Thyroidectomy after VSG

Anyone here have a thyroidectomy after surgery? I had my VSG in 2/2024 and had a total thyroid ectomy in October 2014 due to cancer. Wondering how you are doing with weight loss or weight maintenance?

I had a total thyroidectomy 4 yrs ago due to cancer...which put my WLS on hold. I lost 54 lbs in the past 6 months on my own. I just got the gastric sleeve 4 days ago. My endo's philosophy is if you can lose weight before, you can lose weight after...just a matter of adjusting meds and balancing lifestyle changes. Also there is a patient in my support group who got the sleeve first, then total thyroidectomy and still lost over a 100 lbs. her advice was to stick with the plan and it will work.

I had a thyroidectomy nearly 2 years ago and am just had my lap band out on 4/26/17. My sleeve surgery is now scheduled for 8/30 and I am finally encouraged that even after having no thyroid, I will be successful.
