I'm 7 weeks post op and every time I eat my stomach hurts. The food I prepare tastes great (following all Dr.s guidelines on what and how much to eat) its just a few minutes after the food reaches my stomach i experience pain. At this point I just avoid food as much as I can. I'm probably not getting enough protein but I just can't do it anymore. I don't enjoy any of the foods I used to love (the healthy ones). Has anyone experienced this and will it last forever?

I just posted "Soul Relationships Part 1" to WLS Magazine. Here is the teaser. Please take a read if this is of interest to you. I am finding this process fascinating. Our Soul is a part of the Divine, here to experience this life and its lessons. Our physical world reality exists for Spiritual growth. For this purpose, Soul Mates have made agreements while in the Spiritual form to find each other in the physical world. Be it to clear up karma, complete unfinished business, or accomplish a particular goal together, these relationships are destined.

Ok so i'm hopefully gearing up for my VS soon and I was wondering, do you have to take out all your piercings for surgery? I have both nipples done and i'm afraid that since they haven't been pierced that long, it will be a problem if I have to take them out.

Ok, I had my surgery August 12th 2014 so I am almost 6 months post op. I have lost about 85 lbs so far so that is great but it seems that around my period I crave things I shouldn't eat. The Sweet and the Salty. I do very well all of the rest of the month. Have any of you guys had this problem and how or what do you do to stay on track? The last few months have been pretty rough and my weight loss has slowed. I lost my mom the day before Thanksgiving and since she was in hospice the last few weeks before I got out of the habit of going to the gym as often. Guessing I could just use some encouragement. Thanks for looking at my post and thanks ahead of time for the help…

So I believe that the tipping scale to my weight from 150 to 220 in less than a year was due to depo provera. I took the birth control in my teens and stopped it in a year. Haven't been able to lose down in the 10 years since I gained it plus 30 lbs of my own doing. Since my husband and I aren't trying to have anymore kids right now and I don't take pills well (forget) I only have a few choices. My question is if you gained on something similar to depo provera or the thing in your arm, have you regained using the same birth control. I really want to prevent pregnancy for at least a year. Thanks!

I have been In this relationship for 15 years. Some of you know it's not going well.. I'm in therapy deciding if I want or even if I can stay. The man I dated in my teen years has always told me he wished we would of got married. He has only one time made a comment about weight. We have been texting. He is married now. I'm going to go have coffee with him. No big deal.. But I'm not saying who I'm having coffee with. ???????? it feels like a dirty little secret. I try to keep my side of the street clean. I know that my relationship is ending. But I don't want to be that person. I also don't want to use an action like that to give me courage to do the breakup.. That's not …

I was banded in 2010 and lost 105lbs. However, I started having extreme heartburn and vomiting and weight loss fluctuation (180-220 etc) After years of attempting to find my "sweet spot" by adding and removing fluid... Several upper GIs and not being able to hold more than 1cc in my band the doctor and I have decided to do the revision. I am currently scheduled for surgery on 2/5/15 and for some strange reason as of yet, I am not afraid, but I am excited. I have been feeling sick for so long I can't wait to start to feel better. I mean, yes, there is a possibility that I can wake up with just my band gone and no other WLS done due to scar tissue (that's the only thing I…

I had a gastric bypass surgery 12/1. While I was supposed to be in overnight I was in-house for three nights. So far, that was the worst of it! I'm going for my post-op follow up next week but couldn't wait to get on the scale! I'm down 14lbs. I still have some pain at the incision site and gas pain....anyone else have this experience? In addition, I also am having difficulty sleeping. Until a few nights ago, I was using a back cushion to sit up and sleep but obviously want to get back to some normal sleep positions....on-my-side. How have you adjusted to returning to your normal sleep position and how long did it take. Overall I am pleased with my surgery and…

So I have recently had a total hysterectomy due to Uterine cancer. I am only 34 and this is usually not a cancer found in those my age. I know there is a connection between obesity and uterine cancer and I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced this? It was about 18 months after surgery that I was diagnosed, and 250 lbs lighter. Just trying to find out if I'm the only one,

