Each day, starting from Thursday has just gotten worse and worse. Thursday my stomach decided it didn't like any kind of food and I was stuck back on liquids. Friday I felt a little better I could have food in the morning and had to be on liquids at night otherwise it all just came back up. Saturday I could not keep anything down liquid or food. I finally got home from work and was able to keep chamomile tea down. So Sunday was an entire day of chamomile tea hot or iced, until I got home from work. I then decided I needed to try to get some protein in my system, so I made a small cup of cream of mushroom soup. Probably not my smartest idea but there you go. I immediately…

  3. Trying to get 'a family loan' to pay for WLS as my insurance coverage is as bad as my credit! As a result; my dad is educating himself and has noted how many people on average only lose 60-75% on the excess weight, still report hunger, issues with slider foods, the need for exercise and the re-gaining of some of even that weight. His thought is that the majority of the loss from the Sleeve is the shock/recovery of the surgery (hence why most of the weight loss is in the first year) and then after that it is business as usual-but now with a missing stomach. He says if you have to take supplements, exercise, diet restrictions why have the surgery, just "do" that and if I …

I've gone through a really rough time past 6 months or so and I am up to 180. I want to get back down to my goal weight of 130. Does anyone have any tips? My email is mleec16@outlook.com. please email me if you have any advice or tips or just wanting to talk would bring my spirits up so much!

I am waiting to be cleared by NUT, then my doctor will set a date. I'm having a VBG to RnY revision. My doctor says it is going to be an open, no "if's, and's or but's". Anyone else have this revision or an open procedure? If so, what was your down time (Im a nurse and need to get back to work as soon as possible)? I would appreciate hearing yall's stories. My VBG was over 20 + years ago, and like childbirth, I have forgotten all the pain etc. Then again, it may be just that old age thing. ???? 55yo 5'5.5" Heaviest weight 320 lbs Currently down 22 lbs in 1 mo pre op supervised diet. Hi I am almost 6 weeks out from gastric bypass. I haven't loss any weight in over a week. Is this normal? I am having trouble eating and getting my Protein. The thought of eating is horrible and makes my stomach want to turn. I was not having this problem until recently. I can eat something today and tomorrow it will gross me out. The thought of eating meat is gross right now and turns my stomach. The only things that sound good are tomatoes, onions, and cucumbers. I don't know why. The only real protein I am getting in is with my coffee. I am using Motopia milk and getting the 12 grams of protein with my coffee. Other than that I am only getting one or two bites out of …

This may sound like a touching topic but I have always had a problem when it comes to dating. Don't get me wrong I have a daughter and I have had boyfriends in my past but no one really wanted to make a commitment. I take it because I have always been overweight. High school I never had a prom date, actually I have never been on a date with a guy just me and him. I feel that one of my friends I have had since Jr high and he has always been here but never wanted to commit. My child father I was with him for 13 years but there was a lot of infidelity.. Past the one year mark, and I've lost about 135 pounds (25 before prep and surgery). Holding the current loss is no problem - I even lose a pound every once in a while - but I'm ready to start again on a more calorie restricted diet. It's almost as if I've finally gotten over the joy of losing so much, getting new clothes, etc. and I've realized the importance of the next sixty pounds I need to lose. Any suggestions as I gear up to start? I do a lot of walking (5K-10K steps a day) and rarely eat out. No restrictions except I don't like seafood. Has anyone successfully done a second push and reached their goal? I appreciate the advice.

Hi All, just wondering if anyone is on the newer Ultra Multivitamin capsules from Bariatric Advantage. I am wondering what size they are. It says 3 capsules is the dosage, and they are supposed to be more potent. I am currently taking the "regular" multivitamin capsules, which they tote as smaller, non horsepills. I take 6 of those a day. I don't think I could handle a bigger pill to swallow, as I do have a slight stricture. Any input would be appreciated! Thanks! He sent it off for pathology but says not to worry because they don't think it's anything to worry about... Sipping fluids yesterday was awful because of nausea and pain but today I'm feeling better . Walking halls and showered . Trying to begin sipping better .

