In an effort to embrace reality and with a healthy dose of encouragement from “Shrill”, I decided I’m wearing a bikini this summer. Stretch marks, scars, loose skin and all. All of these bathing suits are at Target. I bought the red one in a smaller size. STATS: I’m 202lbs. I’m 7 months post gastric bypass and I’ve lost 119 lbs. My goal weight is 145. Hello my fellow ladies! I have another question. It's a bit uncomfortable but I am just curious. As we all know, it's inevitable that breasts are going to (for lack of better term) "shrink" after surgery. This has been bothering me a bit as shopping for bras and finding decent tops has always been a challenge for me, regardless of my size. I just have weird shaped breasts I guess, lol. Anyways, I wanted to ask what helped those of you who already had the surgery? Are there specific brands or types of bras that worked best for you? How about plastics or silicone prosthesis? Not that I’m complaining, but I haven’t had a hot flush since I had my surgery back in May. I may have had a slight twinge a couple of weeks ago but this is Queensland and the heat is on (sorry to all you freezing in the northern hemisphere) so it could just have been the 37degrees C temp. Have any of my menopausal sisters experienced this? I know I’ve lost all the eostrogen that was stored in my fat but could it also be that I’ve passed that stage of life? I have been on point with taking the following: Bariatric Multivitamin 1 x's a day Biotin supplement - found the recommended fairly high dose to take in either Dr. Weiner's videos or that other dr who is hysterically funny and several here follow him Have Celebrate's hair, skin and nails multivitamin (I alternate with the sublingual biotin as I was worried about what happens if you take TOO much biotin) Eating at least 64 grams of protein a day. Dr has me going as high as 80 - I usually end up between 64 and 80 day. Maybe 3 days in past 6 wks where I got less than 64 gms My surgeons started me on the bariatric vitamins when I was pre-op…

So I had my gastric sleeve on October 18th and since been losing weight evenly. I was down to 209 and then my period started on the 5th and I jumped up about 5lbs. I wasn't really worried as I normally gain 5lbs around my period but yesterday was the last day of my period and I'm still up about 5/6 pounds. Any of you have similar stories? Should I be worried or should it go down in a bit? Any advice is appreciated! Also having my 2nd follow-up with my surgeon next Monday.

Years ago, I posted, asking about a good bra for my 'empty windsocks'. Many said that it couldn't be done without spending upwards of $50 each. WAAAAYYY outta my disability income budget! This morning the post op swelling in my abdomen has FINALLY taken a hike, but it appears that my boobs hitched a ride with it. I swear I dropped a full cup size in a week. That was a undesired side effect!

Today I went for my first mammogram since I had my gastric bypass last Oct. While I'm standing there with one of my boobs in the machine the very young tech says to me, "Uh, I need to ask you something. Did you lose a lot of weight since you were here last year because I didn't see any scars from a reduction and looking at your results from last year your breasts look a lot smaller." I told her "yes, over 100 lbs." She said , "oh, I better put that on your paperwork or the doctor is going to think I got the wrong patient." I'm the 'stand in person' at the last moment to take my 89 year old MIL to see Phantom of the Opera at the Bass Hall here in Fort Worth. The dress is LEGIT forest green and has white twisting vine/flower things on it. I'm freaked out as I absolutely have no idea what color shoes to wear with this color combo. I only have my extra large black sandals (not nice enough for the event) that I wear as my feet swell..and um...another pair of black sandals, slightly nicer. My birthday is next month, and I had told myself and my hubby that if I did good from now until the 8th, I was going to reward myself with some "good" food. Well, I have not done good so I've grounded myself and said stick to the same foods. When I started this topic earlier (then my computer lost what I had typed) I realized that I don't need to reward myself with food. After all, I got obese by comforting myself with food. 6 months ago I decided with the support of my husband to start the long insurance approval process for gastric sleeve surgery. 5 months so my husband of 12 years informed me he was no longer attracted to me didn't think the surgery would work, and wanted a divorce so he could "live his true life." The last few months have been unreal but I decided to go forward with the surgery even though most everyone recommended postponing it. For those who have had surgery ... if you look back, are there things that you wish you'd known about before hand? I think i'm trying to find out as much as possible before having surgery and hoping i don't go into information overload but use it wisely instead.

I had my period just before surgery on 5/20. I am 6 weeks post op and haven't had one. What were your expirences with menstration? My doc took me off of birth control because of the clot risk. I am starting back up this Sunday.

