Should I Eat More?
You should be trying to get all 1200 calories in. Just because we had weightloss surgery doesn't mean we should be starving our body of fuel. especialy if you are working out. medically its a concern about your body starting to shut down and hold onto everything it can get. On days that I run I up my calories to take in 1200 even with the work out deficet. As your body builds muscle from your working out you will start seeing more weight loss. Also make sure you are drinking enough water. I think as a community we get so caught up in eating as little possible we forget what our body really needs to run properly, especally for those of us who areworking out all the time post-op.

Bad Luck No Exersize =(
well i hope your knee isn't to bad off. As for pulling yourself up into the saddle, you have taken a step in the right direction with this surgery. Don't let who you were get in the way of who you are becoming. if you have to use the step stool for now to get up there its just one more goal to meet in the long run. Keep your head up hun

This Is Making Me Crazy
since you are working out now, you are going to start gaining muscle. muscle weighs more then fat so as you lose the fat and start gaining the muscle you will see your weightloss slow even though the inches are comming off. I am at this point now. The muscle you are building will start helping with weight loss since muscle tissue burns more calories. I do hide the scale for about a month at a time. I keep a close eye on what I am eating and make sure I stick to my workout schedual. It is far less frustrating that way. Also Water is key, I know the average we are told is 6-8 glasses a day but it really does very on weight and height. I drink about 4 liters a day. here is a link to a good calculator to find out how much you should be drinking. It could help restart your weight loss. http://nutrition.about.com/library/blwatercalculator.htm If you want to see a down fall on the scale also try veriing your calorie intake a little here and there. calculate how many calories you should be having in a week and one day maybe eat 1000 and another day eat 1400. just concentrate on the week as a whole. good luck

NSV on the scale!!
today I had a great moment....I had an NSV on the scale. How is that possible? Our digital scale didn't weight anything over a certain weight. I hopped on it just for poops and giggles and it worked! There was no error message to make me feel like crap today and there will never be that day again. I havent been able to weight myself on our home scale in 3 years. Not only did I have that amazing NSV I was also down 3 more pounds. Such a great day!!

In and Out of Bed
for getting out of bed i had my husbands help for the first couple of days, but I didn't go into a laying down position when he wasn't home. I have a body pillow that works miracles. I doube it over and prop it under my lower back, and on about day four I could get out of bed on my own. Wasn't pretty and it still felt crappy but I was able to do it by myself. relax while you can, but it does get better.

Can you feel your band?
At times when I get really hungry I think I can feel my band. This morning I had that sensation. I was laying on my right side with my left arm out on my left side and I brought my arms together kinda compressing my rib cage and I felt like I could feel the band compressing my stomach. It was a really weird sensation. I don't know how to describe it because it didn't hurt. Does anyone else ever feel there band?

Grazing
I get up at 5am and don't get to bed most of the time until 10pm or later. I was told 3 small meals a day and no grazing, but I get hungry so I have a planned snack twice a day. Anyone who is farther along in your weight loss, do you do this or stick strictley to your 3 meals a day and how do you feel it has effected your weight loss?

Pain in left side
Hi all I am about a week pot-op and I have had an almost constant stitch on my left side. Other than that I am healing great. A little nausea here and there but nothing major. I was wondering if anyone else had ever had this issue after surgery and what it might possibly be. It is starting to affect my everyday activities. I have a follow up with my surgeon on thursday. thanks

So Hungry It Hurts!!!!
Hi all, I had my surgery for my band on wed. the 8th. I was following doctors instructions on eating. only liquid and 2-3 protein shakes a day to keep my energy up no water 15mins prior and an hour after but I am starving. I woke up on friday morning at home from being extremely hungry .today I decided to try mushies with my fingers crossed and they went down (bananas and strawberries with yogurt) if it wasnt for the cpnstant stitch in my side I would have eaten more. I have been walking as much as my body is allowing as well. I am just hungry all the time. I am consuming about how many calories that I was on my pre-op diet between 1000 and 1200 a day. no matter what I eat though I am just so hungry. did anyone else have this problem right after surgery? I kept reading how after surgery you have this great restriction for a short while but I think that only lasted till I got out of the hospital. I dont want to stress my band by eating things that are to hard but I am just so hungry. any insite would be great! thanks in advance.