This week I almost did something really really stupid. 6 months ago I left my partner of 7 years and the father of my two children. He was verbally abusive to me our whole relationship. He used to tell me I was fat at 150 pounds. His nickname for me was buffolo and he told me things like I embarrassed him, I discussed him, I was lazy, incompetent, a gluttonous pig, just couldn't shut my mouth and didn't want to work hard at anything. While we were together I had two children, three pregnancies, started a successful business, made friends and made a life for myself. I tried so many times to lose weight only to fail and many times he would sabatoge me. I was supposed t…

Hello all. I just had surgery on the fifth of this month, so I'm still in the liquid stage of the diet (soon I can move on to soft foods! Yay!). I just started my period yesterday, and my cramps are unbearable. This has happened to me before, albeit not often, and the only thing that has ever helped has been Advil. Obviously I can't take that anymore, but the Tylenol I've been taking really hasn't helped at all. I'm wondering if anyone else has run across this problem, and if so (or even if not) if anyone has suggestions to help me ease this pain. Because it's 4:00AM and I can't sleep it's so bad

Last night my best friend of 36 years called to tell me she was just diagnosed with a very aggressive form of breast cancer. I felt like my heart was being ripped apart as I was so distraught for what she will have to go through! I know things have changed a lot with the big "C" and I have no doubt that she is not going to let this take her down, but I am just miserable for her. I an emotional "non-eater". When I get very upset or stressed, I just can't think about food- it makes me want to gag. I jokingly told her that she just made my pre-op diet a whole lot easier and she always knew just what I needed when I needed it. Now it's my turn to return the favor to her…

Well I was a week post op on Monday and got a rash under my boobs! I had the Nurse Practitioner document it and she gave me a prescription for powder Nystatin. The dreaded boob yeast rash!!! She said they have a great success rate with documenting and getting insurance to cover excess skin removal for breasts and tummys. She said they don't normally get insurance to cover arms, but if my bat wings bother me years down the road I will save up lol

I was banded a year ago and have done well, I am down to 152.6. The problem is that I am getting into the ice cream cycle again. I not too tight but my brain really likes it. I am trying to log my food again but am having a hard time exercising. I did well when I logged on here regularly and participated, so I'm back. Any words of wisdom or encouragement would be appreciated.

Hi! I'm going 1/20 for my pre screening appointment. I'm very excited to do this. I've been fighting this weight issue since I was 10. My BMI is right at 35 but I'm diabetic, fatty liver, high cholesterol, snoring/apnea so I'm covered by insurance but I've been told to make sure that my weight is still at least 240 by 1/20. I have not been eating well but am worried about the weighing in. Do they do it naked? I'm worried I won't be able to gain. When I try to lose I can't and I can't gain! Also, the biggest worry I have about this surgery (besides leaks) is unwanted attention after weight loss. I have issues with compliments and not sure how to mentally deal with that. I…

I've never been thin with long hair. I grew it out over the last few years. I'm in Onederland now, and unfortunately have thinned out hair due to surgery. I'm not happy with the way it's looking lately (gets stringy and droopy by end of the day) and I'm debating getting a blunt cut, maybe chin length. I'm having another very minor surgery (not WLS related) in January and I'm scared that the anesthesia will cause another round of hair loss. I'm wondering if shorter hair is more forgiving. Thoughts on a dramatic hair cut?

My bf got really excited when i told him my surgery date. He even joked about me leaving him for someone else... and mentioned how he can't wait to throw me all over the place in the bedroom lol. He's very happy. He wants to get bikes so we can ride together. Will this last? Will it get better or worse? I am excited and I hope my bf doesn't change and that i don't change as well. Jealousy is normal in any relationship. I hope he doesn't get jealous when i start going out and wearing nice clothes and gett attn from guys, etc. I've been with my bf for 5 years and I've gained 45 lbs during the time we've been dating. I hope to lose the wait and gain the confidence …

Hi I am new to this forum, I just got my surgery date (December 15th) and am wondering about a question my surgeon asked me. He wanted to know if I have any bladder leakage when sneezing, coughing, lifting things or walking. I do have this happen occasionally, but was really embarrassed to admit it. I am wondering if anyone knows why he asked this question?

