Aunt flo is killing me! Any advice?

Like seriously! Pre surgery I was an avid blood donor. Now I'm constantly on the verge of needing a transfusion. I take around 90mg iron. I cant take birth control because of liver problems. I was thinking uterine ablation or something to help lighten it. Any advice?

I see, I didn't know that about the IUD. Also, I apologize, I misunderstood your first post, I thought your flow increased since surgery. I ended up going to see a blood specialist about my iron

I was referred, it was actually my PCP who said that she wasn't equipped to interpret the iron levels. When I discussed it with the surgeon, he agreed.

Could you do an IUD? I'm normally not an advocate, but in your situation if you can't take BC pills, I would recommend something to regulate your hormones and cycles. Have you met with your gyno

Did you just ask for a blood specialist or were you referred? Sometimes requesting a specialist is a nightmare through my medical group ugh

After surgery, my periods were crazy heavy flow for a couple of months. I’m talking having to wear tampon and pad and changing it every 45 min. I avoided going out and night time was a nightmare! It has since gone back to a normal flow although it does last longer than it did pre-surgery. Working out helps...it made the flow less heavy although it was the last thing I wanted to do during that time lol
