obese for so long that my judgement was totally skewed. My high was 305 lbs (at 6' 1") and so I thought that anything under 220 would be fine; of course that would be a BMI of 29. So when I got there I saw I still had an almost 40" waist, so I set a new "goal weight" of 205 lbs. Well I got there a few weeks ago and whaddya know.... I realized that it wasn't…

So I was in the timeline section and was reading that at least a good handful of the men have had issues with losing to much weight. As a women I know it is harder for us to lose weight with or without the surgery. Our bodies just work differently. Are there any veteran band to bypassers that have had that problem? Both my husband and I are nervous I will lose to much with the bypass. Everything i have read has stated that bypass is more for extreme weight loss but with the band I lost over 100lbs and really only have about 60lbs more to lose but I know I can't just go without any help. I've been in the process of qualifying to get the sleeve since last summer. I got insurance approval three weeks ago, and had an Upper GI last week. My doc called today to let me know that he doesn't think I'm a good candidate for the sleeve since he detected GERD on my Upper GI results. I had heartburn the night before the procedure, which is weird, because I've only had heartburn 3 or 4 times in my entire life and I'm almost 40. My doc said he will go ahead with gastric bypass. The problem: I feel disappointed because I've spent months preparing for the sleeve. I have to go back and get reapproved through insurance and take new education courses. I had tentatively pla…

My surgery is scheduled for this Tuesday--laparoscopic gastric bypass. My surgeons office told me that, if all things go well, they generally release from hospital on Friday. My son has a soccer tournament on Saturday. It is about an hour away and will last for 6-7 hours. There is some walking from field to field, but it is mostly just sitting. I've told my son and husband that I don't plan on going...but I'm wondering if it might be possible. Opinions? It's not a huge deal if I miss it, but if I can go, of course I would like to. 50. I'm about 2 weeks since my rny and over the last couple days I've started being more active and have started getting slightly dizzy after I bend over and raise back up or stand up to fast . And today I was bent over dumping out a bag of potting soil and after I stood back up got dizzy to the point of having to grab onto something . I do a pretty good job of getting my fluids in usually 50 + Oz everyday . Protein not so much it's still hard to stomach the shakes so I'm only getting about 25g a day protein . Could it be lack of protein or a BP issue BP has been all over the place since surgery.
