There are a lot of changes I have noticed about my body since I have become slimmer. Some of them have freaked me out, but most of them I have become comfortable with. Feeling and seeing my ribs and my hip bones is still weird, but it is becoming normalized. If you have thin friends these things are normal to them and they take them for granted, so it isn't something you have a lot of people you can discuss it with. This blog post hits on 5 differences. Hi ladies, my surgery is this week 12/15 and i just know im going to start my period either night before or day of [emoji849] ive had a few procedures and diff. Surgeries in the past 2 years and for every one of them my period came up to a week or 2 early on the day of procedure. I guess its some kind of stress response triggers hormone change ??♀️??♀️ also last month it was early and i got it exactly on nov. 15 so ive been dreading dealing with this huge life change, pain and healing in hospital with horrible period on the side. So my main question after probably too much info is will i be able to use tampons within hrs of postop or should i just resign myself to pads?…

So, I'm not sure who else to ask, I'm sexually active for the first time in four or so years. I'm down 168lbs. With that has come some fantastic loose skin on my arms, thighs, and "apron". The Issue I'm having is I have to "dig" past the extra skin when alone and help with my fella, he's a newish fella and we get along really well. I'm not quite a year out and do plan on having a tuck next summer, but will it help? I'm not sure how to talk about this issue because I don't know if the looseness there is now will tighten up. It feels like the skin on my lower half is all just hanging as low as gravity will let it including the parts covered in coarse hair. Has anyone els…

I thought that losing weight would help with the boils I get on my inner thighs. They were pretty bad at my heaviest and after losing forty pounds they lessened greatly. Then all of a sudden they are back with a vengeance. What makes them worse is that they are no longer up near or in the folds of my upper thigh, but lower down where they show from my bathing suit shorts. They hurt like heck, rub in pants, shorts and the like and are simply miserable. Anyone have any ideas for dealing with them? My wls stated that it could be taken care of "later after more weight loss" meaning surgery. But until then...

Went to the Er last night in horrible pain! I have pcos I knew it was a cyst or two. Well I have several on both sides pretty large. My surgeons office called today and was on me about it. Letting me know I need to clear this up before surgery. Ugh I thought I had jumped through all my hoops and here is another one.

For those whose period stopped as a consequence of being obese. I had high prolactin levels before surgery (i have to wait 3 more months to get that checked again) How long after surgery did it take to get back to normal? Im almost three months post op and i haven’t gotten my period since long before surgery, my gynecologist wasn’t worried back then and still isn’t, my endocrinologist says it could take up to 6 months for the body to normalize, and then one of the doctors of the team where i got surgery thinks i should have gotten it already. I’m confused and a bit scared i’m only 26 and i plan on having children in the future.

Do I have to say TMI in a ladies forum? If so...TMI! Just a little venting. I've lost 95 pounds so far which is 51% toward my goal so I still have a ways to go before plastics would be recommended/wanted. I was expecting saggy skin and wasnt too concerned about it right away because I knew it was just part of this life. What I wasn't expecting was having SO much extra skin on and around my genitals! Theres at least 3 inches of excess skin on EACH side of EACH interior and exterior folds. That's 12 inches of extra skin around my vagina! Then there is literally a full hand-full of extra skin in the front pubic region. My bum around this area is saggy as well which is c…

I highly doubt that my husband (who had gastric bypass last year) worried or even thought ahead to what clothes he was taking to the hospital to wear home. So I thought I would post this here, because ladies may care a little more about that comfort! What did you, or what will you, bring with you to the hospital to wear home? I'm still a month away from surgery and my mind goes everywhere right now, and this is where it has landed for the moment. Ha! I want something comfortable, that won't bother the incisions, that I can wear around the house in those first few days.

I’ve been using an app to track periods for the past few months. Everything was on track until this month when I started a week early. It’s been super heavy and this is gross but throwing huge clots. I’m trying to figure out if this is related to weight loss? I’m currently at the three month mark since surgery. Prior to surgery I had an iud which fell out during preop phase and I didn’t bother to get another one or go on the pill. Not sexually active, I’m on a self imposed hiatus lol. Anyone else experiencing heavy flow out of whack with your normal schedule? Trying to decide if I need to contact my gynie, my last pap was normal in July of this year. Thanks in advance f…

Do you all experience a stall during pms and/or your period? I had my first period exactly a month after my surgery but still lost weight. It’s now been 8 weeks since my surgery and, starting with my PMS, for a week and a half I neither gained nor lost weight until after my period was over. Before WLS this was a problem and I remember having the same issue when I did Weight Watchers with weekly weigh-ins. I tracked using MFP during this time and there wasn’t a huge change of food intake, although I ate a few crackers every day to deal with hormone-related nausea. I didn’t see an increase in calories. I worked out except for the four days of my period. I’m los…

I'm 7 weeks out from surgery and will have my second period since the surgery next week. I've noticed I'm very nauseous to the point that I only can eat broth and crackers. Can anyone relate to this? Are my PMS hormones going crazy now that I'm losing weight? For the record, I've ways had a regular cycle and PMS. I've just never had nausea this bad before. I really hope things even out in the future so I don't feel sick.