In Addition to cutting out the carbs and sugar and all that I'm attempting to go all organic, hormone free and all of that so the rest of the family is eating just as healthy. Instead of going to my typical chain grocery stores and reading Labels on every product are there stores that you prefer to shop in? While I know I still have to read labels im looking for a more health concious store where I'm sure to find more options. Trader joes? Whole foods? So I decided to create a local meetup group for people who are in the process of getting weightloss surgery and folks who have already gotten the surgery. If any of you are in the Maryland, Virginia or Washington D.C. area check out my meetup group: http://www.meetup.com/Bari-fabulous/. We are having our first meetup late May/Early June!

  25. Saw my surgeon on Monday and he feels that the decision to move forward with band revision to bypass is the best option for me . I am attending my first of 2 required support group meetings tonight and waiting to receive the list of names and numbers to set up the rest of appointments required by this specific bariatric program. I am hoping within 2- 2.5 months from now I can be ready for my new chapter. Can I please get some updates from people that have been revised and the first few months ... how did your life change ? pain , discomfort , new foods , tired , any thing to put this whole journey into a realistic perspective.

  27. Hi all! I'm simply putting this out there to see what YOUR experience has been- not for a thorough lambasting! Regarding carbonated beverages ( non-alcoholic)- on my NUT list it clearly states no carbonated beverages. I asked her about this. We have a very good report and she knows I'm ridiculously compliant. However, I have always been a Diet Coke fanatic. I asked her why it was forbidden. (Keep in mind I'm dealing with a HUGE top rated health care system, some of the best bariatrics in the states- so I really value their knowledge and opinion.) Her reply was this- MOST patients are not compliant. If you give them an inch, they take a foot. And then they get into …

Breakfast is worst, as I luv my coffee. taking Prilosec 20 30 minutes before breakfast. didn't work today,lightheaded/nausea. greek yogurt goes down ok and dry chicken soup mix. I am very sick of the Protein drinks but know that is a guaranteed protein.

I have lost 123 lbs! Yay! But I have been dealing with back pain for the last few months. It is not tied to anything internal. It is worst at the end of the day and in the evening. Wondering if it is tied to my loss of fat on my back, or the extra weight on the front of the skin of boobs or my stomach without the fat to support it?? Anyone struggle with this? Not sure there is a remedy! Advil is out obviously!

  35. I'm just starting my 3rd week post op, so I'm not eating out anywhere at this point. However, at some point when I'm eating regular food, I'm sure I will eat out again. What kinds of things do you eat when you eat out? Do you have any favorite meals or places or even strategies to share. My family and I don't eat out a ton, in general. We do some takeout meals, but sit down restaurant meals are once a month or less. I'm trying to think of "go-to" things to order from some of our typical take out places. Here is what I've brainstormed so far: Chinese: hot and sour Soup, maybe chicken teriyaki skewers. Pizza: ummm...maybe salad with chicken. Or pizza toppings…

I'm 14 months post surgery and I've noticed that I don't stay feeling full for very long anymore? Usually about and hour after I eat I feel hungry again? Also I can hold quite a bit of food down now? I'm worried about gaining? I have lost about 105 lbs. and have plateaued. I still need to lose 60 lbs. to reach my goal weight. I haven't lost anything for a couple months now? I just hate that I feel hungry so often? Usually I try and eat high protein foods because it's supposed to keep you feeling full longer but I still feel hungry again about an hour after eating? Anyone having and/or have the same problem?

So I'm currently still pre op w/ surgery tentitively in late June but I've noticed a few NSVs that I'm quite proud of! First of all I got on my scale at home and I was actually able to weigh myself before it would always say "error" or "ol" for over load... I know encouraging words right? Not! Lol my second NSV is that before when I got into my car my stomach touched /rubbed against the steering wheel I'm pretty short and have to sit kinda close to reach the brake haha. But now (I have not moved my seat) there's about 3 inched between me and the wheel! Again I'm still preop but I'm loving these results already and actually seeing a different is amazing! Well I am off on my adventure to get my act together to lose my regained weight. I really want to be healthy. I will be 52 in November and I think I can have the regain off by end of year if I am diligent and disciplined. At that point I will decide if I want to lose more or maintain. I quit smoking a month ago so I can breath when I start walking again. Ha ha. I have bought a couple of short sets, some new walking shoes, a new headphone (wireless Bluetooth) and a strap to hold my phone around my arm so I can really move. I have went all the way back to basics....protein first, shakes, water, etc. Keep me in your thoughts and prayers!