I am 12 days post op and I have been doing pretty well with walking for at least 30 minutes a day. As I loose weight I would like to become more and more active. I have a treadmill which helps but I would like to get motivated walk more even start running. I would also like to start a strength training routine. Choosing the type of work out will be different for many because the goal is to workout and (as much as possible) have fun while doing it. I created this post so we can share with each other exactly what (we) you say to yourself or what you do the moment you are tempted to talk yourself out of working out. What motivates you to get up and do it despite of... I …

I have been at goal for nearly 2 years and am quite accustomed to my size/shape these days. I had the most trouble with face dismorphia - feeling like I look so old and weird post weight loss but I thought I had really gotten past it. I do feel like I could benefit from some injections, but hey, who wouldn't at age 50?!? So, Saturday night I went on an ugly sweater pub crawl with 2 girlfriends who are just a few years younger than me. We booked a hotel in town so we didn't have to drive and really had fun, dancing, talking to people - enjoying the ugly sweaters and holiday festitivites. Anyway, at the end of the evening, a gentleman who I guess to be in his 50s (b…

I had VSG June of 2013 and had amazing results. I still can't believe it. I lost 72 lbs in less than 6 months! I didn't waiver in my commitment to eating right, being physical, drinking fluids and so on. You know the drill. Then I went home to Thanksgiving and the attention from my family overwhelmed me. And unnerved me. And undid me. Here I am a year later, and have re-gained 24 lbs. and am so frustrated with myself. I just want to scream. I cannot seem to get myself wholly focused again. I have weeks of complete alignment of doing all the things I want and should do and then BAM! I get out of step and it all comes crashing back. I finally faced my surgeon and went …

Ok ladies. I have spent years of hiding from mirrors and cameras. Being obese I dressed in things to hide my body. I'm 7months out and 110 pounds down. I'm now struggling to find what looks good at my age. I'm in my 40's. I don't want to look like a woman desperately trying to be young. I have no clue what age appropriate is in 2015. I'm trying to keep it classy. Any good web sites for women my age?

I recall the days, when "ladies" wore girdles, I know, showing my age. But ever since Truvy (Dolly Parton) said "Well, these thighs haven't gone out of the house without lycra on them sice I was 14." I said to myself, Thank God those days are over! Now I find myself contimplating Spanx or spandex to support my ummm loosening skin. But I know what happens with ordinary 'control top' undergarments, that waistband rolls down. And with my gut, I have doubts. Are the new 'active wear' garments any better? What do you wear? recommend? Comments, suggestions please. thanks

I had surgery Oct 27. Extremely excited about my process. Dating a new man, down to size 22 (I have never been a size 22), happy. I'm losing some friends and that's fine. I've always been the type of girl that didn't put up with much bs when it came to jealousy and all that. I have a group of friends that we called ourselves the fat girls. Now that I've had surgery, and my other friend had the sleeve, we're both finding out how rude people are. I wish we had a support group around the Joplin, or Missouri area. Or friends who are going through the same thing. People to meet up for lunch, or a movie.

Okay, it is a weird consequence of being super morbidly obese, skin stretched, then plastic surgery to remove excess skin... that my pubic hair zone is larger than it should be. I ignored it for a long time. Recently, I started shaving to make a more "normal sized" pubic zone and I get the horrible bumps. so, I did a consult for laser hair removal. Turns out they will charge me the same price - i get to choose how much they remove. I know I want them to make the triangle smaller, clean up the edge on my upper thighs too. What I am undecided about is if I should go for making it quite small... landing strip. That is very popular right now, but i am not sure. What woul…

Ok, so it probably didn't. But I've had abnormal PAPs for the last 7 years. I get checked twice/year and it ranges from From atypical to high grade. I've had 4 LEEPS, 5 biopsies and a conization. I can't believe I even have a cervix left after all the bits and pieces that have been removed. Two years ago I finally said fuckit....unless it comes back high grade again or precancerous, I'm not having anymore procedures...obviously the aren't working. Well I just got my most resent PAP result and it was normal! My OB/Gyn emailed me herself she was so excited. I'm chalking it up to outstanding nutrition over the last 10 months since surgery. Very nice NSV!