Some people don't know what PCOS is, but it occurs a lot in overweight women. It is the number one reason for infertility. It is a set of symptoms due to elevated androgens (male hormones) in women. Symptoms: - Irregular periods - Heavy periods - Painful periods (usually excruciating pain that can occur in the lower abdomen, lower back, and down the legs) - Excess body hair (usually above the upper lip and chin) - Acne - Patches of thick, dark skin (usually on the back of the neck) - Infertility (hard time getting pregnant) My symptoms are: Irregular periods (sometimes I skip a month, and sometimes I can bleed for up to 2 weeks), heavy periods (the heaviness usually o…

Hey all, I'm 31, always struggled with a heavy period until I placed an IUD in about 2 yrs ago. My periods immediately stopped! At most I'd spot when I was on my lady time, which I honestly loved But yesterday, bam. Period. For the first time in 2 yrs. It caught me totally off guard. I know my doctor had said rapid weight loss led to high fertility, but I have my IUD so I wasn't worried Now I'm confused. Are the changes in my flow related to the surgery? Should I be worried about the placement of my IUD? And if I'm really so fertile, should I be worried about getting pregnant even with the IUD?

HI ladies, I'm just checking in....my period is driving me crazy. It started July 31, then I got my IUD on August 1. Period ended about 7th. Started very light spotting around the 20th. Got heavier with darker flow, and I thought it was about over when I had my surgery on Aug 25. It got lighter again, and just when I thought it was gone, it was back, like it had never happened. It's been going on ever since. I don't know when this will ever end!!! If this is TMI, I'm sorry. I'm going to my post-op appt tomorrow and will ask my surgeon if he knows what's going on.

I was on the bus home the other day and when we passed the high school I saw that they had a sign for Bay Path University. I've been wanting to go back to school and get my Bachelors (I have my Associate Degree) so I looked it up. They have a campus at the high school for their "One Day A Week" college. I talked to one of the Admission's peeps today and I filled out the online application. I even completed the financial aid paperwork, but I know I won't qualify. Luckily my work will reimburse me up to $6,000 a year for classes (as long as I get a "C" or better). The school even has a "deferred payment" program knowing that most jobs won't pay until after you get your…

I've had the paragard IUD for a little over 2 years, I haven't had any problems with it this whole time. My first period after surgery was about a week after getting sleeved and it was like it has as always been, nothing out of the ordinary and after my cycle was over I checked my strings before me and hubby did it and I noticed I could feel the bottom part of my IUD coming out of my cervix [emoji30]. Has anyone had any problems like this or am I one of the unlucky few? Do you think it could be from rapid weight loss and the hormones or maybe from surgery with them blowing up the abdomen with gas? I don't know but anyways I'm getting it taken out tomorrow and having anoth…

I'm a week out today! I haven't eaten solids in 9 days. I feel like the world is going on without me. My entire old life is null and void at this point. I'm off work for a month due to healing and my lovely new liquids only diet. All my friends work. My unemployed roommate/bf goes on the same as always, eating everything in sight, and acting like it's no big deal. I feel like I can't go out with friends because I don't fit in their social life anymore. I can't go out for a bite, because I can't eat. I can't go shopping because I'm shrinking --it's a good thing. I'm not ready to walk miles like I used to. I feel so alone. NO one here understands. I don't know what I thoug…

So, prior to my WLS, I struggled with infertility, I have PCOS, So, the doctor said it could be easier to get pregnant, but even skinny people with PCOS have problems. Well, 7 months after surgery, down about 75 lbs from my high weight, I go to the minute clinic for a lingering upper respiratory infection, and have the Duh Moment that I'm two weeks late... Well turns out I was pregnant, I freaked out, they said wait a minimum of 12 months... Oops, well, I was told quickly that I was going to miscarry, that I had a blighted ovum. (So, I'm preparing myself for my 3rd miscarriage), Well, my blighted ovum isn't a blighted ovum. I'm now about 9 weeks along, and baby is going g…

How do they compare to Spanx? Why would you purchase Slimpressions over Spanx or other shapewear available in Walmart? Any feedback or information you can share with me would be greatly appreciated!

