I'm down 40 pounds. Still having pain in my right side- especially when I have to bend over. I'm nervous about going back to work next week with this pain. I transport patients within two hospitals,& I also perform ekgs. I'm not sure how bending and pushing, pulling, etc is going to work for me. [emoji30]

I'm nearly 3 weeks post op and look at food and think "mmmm yummmmm", I then eat a few mouth fulls and find I didn't enjoy it and soon after (sometimes) feel a bit sick. I eat slowly, and mush all my food up as per the stage I'm at etc. How many months post op did you start enjoying the taste and texture of food, and the feel of it in your tummy again?

I'm at 3 months post-op today and unfortunately my appetite came back in the last few weeks, mainly wanting sweet things which I indulge with icecicles 15 calories, but luckily I keep losing weight. Today, my weigh in day, I was POSITIVE(once again,, like the last three weeks)that I had either stayed the same or gained but once again I was the same old TWO pounds down - it's been like clockwork. So it's psychological, because I'm up to a "whopping" 1500 calories occasionally, but still more often around 1300, and so I think "Oh God, now I'll gain weight...!!" Not stopping to realize that for a large man who walks regularly, eating anything less than 2000 calor…

I'm so frustrated with my body! It just doesn't want to lose weight. I went to a biggest loser resort in December where I was in a controlled environment in the middle of nowhere eating what they gave me and working out 6 hours a day and did not lose. So now I am on a month long optifast plan and am supposed to lose 14 pounds. If I don't they will cancel the surgery. It was TOM when first weighed in so I was carrying a lot of water weight. That first week i lost 7 pounds due to loss of the water. The next week I lost 2. So I am down 9 pounds and have 5 more to go in 2 weeks. That doesn't seem like a lot but my TOM is coming back. I haven't lost anything this week accordin…

I was surprised by the comment by my NUT made this week, that whey Isolate Protein is not good in that it does not supply the body with the full protein value on the label (Only gives 12 grams when say 30 grams), and so she want to see all Proteins B4 we use to approve it. I have used it for years and been told by others that Whey Isolate is a good quality protein and best utilized by the body. I also have a lot of it, in different flavors on hand, with high protein, low to no carbs. Anyone have any info on this, or do I really have a lot of protein that is not great to use?

Hi all! I'm 3 days post op and slowly recovering. I don't have much pain, it's very well controlled with Tylenol, but this headache- it's killing me. I'm doing okay with fluids, and Protein. I'm also so tired I know that's normal. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Hi! My roux en y was 4/4. I've done well overall; I do tend to dump pretty easily, though. My Vitamins...ugh! Does anyone take these in pill form? I've only had chewable. I've tried a few different ones, but they all nauseate me and I end up throwing up. The actual thought of them right now made me dry heave. I wish I was kidding. This is surprising to me because I'm usually a suck-it-up kind of gal. Ideas? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

My revision is getting closer and closer! I have an upper GI tomorrow, psych eval today and they got my sleep study results back and I don't have any issues. I've been going to the support groups for the hospital as needed and whenever someone finds out I'm a revision from band they always assume that I hated my band. I don't think ppl understand how much I loved my band, it gave me a whole new life. I'm actually scared of getting the bypass Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

So I had my mini gastric bypass surgery on April 30th. Due to some complications I had to stay the the 3 nights following in ICU and the 4th night at the hospital's normal room and was discharged yesterday. For 4 days I had absolutely no oral intake what so ever. Yesterday and the day before I was already starting to feel really much better and had no symptoms at all (which now I think was due to the heavy medications) in fact I was feeling really hungry in the last two days. The dietician pass by me early yesterday and said I can start on Clear liquids (Water, apple juice, Jello and clear broth) and should stick to that for 3 days. Following that I should move into heavy…

Hello. I'm new here. I'm going from band to bypass. Band removal is scheduled for April 25th. I have to wait 3 months and then revision to gastric bypass. I'm looking forward to this. The band has slipped and GERD is really bad now. My highest weight was 340. My lowest weight was 280 before additional diabetes medications caused some weight gain. I've been lurking on the forums for awhile and just wanted to say Hi.

