  14. Thank you! That gives me so much hope! I've been so discouraged and sad about the whole situation. How long did it take you before you got stabilized and started losing again?
  15. Anyone here have a thyroidectomy after surgery? I had my VSG in 2/2024 and had a total thyroid ectomy in October 2014 due to cancer. Wondering how you are doing with weight loss or weight maintenance?
  16. Hi everyone- it's been so long since I participated in the boards, I don't even know where to begin to catch up. I was sleeved in February and was doing pretty good until about July when I hit stall after stall. From July to sept I lost only 7lbs even though i still have plenty of weight to lose and I've been stuck since September at the same weight. I won't ramble on- I haven't been around because in September I found out I have thyroid cancer which had started spreading to the muscle in my neck. Had surgery October 17th to remove thyroid and some of the muscle in my neck that the cancer was touching. It's been a tough road, very difficult to function. Energy is very hard to come by... I exercise when I can, but most days just getting out of bed and making it to work is my only victory. I've been pretty depressed trying to deal with this, I hope it's not the "new me", hopefully it will just take some time to get my medication levels right. I was so close to 100lbs down until my surgery..then I gained 5. While I know 95lbs down is great, I almost feel like i didn't get to fully use my tool of VSG in my first year, you know? I'm sorry to be negative, I am trying to think more positive. Anyway, I just thought even though I haven't lost weight and I'm nowhere near my goal, that I should come back on here for encouragement and to see anyone else is dealing with my issues. So I stopped by one of my favorite topics to say hi.

  19. I totally understand you! I'm down 91lbs, at 197, stuck there for 2 months now. I've been dealing with some stressful situations at work and family situations and to add to it, I just found out on Wednesday that I have a large tumor in my thyroid and it's possibly cancer. I've skipped meals, ate bad meals, munched on candy...I'm way off track. I haven't gained, but like you said I'm not losing and I know I could be. I'm just having a hard time balancing my life right now. I'm gonna go back this week and read my gastric sleeve book from the hospital about what I should be eating and maybe it will help me get back on track. I'm Traveling all week for work and then hopefully I will get test results back by Friday.
  20. I'm doing a 5k walk/run at the philadelphia zoo on Saturday 9/13/14 if any of you would like to meet up and do the walk together!
  21. Anyone in the NE Philly/ outer suburbs interested in meeting up for a 5k and maybe some lunch this fall (can't believe it's almost fall!!)
  22. My insurance no longer covers any weight loss surgery either. I just went to Mexico this february I have my surgery done. Best decision I ever made!
  23. Fellow Philly sleever! Originally from NE Philly, now I live in Abington.
  24. So I hit 6 months out today and officially got I to onderland! I'm down just about 90ls since surgery. Question: around how many calories are you guys eating now?

  28. Great job! My starting weight is close to yours, surgery date was 2/17/14. I'm stuck at 202 I feel like I will never get to 150 lol good to know it can be done
  29. For ready to drink, I love premier protein. Perfect for grab and go. If I have time to blend a smoothie/protein shake I love Unjury. I tried the isopure ready to drink as they are terrible! Don't buy too much before your surgery, because I was warned about this and I didn't listen. Your taste might change afterwards...I didn't like all the stuff I stocked up on before surgery....I'm almost 6 months out and still have a bunch of protein stuff I don't like!
  30. My date was 2/17, surgery weight was 258, I stalled at 207 for a month now I'm stuck at 202 for 3 weeks so far. I just put away the scale and I am focusing on my protein and exercise!