I was taking prescription strength Ibuprofen for the first 2-3 days along with non-traditional remedies. Tylenol just doesn't cut it for me. Tramadol makes me sick. What has been your experience? My confidence is way up since losing about 80 lbs, but I still feel like a deer in headlights in front of a camera. I've been avoiding them for so long I have no idea how to look good in photos! I guess this means I am not photogenic, but there must be something I can do to get a flattering photo of myself. I have only one picture taken with my 6 year old, and none with my toddler. I would really like to take some pictures with them. Any tips? TIA!

So, I am nine weeks pregnant with our 2nd baby. I had my first before surgery. I am now a little over 2 years post-op. I have been below my goal weight for over a year. Before I got pregnant I was running 5 to 10 miles 4 days a week, zumba one day a week, and weight lifting 2 days a week. I had some spotting at 7 weeks and my doctor banned me from running at least until 2nd trimester. I also cannot lift heavy weights. I literally ran a half marathon at my best pace every 4 days before I found out I was pregnant. I have been walking and using light weights, but it is so hard for me to "rest". I have not gained any weight yet but my NUT wants me to gain at least …

Hello! I am new to this site. I just weaned my second and last child and really need to lose weight. I want to have energy for my kids and be healthy and around for a long time for them (two boys, ages 3 and 1). I am contemplating my options and am strongly considering gastric sleeve. My BMI is 35, but I have chronic hypertension and had gestational diabetes during both pregnancies so my risk for Type 2 is very high. My husband had the gastric sleeve procedure done nearly 2 years ago and he looks great and feels even better. He has tons of energy and said his only regret is that he didn’t do it sooner. He said he went through a mourning period knowing that he coul…

And ordered these Vera Bradley pajamas during a recent clearance sale. I didn't even have a surgery date, but putchased them in the largest size available, hoping they'd fit come this fall/winter. They arrived in the mail today. I also got my surgery date today: 5/22!!!!! These are a size 12/14 and I'm currently in a 22/24. Hoping I can wear them by Christmas Eve, at my family's annual brunch (we all wear pajamas as a tradition). I have 7 months to make that happen! Silly, vanity post. Read at your own risk. I've always had a dream that I could have mermaid hair. I'm not referring to the multi-colors that have become trendy over the last couple years. I'm referring to the length and waves. Here is an example of what I mean by mermaid hair: http://kristinaludwig.com/ludwig/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/Mermaid-mermaids-15836666-1024-768.jpg My hair is already to my boobs, so I'm good there. It is naturally wavy and thick. However, I need it to be just a little bit wavier to achieve my vision of mermaid hair. I read a post previously where someone's hair grew back very curly after the loss, whereas it was straight before. My…

Hi! I absolutely adore the Lane Bryant T3 straight leg, bootcut, and flair jeans that they carry. I wear those jeans from sizes 22, currently in a 16, and bought on sale over the Black Friday sales the 14s, but once I am out of those sizes (yay!), what brand is comparable? I love the tummy support, stretch, and softness of the T3 line of jeans. Has anyone found a brand/cut that is comparable to point me towards? I don't do skinny jeans -- way too much cellulite to ever look good in them, but the LB T3 straights fit me like a skinny jeans, without sucking me in like a sausage. Thanks!

So I have coworker who is quite lovely, but since she lost a lot of weight she sometimes forgets to wear pants to work. Today was one of those days, and it occurred to me while we were engaging in a fan vs. space heater battle that she has no idea where or how to shop for her new body...and that I probably won't either! I've been shopping in plus size stores or online as far back as I can remember and don't even know what's out there. If you've gotten out of the "plus" world, what are your favorite stores? If you haven't, is there someplace in particular that you're itching to be able to shop at?

Ok, This is my first post and of course it's a great question.. Has anyone experienced dryness before/during sex? I have NEVER had this issue before surgery. I had a full gyn work-up 2 month before surgery, so I know I am all good. I have lost 38 lbs in 4 weeks. I am feeling great. My sex drive is back to pre-weight gain status, lol. I am just having some lubricating issues. I am having a tough time 'getting warmed up' and staying that way. I have used lube in the past (after a very amorous few days, I needed it. My fiancee' and I are very 'active') I feel excited, but my nether regions are not reacting as they did pre-surgery. I am hoping someone else has some insight…

Okay so after having maybe 2 light periods a year for the last 7 years thanks to the weight gain and PCOS, I have had a period the last 3 months. First month was pretty 'normal', last month was SUPER heavy, and this month has been pretty heavy as well. I've noticed last month and this month that I'm very, VERY drained and tired, and very spacey. I feel very out of it, and like I'm a walking zombie. My blood tests have all been normal since surgery (the last were done 5 months ago, though, so I ordered new ones). I'm fearing that I'm now experiencing iron-deficiency anemia due to these heavy periods. While yes I'm going to speak with my doctor about it and have the blood t…
