Hello everyone I would like to know if yall felt bloated or lots of cramps days after surgery? Also everytime I take a sip of fluid it burns. Is this normal

Has anybody else experienced this. Every time I take a sip of liquid my stomach hurts? Is this normal?

Ladies, What kind of undies do you bring to surgery with you? Do you wear them during the surgery itself? I don't know how I feel being so exposed if not....lol What about socks? Thanks so much!!

I tried searching but did not see anything on here for this question - I sincerely apologize if I'm repeating!! I have an incision that's just about ON my bra line. As a result, I have not yet worn a bra post-surgery...but I'm only on day 6 and have managed to stay at home/backyard where no one would see my girls bouncing around freely. As much as I'd love to be someone who's comfortable just letting them "fly free" in public, I know that it'd make me feel really self-conscious and would make it hard for me to go out anywhere. Yesterday, my poor husband and I went to a bunch of different stores in an attempt to find a bathing suit for me. We are going to Tennessee with my parents, my aunt, and my sister's whole family (husband and 4 kids) at the end of March. There's a hot tub at the cabin we're sharing and I wanted to be able to use it! But that meant finding a bathing suit that wouldn't strike terror into the hearts of the young children that will be present. Hello ladies. I am seven days postop with the Sleeve. I have had and IUD for 8 months and thankfully became of the IUD I do have periods. However 6 days postop I started to spot. Could this be related to the sergery? Had anyone experienced this? BEST, Amanda

Sorry if this is gross/TMI/wrong forum. I've been maintaining for the past year and I've been getting a LOT of ingrown hairs "down there", where before I didn't... my partner thinks it's from loose skin causing friction or something like that. Which I guess makes sense because my stomach skin hangs down around where it happens. Has anyone else dealt with this post weight loss? A few of them have repeatedly gotten infected/started bleeding and idk what to do about it. It's gross and it looks bad and it's painful. Can loose skin cause this? Is there anything I can do to prevent it (other than the standard prevention/treatment...)?

Like seriously! Pre surgery I was an avid blood donor. Now I'm constantly on the verge of needing a transfusion. I take around 90mg iron. I cant take birth control because of liver problems. I was thinking uterine ablation or something to help lighten it. Any advice?

today i had my annual physical with my PCP and when she reviewed my medication list she was surprised that I was back on birth control already (i’m one month post op) because she said she’s used to waiting 3 months before starting it back up due the risk of blood clots. But i’m unsure what to do, because a) my surgeon gave me the OK to start BC again after one month and b) i’m sexually active and i would prefer to be on it. and as much as i like my pcp i feel as though i should listen to my surgeon as it’s her specialty. what would you guys do? should i ask my surgeon what she thinks or just continue with it? I won’t see my PCP again for another 3 months, if that matters

So what's a non-scale victory for you? I guess at 10 weeks out I'm still new with my sleeve, but I could FINALLY wear my bra without my bra extenders! I don't think that's happened in 8 years! I can also wear my engagement ring!

A little background: my husband and I have been married since May 2014 and together since October 2009. My sex drive has always been less than normal. I was admitted to the hospital with large blood clots in my lungs in September 2016 due to birth control (which I no longer can take). So I debated posting about this.. but I was in such awe over this, and I think only my fellow female WLS peeps can appreciate this. (And i'm grown, married, blah, blah, blah...). Hubby and I were having some special time. Off he went to "lady town" (Grey's Anatomy fans should get that). And I realized... I can *see him*. My stomach was not blocking my view of him. For the slightest second it seemed awkward cause, I've just never had that full view before. It was a serious, momentary, mind trip! So...NSV qualified, or too risque?

Anyone have severe reflux preoperatively? I am scheduled for RNY in October. Currently on Prilosec 40mg twice daily and take Zantac mid day 150. Wake up choking on reflux 5/7 nights per week even with head of bed elevated 45 degrees. Wondering if RNY will give me some relief? Or allow me to get off these meds?

My surgery was November 2017 (VSG) and I've had issues with breakthrough bleeding on my usual pill, and still despite changing pills about 3 months ago. My provider thinks it could be an absorption issue, which I don't know if I necessarily agree with considering I had VSG and not bypass, but anyways... Has anyone gone to the Nexplanon (arm) birth control after surgery? Thoughts on it? Hi everyone, I got sleeved on June 7, 2018, and the past few days I have been having these really weird and very real dreams. They're preventing me from getting a full night sleep. So, right after surgery my period came early. Now my period is like 2 weeks late. I have literally NEVER missed my period since getting it at the age of 12 (as much as I'd wish it would) My period is more reliable than any of the previous men in my life! Now... nothing. Hi all. I was sleeved July 10th. Now down to 213 from 248. I am a single mom of three teenage boys. I’d like to think someday I’ll be able to get into the dating arena again. Anyone here who had this problem, did you get through it or did you end up seperating. I never thought hubby was sexually aroused by the fatness, since I am the onyl fat woman he has ever been with. All his ex girlfriends were skinny, like really skinny even. I've had a few weird moments with him during sex but nothing obvious. My libido was alright until a few months ago when I started taking Zoloft and Zyprexa to treat my depression and schizophrenia. I’m 9 months out from my sleeve gastrectomy and 80 lbs down (20 from my goal.) I’ve had midcycle bleeding for the last seven days, which is quite abnormal for me. Pregnancy is not a factor and my cycles have always been regular. I’m waiting to get in to see my doctor, but I was wondering if any of you have experience with this kind of problem? I know midcycle bleeds can be associated with hormonal imbalances, which can come as a result of rapid weight loss.

Obviously for most of us, when we loose weight we change the way we dress. Different sizes and different cuts, not to mention different choices all have an impact. But what I'm curious about - is how has losing weight impacted your sense of style and fashion? When I was 335 and a size 24, I gravitated towards wide leg pants, fit and flare dresses (always in winter with opaque tights) because it was a favorable profile for my waist-to-hip ratio. I know this has brought up before, but I'm doing again. I had my surgery on April 17, 2018. Maybe 4 days later I started my period, I'm on the pill and was only half way through my pack. So I’m nearly a year post op, I’m 55 years old still having my period. I started having excruciating pain the evening of June 10 on my left pelvic side. So if you are like me, often times I buy something and it sits in my closet and by the time I realize it, the expiration for return has passed. I've been doing something a little different lately. I've been buying all my transition clothing from either TJ Maxx or Marshals. They accept all clothing, even without a receipt, as long as the tags are still on. Therefore, I leave the tags on the clothes until I actually wear them. And if I found that I shrunk and they are too big, NO PROBLEM! I just return them for store credit and get something new. Okay ladies - is anyone having difficulty shaving your armpits after surgery? I am finding that I am constantly missing the deeper crease near my back. I can't contort myself enough to get that spot no matter what I do. It is like a game of twister in the shower to try and bend enough to get into the new creases. need a new bathing suit, but getting surgery this summer... we all know how expensive bathing suits are. i just bought a one piece from torrid that i really like and it fits quite nice, it was $100 but i got it for $65 on sale. I’m thinking of getting a 2 piece tankini set from torrid as well so i have two bathing suits to switch off between for the summer (my friends and i love going to the beach and pool/ i bring the kids i nanny to the pool) but does it make sense to spend money on another bathing suit? like is this the type of this that will either a) maybe fit me in a year since it’s kind of compression and bathing suits work that way or b) torrid has nice bathing…
