  4. I've heard Nivea Q10 is supposed to help, I haven't tried it yet but I plan to
  5. Does the unflavored protein really not have a taste? I'm also a texture-phobe and I find that protein drinks have a weird texture. I need to kick-start my protein again, it's just hard because I cant find any that I like
  6. it's normal i think - you have a ton of water weight from the iv's you've been hooked up to. i remember being weighed before surgery then weighing myself when i got home and i was really upset. your body is going to be pretty swollen a little while after surgery so it's going to take a little bit of time for that to come off, and when it does, you will start to see the numbers getting lower and lower. also, not to be too gross, but once you start having regular bowel movements that will help too. i know i drop a little bit of weight after i go lol
  7. and you will notice your feet too! so weird, these things you don't really think about until things are loose!!

  9. i'm two months out, that was one of the hardest things to get used to - you still want foods, you just can't have them. the thing that helps me is that i have what i can and i don't have room for anything else. food network was calling my name when i got home from the hospital and it didn't help at all that i gave in and was glued to it. something that helped me was to look at recipes i could have a few weeks down the road - healthier options to foods that i liked. just keeping up on the liquids should help curb the cravings a bit - good luck!!

  23. Sitting here watching a movie with my puppy on my lap and I can't tell if its my stomach or my puppys stomach making noises lol. Have a great Sunday everyone!
  24. i'm a week out and getting fluids in is still a challenge, but i just had my post-op appointment and my doc said that even sugar free popsicles and jello count as liquid. the pain will get better, i was taking my pain meds for 4-5 days after surgery until i felt that i didn't need it anymore. also, my doctor prescribed zofran, the tablets that dissolve under the tongue, for nausea and that seemed to help with the nausea too. i only really felt nauseous after drinking too much. depending on the pain meds you are on, they should help with the headache too. good luck, i hope the pain goes away soon for you!

  26. thanks everyone, such great advice as always!!
  27. so happy that i'm finally posting in the post-op section question for everyone - some people at work know that i had this surgery but most don't. i don't necessarily want to tell people that i had the surgery as i know opinions will differ but i know some people will ask where i was the past two weeks. has anyone else been in a similar situation? what did you tell co-workers?
  28. my doctor was pretty strict and said no gummies. i have reverted back to childhood and have been taking flinstone complete and all is well so far
