I completed the last phases so I can be submitted for insurance approval.

It was a long day, but I learned a lot today.

1) I will be off all diabetes medications 2 weeks before surgery. I will need to check my blood sugars on a regular basis.

2) I will be sent home with Lovenox injections for 7 days. I'm afraid of needles, but everything I look at says it's not that bad.

3) I'm looking forward to this. The idea of getting off or reducing my medications just makes me happy.

I'll keep everyone posted on when I get approved.

I hated giving myself the Lovenox injections. But it was only for a few days. I had RNY gastric bypass surgery 3 years ago. Two days after surgery, I left the hospital with my diabetes in remission. It has remained there ever since. My high blood pressure also went into remission about 2 weeks after surgery. So that was 4 different medicines, I no longer needed. I also no longer have severe acid reflux (GERD) nor sleep apnea. It is interesting how quickly these conditions can be cured.

I'm glad to hear everything went into remission so quickly. Are you no longer using a CPAP for sleep apnea? I have one, but we don't really get along. The mask irritates my face.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
