I'm jealous - I went to Abington for the pre-work up stuff and found out my insurance doesn't cover "anything related to obesity"...they actually have an exclusion clause for it! SO ridiculous! Needless to say, I would have to pay for it by myself. I relaly wanted to go to ABington because I just moved to Glenside, but it costs $14,000-17,000 out of pocket there No way I could ever afford that. So I've been saving my money, and I will be going to Mexico to have the surgery and it's$6500 out of pocket. Quite a difference! But I will be going to Abington for all my follow up appointments and such. Best of luck, can't wait to hear about your progress!
October 23, 201312 yr Im in Philly. I had surgery on Oct 14 and was discharged the next afternoon. Im doing well and my checkup is on Friday. I had my surgery ar Hahnemann hospital through the Hahnemann center for sugical weight loss. They are a terrific group of doctors and staff.