On June 12, 2019 I went to my last requirements of my Phyic Evaluation and the tests came out really good. Then once they turn in my paperwork into the surgeon, then the insurance office staff could see if my insurance will approve my GastricSleeve. I already have my yearly exam scheduled for later this month, but thought I'd see if anyone has any insight. And crowdsource questions I should ask my doc when I see her. I hadn't had my period in months before surgery (and for about 2 years, it was very inconsistent - sometimes 2 weeks apart, sometimes 3 months). What did you do with your old clothes and pictures after weight loss surgery success

Hi. I don’t know if I’m dehydrated . I usually have bladder control problems but at the moment not passing much urine , and have stomach ache and not feeling very well . Its not such a nuisance ! but I’m not sure it’s good either . Does anyone else have this ?

I may have to push my surgery to February. Starting a new job and the surgery is to close tothe date I have in October to take off. Then the holidays. Plus said January would be hard to get any time off. So I am going to call tommorow, see what February looks like. That's so long away. Maybe I can try a diet once more. Don't know what to do. I already had to change from August to October now all the way till February. I will have a secondary insurance from my work by then. Diet or patiently await till February?

I so much happier and healthier, after I got my surgery I just wish I did sooner and not let my weight get so high that I weigh over 600 lbs. I know I still have a long way to go but I weigh 400. I can do a lot more things know, that I couldn't before. My goal is to write a book about my journey, and help people with their surgery.

My surgery is scheduled for October 8. Now have to cancel. I got a job and start on September 30th. I wonder since I am just starting, if I could still take 2 weeks off for surgery and recovery in a few months. I should have waited. What to do? I guess I will ask HR before I even start.

2weeks ago, I went to see my Naturopath, has successfully helped me with an number of health issues through diet ( ie. yeast infections, urinary tract infections, anxiety). I had not seen her since before my Gastric Bypass procedure in May 2019. When I weighed in with her, I was down to 253 from 302. My presenting concern was I feeling very muddled and disorganized in my daily living. After tearfully describing my struggles, my Naturopath immediately told me that she wants me to start the Keto diet. I'm am just starting a bariatric diet. I am 245 lb and hesitant about the surgery but need to lose weight.i am doing well with everything except that I cant get motivated to go for a walk and at night I get bad food cravings. Any help is appriciated.

So I had surgery july 24 my weight was 242 the one in the tank top and the the one with the grey top is now and I am at 235 what is going on anyone else go threw this? I feel like my legs have gone down and boobs going away but the rest is not going away what am I doing wrong?

I was wondering today if after surgery these marble size lumps in a variety of spots on my body (Dr says they are harmless adipose or fatty tissue cysts) will eventually dissolve or will I end up looking like a big skin bag with some loose marbles stuck to the sides? Does anyone else have these?

Okay this is definately a gal question. I don't shave my legs because honestly I have a real hard time without because of my stomach. My husband doesn't care and I don't wear shorts or skirts. But I'm trying to decide if I should before surgery... or if no one is going to care. What do you think?

I have my surgery date for September 17th. In the meantime I had to switch my provider for my mental medications. All the meds I had been taking had me were I was stable but now this new Provider wants me to wait on surgery until she can get my bipolar in more control. It didn't look like I was in control today but it was because I had just took meds before I came and some of my meds had ran out. Plus first time meeting her and hurried trying to make it on time for my appointment. It has went by rather quickly with all the mandatory tests. Yet I have felt like forever. I made it work a lot faster by doing the leg work and constantly calling them. Today I called to see if they had submitted my paperwork to my insurance and was able to find out they had and I also received my surgery date. September 17, 2019 Still a wait but not to long. It seems like forever since I started the process but it has only been since May. I turned last requirement last week. Hopefully soon, as possible. Hope don't chicken out when they say yes but doubt it. I have made up my mind to be healthy. I know it will be no walk in the dark. Being buying a few items to eat for post op. Ok Ladies..my surgery is 7/9. I’ve been on my pre-op diet (800-1000 calories, high protein, low carb, even lower fat) and have noticed how infrequent BM are. I’m sure it’s due to the huge uptick in the amount of protein I’m eating. I don’t feel bloated but am concerned about going into surgery with out having had a BM in 3 days. Can I take something for this? Should I take something for this? I have been drinking 64 ozs of liquids too. Many advice would be appreciated?

I started my Surgery Process in March 2018 and I didn't get my surgery until April 2019. I see a huge difference between last year and now! 455-375 lbs

How much weight did you lose before people noticed?

Busy GastricSleeve Day. Tomorrow is going to be a busy day. I have 3 appointments 1 is not for the sleeve. I go to see my own therapist first appointment, then nutritional class and then the psychiatric testing results , this is the one I am nervous and worried about. I so hope I pass with all my issues.

Recently I lost enough weight that I don't use my wheelchair as much when I weight just little over 600 lbs, I used walker now to get around. Hopefully one day I can walk without use my walker.