I just my mini gastric bypass 4 days ago. I am self paid and had to travel to a near by country to get it done since at my home country it's only offered for BMI 40+. Initially I had discussed gastric sleeve with my surgeon and had already read so much on gastric sleeve and was just mentally prepared for it. I have a BMI of 33 (pre-op BMI) weight 77kg and height 153cm. I also have PCOS and insulin resistance. I have 1 child who needs BMT and that has to come from a matched sibling donor. So not only that I want to have another child I need another child to save my child. After many failed IVF cycles I decided to take a drastic measure and go for Bariatric surgery to help…

So as I get closer to completing all of my testing for revision from lap and to gbp the reality of life after GBP is starting to settle in ... Right now I have had 7 yrs of barely eating.. Never feeling hungry ... Etc ( not that I ever went down to goal ). The last 8 months I have been eating a yogurt around 10 am ... lunch at about 2 and then Soup of some sort or soft food in the evening ( and gaining weight ) .... With GBP I've been told you have to eat 3 small meals high Protein , veggies ... But isn't there anyone else out there concerned , nervous etc about gaining weight and having this fail ?? I completed the last phases so I can be submitted for insurance approval. It was a long day, but I learned a lot today. 1) I will be off all diabetes medications 2 weeks before surgery. I will need to check my blood sugars on a regular basis. 2) I will be sent home with Lovenox injections for 7 days. I'm afraid of needles, but everything I look at says it's not that bad. 3) I'm looking forward to this. The idea of getting off or reducing my medications just makes me happy. I'll keep everyone posted on when I get approved. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

Hiya bariatric babes I need workout advice... I'm less than 2 months out from RNY GBP, and I've been feeling pretty good and doing moderate workouts for several weeks now, including tennis and some moderate stuff like jog/walking, planks, squats, etc... I just got the courage to go back to Crossfit tonight but I have no idea how to get enough juice for a tough workout like that! I about died! Lol! With tennis I just make sure to have a Powerade Zero and that usually has been keeping my energy up and me hydrated, but with more intense workouts, I am at a loss! I can't "chug" anything prior, having food in my stomach never turns out well during a workout, and I can't …

So today was my surgery date. I checked in, was admitted, had my IV in and lab work done. Waited 2 hours, anesthesiologist comes in give info, etc. BOOM. Surgeons PA comes in and informs me my surgery is cancelled. First blow. The reason, I have tested positive for being pregnant. Second blow. The reason I say second blow is because I am married to a woman!! There is no way what so ever I am pregnant. They wouldn't even redraw my blood or anything. Now I have to wait to see my OBGYN and get clearance. Came home and have taken 4 pregnancy test all are negative!!! I really feel like there was a mix up in the lab. I am so upset. Especially having to start the pre-op over. I…

Ok I'm a complete failure and don't know what to do or what my options are. In 2013 I had the sleeve I lost 80 plus pounds but I stopped losing and I had more I needed to lose. So in 2015 I went in and had my sleeve revised to the gastric bypass. I only lost twenty pounds in a year. I'm so frustrated so I kinda gave up and went back to my bad habits. I weighed and I'm starting to gain my weight back I'm scared and don't want to gain it back so I did the 5 day pouch test and it didn't do anything. I don't get sick with anything and no longer have any restriction. I am hoping that there is something I can do. Any ideas or suggestions I would really appreciate it.

I am pre op (revision from band to bypass) currently on liquid diet.....Found out there is huge family get together/special event at the end of the month in another state and I won't be able to go because I will be recovering after surgery... Someone suggested I move the surgery, but I have worked so hard to get everything done by this date, have everything set up and planned and if I move it I would have to wait another few months for the date then do all clearances again... I guess I feel guilty that I can go and be there for family and maybe also selfish that I am choosing to keep my surgery date and continue with my decision.... But knowing myself most i most likely…

Hey everyone, I've been really struggling for a couple of months now. I'm 11mos out and between 30-40 lbs to goal. Things in my life have been getting increasingly more stressful and last week I totally fell off the food wagon! I'm angry, frustrated, disappointed in myself, etc...etc... I've been falling back to old habits- sneaking food, binging and all I'm thinking about again. I feel like I can't stop! Everyone in my life that I told about this have just gotten mad at me and goes on and on about how I am screwing up and disgusting that I would let this happen. I need my mind back in the right place. I know what I need to do but how do I get back on that path in m…

Hi All, I am 6 weeks out now, and finally able,to tolerate more things. Down 38 pounds since the day of my surgery. I finally had a bit of reduced - fat cheese, or some no-sugar-added peaches. My surgeon told me about Isopure drinks, and thinks they would be a good idea for me. My problem is, it seems you can only buy them by the case, and I'm reading so many mixed reviews. I can't afford to spend $60+ on a drink and then hate it. Has anyone tried them? Some say that some flavors have a yucky aftertaste, too. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using the BariatricPal App

Plastic surgery is in my future but not my near-future. It's going to be summer soon and the thought of wearing tank tops give me the willies - my upper arms are hideous!!! I workout and do weight training but it's not helping the flappy skin that hangs under my arms. Has anyone found a product that works in tightening skin?? I can go out blind and start trying some but thought if anyone had had any luck with something, maybe you'd share and I could start my experiment there??
