Has anyone very heard of Nature Box. It is a website that sends you a box of healthy natural snacks right to your door each month. Sounds interesting but I don't know the nutritional facts. Anyone out there use this website?

Moving on up in my stages which I am thankful for, however regardless of what eat, after about 45 minutes I am extremely bloated. Portions...1/2c. Grits 1soft scrambled egg. Last night it was 4 bites of grilled grouper, 1/2 tiny sweet potatoes all mushed. has anyone else experienced this? Does this subside as you read adjust to solid food?

Been banded 5 weeks and never had a stuck episode. I'm in the green zone and consuming 800-1200 cal per day with 60-80g protein. I do cardio 3-4 times per week. Is this normal about not getting any food stuck? I chew real real well.

Gastric Band- advice for week 5 onwards Weight loss You may lose some weight in the first 2 weeks post-surgery, but this is more due to the low calorie liquid diet and the fact that sometimes, appetite is reduced due to the area around the band swelling initially after surgery. Your weight is therefore likely to plateau or even go up slightly by 4 weeks post-surgery. By the time week 5 comes around, it is highly likely that you will be feeling hungry again; this is because the swelling will have most likely subsided, therefore the top of the stomach is no longer being compressed by the band to the same degree. The process of gastric band adjustments is require…

My surgeon thinks I have esophageal dilation but he doesn't think its a big deal. My family dr disagrees so she ordered an upper GI. I drank 2 oz of super thin barium. After 15 minutes most of it was still sitting in my esophagus and hadn't gone through my band yet. The radiologist was concerned about that. With a band it's supposed to take longer to go through right?? I asked the assistant if esophageal dilation would cause that and she said she wasn't sure. Thoughts? I should have official results tomorrow. I'm trying to see a surgeon who specializes in bariatrics but he requires you do the upper GI first.

Do you know if you can have your pouch stretched and your food can still get stuck? Sometimes it feels like it, I have symptoms of stretched pouch, pain in the left shoulder but I can't eat much and some food gets stuck. I have that pain very often ever since the surgery so I never thought it's a problem. I have an appointment with my doctor next week but until then did some of you experienced something similar? Please help!

Got my 6th fill earlier this week, total of 9.5cc in a 14cc band and I'm finally feeling it work! I ate some breakfast this morning about 9, went on about my day as normal and around 330 I felt my tummy growl... And it hit me... I haven't eaten anything since breakfast and I was just now getting hungry! Score!!! My portions size is still a little more then they'd like so I won't say I'm in the "green zone" just yet. Prolly one more fill and I'll be fully in the green!

Hi! I just turned 55 yesterday so I feel a renewed effort to continue on my new journey of weightloss. I don't exercise regularly (bad knees) and I know that may lead to some of my plateau but I do continue to seek protein first when eating and sometimes give in to that mint chocolate chip ice cream ==but only a bit to settle my taste buds! I have lost almost 100 pounds so I am VERY happy with my lapband. I haven't had complications once my fill was tweaked to it's potential...and I am so happy. I am the only one who knows that I had this procedure as my significant other was no support at all. Those who work with me just know I was observing portions and content...…

I know this will make me sound weak and pathetic but here it goes. I've been banded for 5 days now and I'm hating this liquid diet. I can't take anymore water, broth, protein shakes, jello!! I'm always hungry! The broth makes me feel bloated and anything makes my stomach hurt because its so empty. I don't know what to do. I'm on a liquid diet for 3 weeks and I notice I'm constantly in a bad mood. Help or advice please!

The Lap Band didn't work for me... How many times do we hear this? The fact is the Lap Band DOESN't "work" for anybody... YOU work for YOU... Getting banded and just expecting to drop all of your excess fat is like buying a lawn mower; parking it in the driveway; pulling up a lawn chair; and then complaining that the grass is tall... Fact is if you aren't getting the desired result then have the equipment fine tuned and try a different strategy. If the equipment is functional then you are the key to achieving success... Brad

Friends, I need help. No judgments, please; just help. I am 7 months post op, have had 3 or 4 fills, but have only lost about 20 pounds (and that was in the first 2 months, so I have lost no weight in like 5 months!) I do believe my band is working , because I can feel food get stuck if I don't chew we'll enough. And I definitely eat less at each sitting than I used to. But I don't eat like a toddler, which I wish I did. It takes 4-5 slices of pizza or a whole sandwich to fill me up. I think the problem is that I'm still making poor food choices most of the time: junk food, processed food, high sugar, high fat. I get it, get it, get it that the band won't change your habi…

I had my lapband surgery in January 2008, lost about 70 pounds, but have since gained it all back. I'd like to start over with it ... definitely still have restriction ... is it realistic to think I could do just the protein shakes for awhile (a few weeks) to get back on track?

Hi, all! I'm new to the boards and am one week out from my surgery date. I'm excited beyond words at the opportunity ahead of me. I know it will require a lot of work and discipline and that the band is just a tool. I feel sure that my biggest challenges are exercise, chewing food thoroughly enough and not drinking during meals. I welcome advice from anyone who has had sucess overcoming these issues in particular. I'm especially curious about what you all do to encourage accountability on your exercising. I'm happy to be here and looking forward to meeting everyone! Thanks, Melissa

Hi everyone! I got banded on 6/26. I am down 20 lbs since starting liquid diet two weeks ago. I'm not having any trouble with the liquids-just tired of them. I did eat 3 tater tots tonight with my kids after smashing them and taking little bites. I am longing for different texture than liquids. Sometimes I think I might regret doing this. Please tell me it gets better! I even tried 4 little goldfish crackers and aren't having problems. I'm scared this isn't going to work for me.

