I'm 100 pounds into a 300-pound weight loss adventure, and I'm having the same problem everyone who's ever lost a large amount of weight has struggled with: excess skin. Instead of a spare tire around my middle, I have two floppy inner tubes separated by a waist. Above my belly button, I have lumpy cottage cheese skin that's not a problem other than appearance (which doesn't bother me yet and is easily fixed with shapewear) and frequent yeast infections in my belly button (which is easily fixed with antifungal cream). My lower apron, though, is really heavy, and since I'm still over 350, it's still an actual, full fat roll. It hangs down between panniculus level 1 and lev…

We can be the harshest person to ourselves. We get enough negative from those around at times and it we are not positive we may believe their lies. We get upset our letting our body and health get so bad. We lose weight then it's the loose skin and things we have to work out in or lives even emotionally. Try to keep this post in mind and speak positive everyday. Get going tell us great things about you.

OK, totally not WLS related, but I have terrible dark circles under my eyes. Figured since this is full of ladies with good ideas, I'd crowd source to see if there is a good eye cream for that. Bonus if its not crazy expensive. Thanks!

Had my Gastric bypass on May 8. Menopausal for almost 10 months. Then out of the blue....I see Red ? The physiological changes in my body are obvious....but was not expecting this. Have the headache and back pain with the menses...it is what it is, but I was kind of enjoying not having my monthly visit.

Hi all, I had a total hysterectomy years back and have been on estrogen pills since then. My surgeon asks that patients stop HRT or estrogen 1 week before surgery, to help minimize chance of blood clots. Does anyone else have any experience with this? It has been pretty rough... the headache was sooo bad after just two days off and has not relented at all. Migrain like I have not experienced in years and years, though I used to get them frequently. Throwing up, light aversion, the whole ball of wax... I might have attributed it to the liquid diet I am also on, except I was a week into that before stopping the estrogen and had not experienced headache up till …

I'm a year out of surgery. Lost 100 pounds and I'm proud of myself. But I've recently gained weight due to insane stress and depression. I was wondering if anyone else had a similar experience, and how you motivated yourself to get back up. I have another appointment with my surgeon and he's always super nice, but I feel terrible for not being able to lose, especially because I would like to lose another 100 pounds to my goal weight. I know how to handle my diet now, but I just need better motivation. What do you girls do to keep yourself on track? ? Would love to help someone with similar problems too. I feel like everyone needs some motivation from time to time, so mayb…

Hi, New Here. Im 5'3 , 215 lbs. My BMI is 38. What weight loss tool is good for me? I looked into Orbera but insurance doesnt cover it and it would take me forever to save up. What insurance covered options do I have? I was hoping that I could get a temporary solution.

Just gotta announce that since 2017 I went from a 48H to a 46D (breast reduction) and now 5 months post-op I am a 42C. I HAVE NOT BEEN A C CUP SINCE I WAS 11 YEARS OLD. IT IS AMAZING. BACK PAIN IS ASSUREDLY GONE FOREVER! I wanted a B cup with the reduction but apparently you don't get to choose like you do with implants, which is totally not cool. I hope they get even smaller! I had SO much pain as an H cup, I would not mind to have zero boobies. I can't wait for the band size to shrink even more - probably already need a 40. no bra nation.

I'm on the 2nd week of my pureed diet and I've really struggled with it. I keep eating food that's not pureed and I know that it's not what I'm supposed to be doing. I'm just hungry all the time and then I eat too much and hurt. I did some soul searching and realized that I can't do this to myself or I'll ruin my chance of success. So I went back to protein shakes even though I don't have to. Every time I thought I needed to eat I got up and moved around. I'm realizing just how much food effects every facet of my life. So instead of focusing on the food so much I'm going to focus on movement. My Dr told me that it's very important to focus on myself for the next year beca…

I have read that fertility often spikes post-surgery (especially when you have PCOS like I do.) However, I am not on the plan to have children and I'm trying to consider my next steps. I'd like to reach out to my gyno and see about birth control options. I was on the pill before, but I am a little curious about the arm implant and the IUD. What has been everyone's experience?

Feeling pretty weepy today. Finally forced PCP to do some more definitive tests for menopause having had missed and disappeared periods put down since late 30’s to weight and stress. Conclusion is yes I’m in menopause and likely have been since age 40. Explains so much. Very sad. Stopped my career just about dead as developed flop sweats when presenting, skin crumbled, hair became straw, weight gain ramped, anxiety and depression deepened, sleep was pretty constantly broken and everyone dismissed symptoms as cause. Beginning to mourn the lost opportunities. Things turned down as I lost all confidence, felt it was impossible to solve and was all my fault.[emoji22] Ed…

I have just lost my first 50lbs and I am starting to get a lot more confident in myself. I have started using the dating apps and now that the possibility of dating is more real I am starting to get really freaked out. Has anyone starting dating soon after surgery? These are the things I am nervous about: - they will think my minimal eating is weird (I am not 100% open about having the surgery and don’t want to have to explain my situation to every tinder date.) - most people want to meet up for a drink but I’m still not drinking alcohol - even though I am much more confident I still have a ton of insecurities about my body so I’m not sure I will be ready f…

OK ladies - I'm headed on vacation. Bras take up a lot of room, so I thought about traveling with a bralette or something without an underwire/non-molded cups. But, I have the typical WLS problem of SUPER droopy breasts that are still decently large. So, anyone have a rec for a bralette or something similarly easily packable that is still supportive? Thanks!

