slight discomfort when drinking

I'm 12 days post op r-n-y . and I'm still having some discomfort drinking fluids. I'm on phase 2 diet and handle eating well I don't have any problems with soup or string cheese anything like that just when I drink and it's not painful feeling just kind of more like uncomfortable and then it quickly goes away until I drink again

Most liquids, even water, gave me a little discomfort in the beginning too. For probably about 5 months, it was just something I had to deal with. I found that changing the temps of some of the liquids (like room temp water as opposed to cold) sometimes helped. Drinking tea was a lot easier than drinking room temp water. Unfortunately, it's sort of normal to have this from what I've seen. But not at 8 months out, I feel much better and that issues is pretty much gone. It's very rare that I have that pain when drinking anymore. Hope this helps!

I too have some discomfort drinking! It is getting better with time just as Cervidae says above. I'm almost 3 months out now. At first I was only getting about 8 to 12 oz. in. Not good. But now I get about 48 to 60. Still not where I need to be but I'll get there! Hang in there, it gets better! :)