I made this last night and it was a HUGE hit with the family. Not only that it was VERY band friendly. I sometimes eat eggplant parm but it goes really slow through my band but for some reason using zucchini made this recipe incredibly easy to eat yet very fulfilling. http://allrecipes.com/recipe/no-noodle-zucchini-lasagna/detail.aspx Ingredients 2 large zucchini 1 tablespoon salt 1 pound ground beef 1 1/2 teaspoons ground black pepper 1 small green bell pepper, diced 1 onion, diced 1 cup tomato paste 1 (16 ounce) can tomato sauce 1/4 cup red wine 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil 1 tablespoon chopped fresh oregano hot Water as neede…

I have my first follow up tomorrow...but not with my lapband surgeon...with my bypass surgeon. I had bypass in 2008, got to my happy place, and then gained 45 lbs. I went to Mexico and got band over bypass. My stoma was enormous and I was hungry all the time. I tried and failed over and over again, trying to lose the regain. I went to Mexico for band over bypass. I called my local surgeon before I left and generically asked if they do fills for patients who didn't have the band there...they said yes. So I'm hoping tomorrow they follow through. I'm so worried. I'm eating like I was pre band. I guess this is banister hell. I'm always hungry. I hope I don't fai…

Okay, I'm 2 yrs 2months post op..... and Friday last week I had to be completely unfilled, had 5cc out of my band.....I had the "green zone" since April last year, until, for some unknown reason either got stuck or other and started getting acid reflux and couldn't even keep down water.... The stuck problem and acid reflux has gone but I have no restriction at all.......and NO SELF CONTROL.... it's like I've been let off the leash and 'Over eating'...because I can! I want a fill ASAP! Can't be seen until 12th July and I'm dreading weight gain ..., have gained a couple of pounds so far but it's scary that I'm on the slippery slope of becoming ou…

I noticed a lot of people talk about how they used to eat (calorie laden this and fatty that). I ate about 75% of the time, light/low-cal foods like FF Lays chips, diet cola,94% FF micro popcorn, light mayo, pam, lean meats, tuna in Water, ECT... and I'm still fat. I know that I ate to much period! More calories in than burned! With my surgery tomorrow morning will eating the same type of foods work for me or hurt my progress because of familiarity? Will the band help keep me full enough?

So, yesterday was one of those days. I was not hungry at all but found myself resorting back to the bad habit of mindless picking at food and snacks all day yesterday. I was doing so good with the boredom eating up until yesterday. Now, today, I feel so guilty that I don't even want to eat anything.

So, after two years of not being able to see my doc (insurance nightmares!) I got in today, had an upper GI and got my band filled. I feel like I am starting this fresh and I am excited. It was horrible being in school, single parent and all the crap I went through 3 years ago and try to go 115 miles and get check ups, I just couldn't do it then and my state of mind was not one to be using my tool effective ( i feel terribly guilty for that!). Horrible timing in life. But, now I have my degree, a great new man in my life, my kids are older and I have a great job with insurance! Yeehaw! So, I am back! I am just glad I havent gained all my weight back- but I am no where nea…

I recently started really paying attention to the weight I have lost ( band in November 2012). I was in the store looking for protein mix and saw all of those products that are suppose to help you lose weight, I laughed so hard thinking back on how a few years ago, I would have tried some of them. I have lost around 60 pounds in total. I never want to be in that situation where you try and find the magic pill/power,etc. weight loss is hard for some but changing your lifestyle is the key and for people like me the band is just the tool I needed.

So I had my first fill today. There was 3cc in my band at the time of the op and today he took it out and put 5cc in and asked me to drink some water. I started burping and he said it was too tight so he took 1cc out leaving me with 4cc in the band. He also said I could eat mushy good straight away and I have had no probs at all. Does feel a little tighter. Lets see how I go :-)

I had my band placed 3 years ago. I ended up getting pregnant right after surgery. I moved away from my surgeon and was looking for a doctor to continue my care when I was laid off after our company was purchased by an investment firm. I'm traveling 6 hours to see my surgeon next week and am hoping to get my first fill. I'm nervous since I'm not close to her in case something happens but I'm also tired of not using my band! I lose my benefits in September so I'm not sure if I can squeeze in another fill or afford another trip if I need another. I know it's not idea but at least I can get the ball rolling? Any advice? I asked the do's and dont's before my first fill an…

Since having my lap band surgery two months ago I have been getting pain between my shoulder blades after eating. I also burp a lot after eating but it is a really deep belch. I thought it was from eating too much even though I do not yet feel restriction and really have not been over eating. I also still feel hungry sometimes even though I am having the pain. I do not remember having this issue prior to the band so I assumed it was band related. Now I have read that pain between the shoulder blades can be from gall bladder as well as the deep belching, has anyone else experienced these? Have you figured out what is causing your pain?