Hello everyone. I wasn't sure where I was supposed to do an introduction, so I am just dropping it in here. I met with my PCP on Friday and she approved a referral for the bariatric surgeon in our medical group. I am waiting for the referral in the mail to schedule an appointment with him. From there, not sure how long everything will take, but I am hoping for a surgery date less than 6 months from now. Does that seem reasonable for anyone with experience? I have been lurking and reading messages for a few days now, so I am glad to be here. Thank you!

Hi Ladies! I'm 2 months post op and have the yeast infection from hell. I went to a Little Clinic close to me (not my PCP or surgeon) and they gave me 2 doses of prescription Fluconazole PLUS I did a round of Monistat ... Almost a week later and it's still here! [emoji31] I'll call my PCP tomorrow but I thought I'd check here to see if this has happened to anyone else? I thought maybe my body wasn't absorbing the medication like it normally would?

My bras are too big, and so begins what I imagine will be a journey of boob and torso shrinkage that will cost me a bundle! An Amazon review clued me into bra extenders, so I plan to buy two bras that will fit me snugly right now, as well as two that are the NEXT size down, along with the bra extenders to make everything work along the way. This got me wondering about tips and tricks others might have to minimize new clothing costs as we lose the weight. Obviously there are cheap places to buy clothing (consignment shops and Goodwill among them), but I'm really thinking about hacks. For example, is there some way you've found to make your too-big shirts look great? M…

Hello all this may sound like a silly question I am about a month out from gastric sleeve and all of a sudden I seem to have a fear of losing all my breast and regretting it. Sounds silly but I really just want to lose the weight at surgery weighing about 245 I want to be healthy but don’t want to have to do plastics but also don’t want to have no boobs at all. How was that for you all? Looking for thoughts

Hi ladies, So I was hoping to start an open thread about how you feel as you lose the weight. I mean this to target how you personally feel about yourself and not necessarily health wise. I’ll preface this with the truth that my husband and I are going through a bit of a rough patch. I caught him texting inappropriate things to another woman and all of it has lead to me to really focus on my own feelings about what I think of myself. (She was thin and pretty and that shouldn’t be important but my brain just sort of locked in on that.) I feel great. I don’t feel like people are staring at me because of my size anymore (not that they probably ever were) and I don’t fe…

Just had a clear out of clothes. Only 3 weeks post op, but this was overdue. Was at the stage of having to empty overfull draws every time I wanted to find the desired black item among other black items, delving past stuff I hadn't worn for ages. OH helped do the Keep/Bin/Donate routine. Then part way through I began to cry. He's put up so kindly with enough waterworks these last couple of weeks and was concerned, but I explained it was happy tears. I was keeping smaller clothes with the very real expectation I would be able to wear them, binning ragged old faithfuls that were beginning to get loose, and donating huge misguided attempts to fill holes in my work or social…

Hi ladies! I have a question! I never had anyone to ask this before so I am happy to have this app and the powder room for women only. I am wondering if anyone else has trouble using tampons while overweight? I haven't been able to use them for a very long time because I can't get it in and I can't bend the right way to do it cuz it hurts. I also have to use two pads at a time or I leak all over. Does anyone else have this problem? Does it get better with weight loss? Thanks! Stacie

I'm not upset. Just bit perplexed by this. Been at this gym for three years. I like to give off the I'm working out leave me alone vibe..lol. No make up, sweaty, ball cap and headphones on. lets people know this is not my chat time. I was one of four people in the stretching area. It's a pretty quiet private area. I have a bit of an idea of what this hand gesture is..But not totally. The three men in the area were not stretching . One was pretending to slide dollar bills at me quickly....Something to do with strippers.... right? When he realized I saw him he walked away freaking quickly.

Hi everyone! I am 37 years old and had a total hysterectomy 2 years ago due to endometriosis. The endo was really bad on my bladder and kidney's giving me horrible pain. Well since my hysterectomy my pain level is slim to none, that it until about a month ago. I have been on my pre-biratric surgery diet and have lost 15 pounds. Since this pain started, I did a little research and found that some people get the endometriosis pain back and/or worse with losing weight due to the hormones that are released during weight loss. My question is, has anyone gone through anything like this? With me only being in pre-op right now, I am wondering how bad the pain gets wi…

Ok, so, I'm having underwear issues. Even though I never liked briefs, now I need to wear them. I'm 3 months post op and need to replace all my undies because they are too loose. I had a large umbilical hernia repair at the same time so I'm really sensitive to the loose skin that is starting to form in my FUPA area. It pulls down from my belly button and is really uncomfortable. Plastics will fix it eventually but for now i need supportive underwear but not shapewear. Shapewear is too restrictive even when it's a little big and I struggle to eat or drink while wearing it. I wear spandex leggings under my sweats when working out, but again, same issues eating and …

Hello ladies! I'm very new, had my first official appointment last week this starting my 6 month pre-op journey. I have a couple of friends that have had the surgery that I've been asking any advice. Although I'm excited for this journey and ultimately the surgery, I'm a little apprehensive about it. Like it may not actually be a reality and I'm going to wake from this dream and it'll be psych! The jokes on me. My weight has been a struggle since puberty and I'm ready for that to end and start life as the woman I've always wanted to be. I know the next 6 months is a journey to learning how to eat properly and the lifestyle changes and reprogramming how to eat and n…
