What not to say to somebody who is getting a band...
LOL! I so totally agree with each and every one of you! "They" just don't have a clue........I just have to hope that they mean well!

Incisions/ Bandages
They may look better after you shower, not quite so icky. Either way, you really should leave them on there until they fall off. Congratulations fellow bandster!
-
Becoming an "after"
Yay for you! A picture is worth a thousand words! You look great, keep up the good work!
-
First social outing since being banded
Congratulations! It's all about one day at a time, one event at a time and that is how we become successful! I have found that usually my worst fears reside only in my own head!
-
Infected Stitches
Stay on top of that infection and I agree with Mis, you may need further testing and stronger antibiotics.
-
stomach cramps
I would say that you should consult your doctor. I am curious though, how long has this been happening and are you eating too much at one time?
-
options please
Sure! I like to think of myself as a foodie as well, and I have managed to be quite successful. I have also had a set back with some weight regain. My point is, if you follow the "rules" you can still be successful and plan, shop and cook to your heart's content. Promise. You just have to choose healthier choices and believe me, healthier, fresher food choices can be amazing. It was very hard for me in the beginning as I am originally from the Deep South and raised on country cooking and soud fool. Soooo good, unfortunately not always good for you! Take your time, don't be too hard on yourself and enjoy!

100 pounds down! :-)
Congratulations!

How often do you work out?
Everyday. I have several of the Leslie Sansone "Walk Away the Pounds" DVD's, a step aerobics DVD, Wii Zumba and Wii Fit Plus. Whatever it is you decide to do, make it something you enjoy otherwise you won't stick with it. I do the majority of my workout/exercise first thing in the morning before "life" gets in the way. I have also started doing more at night when I get home from work. Best Wishes, you CAN do it!

Has anyone done the 5 day pouch test/reset?
Yes, I have just recently completed the 5 day pouch test and I am happy to say it worked! I had never tried this since being banded, but definitely think it is well worth doing periodically going forward!

Had first fill today and....
Yay....congratulations! You are well on your way now!

Band Slipped - What Now?
Sorry to hear that you are having such difficulties with your band. I am curious as to how a band that has been in place for 6 years can/would slip. I would think that after that length of time it would be firmly in place.....or have I just totally missed something? Good luck!

Losing too fast???
Yes, everyone does lose at different rates. When I was banded back in 2009, I lost very quickly, losing 125 in 8 months. During that time, I felt great, my energy level was through the roof and did not experience any extreme hair lose. As long as you are feeling good, just enjoy your success!

Traveling
Yes, totally agree with talking to your doctor. I would imagine a lot would depend on how long a trip you take, size of the vehicle (bigger means you could stretch out some maybe), how your overall health is and HOW YOU FEEL. When you do go, have FUN!
